CHAPTER 4- THE CONSEQUENCES OF BEING THE VILLAINESS..

Previously - 

"Mom yesterday you referred to an incident didn't you...? Can you tell me more about this incident...?"

"Yes, dear but first eat your breakfast and restore the energy you lost We can talk about the incident in the study once your father arrives."

"Yes, mom."

Currently -

"I'm back." said the duke

"Welcome back... dad." said Rubia

"Dad...??" Said the Duke with tears of happiness flowing through

"Yeah, or must I refer to you as father...?"

"No dear I'm overjoyed...!"

Rubia's Pov -

Hah... I know how to deal with these situations

I kind of feel really warm around the couple I guess this is what they call parental love huh...

In this life, I will definitely become a daughter they are proud of even if I am not really their daughter...

"Where's your mum dear...?"

"Ah. She asked me to invite you to the study when you arrive".

"You've been waiting for me, dear...?!!"

"Well yes."

"I'm glad then!!" said the duke with a joyous smile...

Yup, I will definitely live this life to the fullest...!

The duke accompanied by some servants arrive at the study to meet his wife Duchess while Rubia waits for Sandra to bring her some paper, quill and ink. **

"Ah. you've arrived honey did everything go well with your meeting with the emperor...?" said the Duchess 

"Yes, I reported to him about the situation of the Westlands. For now, he has asked for all noble families to suggest some solutions if they had any."

"I see...Anyways Rubia has asked us to explain what happened before she lost her memories.  I wanted to ask you if that was okay honey."

"Well, the doctor did say it will not be harmful to talk about it with her."

"All right."

"I'm here... Mom and Dad...!"

"Come and sit next to me dear "

"Yes, mom."

She sits in the seat next to the Duchess*

"Dear will you please believe us even if we say some things that may be unbelievable."

"Don't worry I trust you"

"All right then... Honey take over."  whispers*

"You were poisoned by one of the maids who had I'll intentions towards you. Apparently, the poison was sold on the black market for a high price. The maid was able to purchase the poison by selling some of the jewellery that she had stolen from you.  When you were being treated the doctor had told us that your heartbeat had almost stopped for a second and began to beat again after a while. we were really worried about you since you had quite a bad constitution since when you were a child."

"I see so that's what happened...Um, dad about the maid do you perhaps know the reason she dislikes me...?"

"Well..."

"It's all right dad I guess it was probably because I had treated her poorly in the past."

"You don't need to worry about all that dear..."

Dad's words carried concern as well as sadness it was probably because the fact his daughter vented out her anger on the maids did not sit well with him but at the same time, he knew there was nothing much he could say to calm her down.

And the reason why Rubia always took her anger out on the maids was that she was shamed at almost all the tea parties she was invited to. She was mocked by the other ladies because the crown prince did not love her or pay any attention to her.

I believe the only reason she went to the tea parties even though she knew she would be ridiculed was because of the love she had towards her family... I guess that was another thing that I admired about her character...!
