LEAH'S POV

My heart thudded in my chest as I walked toward the edge of the rooftop of the Empire building. Taking a deep breath, I stood on the edge, looking straight ahead. I closed my eyes in fear when l looked down to see how high the building was. If I was to mistakenly fall from there I would lose my life.

"Leah, you are going to be fine. Shirley will be here with the press soon to stop you from 'committing suicide'," I assured myself.

People began to gather in front of the building as they noticed me standing at the top. They pointed at me but I couldn't hear what they were saying because of the far distance. The small number of onlookers slowly turned into a large crowd and I noticed a white van pulled over in front of the building and some group of people with cameras jumped down from it.

Shirley did it. I just had to wait for someone to come to the roof and stop me from jumping, and then I would get the public's sympathy that I needed.

I forced tears to come out of my eyes
