"Why are you suddenly getting it right, Cynthia?" I quizzed out of curiosity, suspicion, and surprise evident in my voice. "You usually miss."

My gaze narrowed suspiciously as I watched her closely, taking a precise strike.

It baffled me that Cynthia all of a sudden became adept at archery, something she was never good at.

She shrugged and said flatly,

"I think of someone who hurt me and how I want them gone as I take a strike. It is easier that way when you think about it like that."

I squinted at her dubiously. Something was fishy about her statement.

Could it be that Valentina Wilson was the person she was referring to?

I pressed on as I drew closer.

"Is that person by chance Valentina Wilson?"
