Chapter 4. Trying to escape

"It's okay. I will see to that, but first, take care of Abigail and Nana, and ensure they don't reveal anything to Zuri. If she tries any nonsense with me this time, I won't hesitate to cut off her tongue, as she claimed she would burn the human if she was still left in this castle."

Aaron laughed, but I wasn't laughing.

Seeing my serious expression, Aaron calmed down. He was 400 years old.

"Alright, bro, let me go to Abigail and Nana. But what do you plan to do with the pretty human female? I don't even know her name yet," he asked me, and I shook my head.

"I don't know. Let's all wait until nightfall to find out. You can leave; I would like to be alone," I said.

"Left alone, or left with the pretty one?" Aaron asked. My eyes subtly narrowed at him, and he quickly left, while I walked up to lock the entrance door leading into my passage, securing both the front and back doors. I didn't care what my mother or sisters would say.

As I finished locking the back passage door, I was sure the human had dared to run through and into my restricted area. Just then, I heard her softly clicking the door handle to my room, carefully opening it and stepping out.

She was pretty clever; she waited until she stopped hearing our voices before cautiously opening the door.

How did she think she could escape from my mansion, knowing I had my sharp blue eyes on her? Not only I, but other hungry dragons without children also desired her.

I paused, standing in front of my room door, and as I stared at the door that was now ajar, just as she peeked out her head, our eyes met. She quickly recoiled and ran back inside, while I smiled and entered my bedroom, locking the door shut behind me.

She even dared to wear my white robe, and my eyes narrowed at how oversized it looked on her, like a wedding gown. It reminded me of when I courted Zuri to officially make her my mate and queen while my mother, Queen Ama, was still alive.

I thought most of them had gone. When I stepped out nervously from the wardrobe, I stopped hearing voices. I walked out carefully, trying not to make any sound, realizing I was still bare. I picked up a beautiful, long white robe I found in the wardrobe and put it on, as I couldn’t continue to parade around naked in front of all these male dragons.

They had stared at me with lust, but that didn't change the fact that they were dragons—and hungry ones at that.

I had seen the way the dragon named Aaron stared at me first and licked his hot lips before introducing himself as the king's brother. I wondered who the king was among the two men I had seen step out when Aaron arrived with me, as it was difficult to determine their ages from our historical texts.

My focus and aim were now set on escaping, and I knew with the way their eyes burned at me, my escape wouldn’t be easy. Still, I had to escape; I couldn’t be imprisoned in their castle.

I feared I was going to be cooked, but it was obvious they didn’t eat humans. I was relieved at that, but I couldn’t hear what they were saying in the passage because I was too nervous.

Stepping out from the magnificent golden wardrobe, I realized I was in a man's room, and my mind raced, wondering whose room I had entered.

Was it the king's room? I thought, but that made me restless, as I didn’t want to be touched by any dragon man. I didn’t want to lose my form; I was a warrior, and a warrior had to look fit at all times.

I hadn't considered having sex. I had seen some young human females of my age engaging with some of our males, even as we were on the run, fleeing to new lands and encountering people who were also running from the dragons. But that didn't stop those silly young women from having sex. The way they moaned loudly would make anyone turn away from them; they were so shameless, not caring who was watching.

I didn’t want to look at a man’s rod, but with the way they openly had sex, especially given our circumstances, I was forced to witness how some of those males sank their rods into some females’ cores. After a few months, the females became pregnant, and I was terrified, knowing I was in a man's room.

I needed to escape, especially since I had seen how large those human males’ rods were. How would the dragon males, who were taller and larger, look compared to them?

That was the main reason why many females like me were purposely running away. They kept discussing how they would die if a dragon man had sex with them, as a human male's rod was clearly painful.

I hadn’t had sex since I became an adult. Although many of them never knew I was a female, since I didn’t bathe in public like they did, I made excuses and told a fellow warrior named Amos that I wanted to leave for training. He never mentioned that I wasn’t a male to all the females openly gawking at me, thinking I had a rod to pleasure them.

I was still innocent, and I wasn’t ready to sleep with a dragon man. Worse, I wasn’t armed with my sword. Remembering I was inside the royal palace of the dragon kingdom, I knew whoever owned this room must be as strong and magical as Aaron. How Aaron had picked up his fallen arm that I cut off and reattached it still surprised me.

I tiptoed to carefully open the door, trying not to make a sound, as I heard the voices fade in the passage. I assumed the dragons discussing there had left.

I wondered why they hadn’t raised an alarm as to where I had gone.

I was worried; if it weren’t for the fact that the people who had captured me were dragons, I would have felt relaxed, even though I was brought in as a slave. But knowing they were dragons made me restless, and I didn’t want to continue with my initial plans of wanting to kill their king and queen as revenge for destroying my kingdom—revenge for the destruction of Sunfield—as I was the only princess left.

I was shocked when I opened the door and met the handsome man's gaze, his blue eyes sharp and piercing. He was taller and more muscular.

"Oh my!" I exclaimed, then immediately ran back into his large bedroom, searching for a weapon to defend myself against him. Even though I was tough, the knowledge that the handsome tall man with long blonde hair before me was a dragon sent fear coursing through me. I knew he would be as powerful as Aaron, and my chest rose and fell heavily as I became visibly afraid while he stepped inside. I quickly pulled out a drawer from his bed and prepared to throw it at him if he dared to come any closer.

I heard that many of our females who were abducted were raped and used for the dragons’ advantage, and I wasn’t ready to face such a fate. My heart raced louder as he slowly turned to face me, and I trembled, fearing I might faint.
