Malia's P.O.V.
The car was dead silent. After being frozen when Mr.Marcus groped my neck, he let it go after I shut up.
I was shocked to my bone that time, I mean, he was using those fingers to thrust in my hole just earlier, and then he used it to my neck.
Does he have some mental condition or what?
I wouldn't have thought that he'd be like that.
However, I'm not scared of him for some reason.
Looking outside the car window is what helps me forget what happened.
But I keep on thinking about my brother. I glance at the person beside me. His eyes are closed.
I wonder where we're going.
We entered a huge gate. I thought that I'll finally get to see what his place looks like, but to my surprise, behind that enormous gate was a long road and forest on the side.
Aside from the lamppost that was providing a little bit of light, everything was dark, but the road was the smoothest road I've ever been on.
Wow. This is awesome.
As we reached another gate, I didn't see anyone open it but it did and the car went inside. It must be automatic.
An exquisite fountain was sitting at the center of the place. Behind it are bushes and flowers in bloom. Compared to the road earlier, this place is bright.
I couldn't get to compliment the place further as the car stopped already.
Someone opens the door on Mr.Marcus' side.
I should get going too.
I opened the door on my side and went out.
As I looked at the mansion, my heart began to race. I couldn't believe that I was here, standing in front of the home of the legendary business tycoon everyone's talking about, Mr. Marcus.
The mansion itself was grand and imposing, with tall columns and a sprawling lawn that seemed to stretch on for miles. It was like something out of a fairy tale, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder as I gazed up at the imposing structure.
That's Mr.Marcus' home for y'all.
A man in his sixties is standing in front of us, he looks dependable. He's standing so straight. Don't tell me he's a butler…
I gave him a slight bow when his eyes landed on me. He looks curious as to why I'm here, I'm curious too…
"How's the house?" Mr.Marcus asked.
"Everything's clear, sire."
I went beside Mr.Marcus.
As he stepped inside the mansion, we were greeted by a lot of male and female servants, lined up and having their heads facing the floor.
Dang. That feels like we're king and queen.
We walk past them, but as we reach the huge staircase, Mr.Marcus faces me.
"Why are you following me?"
"Because you dragged me here?"
Realization must've hit him as he looks at me with his brows raised.
"Right." He paused for a second and said, "Follow me."
He walks upstairs, the stair is so high that my whole thigh and feet are aching already after we reached the top. I feel like I just hike a hundred thousand steps.
He went to the last room in the hallway.
After opening the massive door, I was in awe, everything inside was shining. Even the floor…
I watched him as went to the desk, facing the door and just right behind the glass window.
"Come here." He pointed at the chair in front of the desk.
As I walk towards it, my heels are making a faint sound on the tile.
As soon as I sat on the chair, he sighed and looked at me intensely.
"Let me get straight to the point. We can't let you leave this house-"
"What?! No way! Are you going to kill me? But you're the one who forced me inside that car!" Is he insane? I knew it! I should've jumped out of that car!
He sighed again, but heavier this time.
"Can you please let me finish first?"
It was my turn to take a deep breath, then, I finally said, "Okay."
"Right. What I was saying is, we can't let you leave just yet. Maybe in a few weeks."
"But, why? Will you please tell me more?"
He leans on the back of his chair.
"The attack that happened earlier was caused by my enemies."
Oh.
"I didn't know that a business tycoon's life was that dangerous." I burst out.
"No…Hmm…"
What? Why is he hmm-ing me?
"What is it?" I'm sure there's something he wanted to say.
But he's just staring at me.
"Wait, why do I have to stay here when it's 'your' enemies in the first place?" I ask, emphasizing the word 'your'.
"They're dangerous." That is all that I received.
"Yes, because they're enemies. So, what does it have to do with me, getting dragged here and being detained like I did something to them?"
Mr.Marcus picks up a pen and points it to me.
"Because they've seen you with me. You'll be their target as well."
"But I'm not related to you in any way!" I gasped in shock.
"They don't care about that shit."
My brother came to mind. I can't stay here for a week, I need to earn money and pay the hospital or else they'll stop my brother's medication.
"But I need to work…" I mean, I get it, because of what happened, my life could be in danger, but I would rather die working to pay for my brother's medication than do nothing when I know that he needs my help.
"You can throw yourself out and get killed if you want. Like I care." He stares at me.
"H-hey. You don't understand…" Shit. Do I have to tell Mr.Marcus about my family?
He raises his left brow as if he's waiting for me to say what I wanted to say.
"Well, I need to earn money because my brother is in the hospital…" There. I said it.
Neither of us is talking. I lower my gaze, just enough to see him in my peripheral vision. He's not moving, but I can tell that his eyes are on me.
"Is that so?" He said later on.
I nodded.
"Why don't you work while you're here for two weeks? I'll help you wire the money to the hospital."
My face lit up upon hearing what he said.
"Really?!"
"Yeah."
I nodded my head continuously.
"Thank you! You'll never regret your decision, sir. I can clean, I can cook, anything! I'm kind of flexible when it comes to work, you see."
A smirk formed on his face. "Great, is ten thousand bucks alright?"
Is he serious right now?
"Of course!" Who am I to refuse?!
Ten thousand bucks for two weeks of working? Where would I get that amount of money in just two weeks?!
"Thank you so much, sir! That'll be of great help to my brother…"
His smirk didn't leave his face as he nodded again. He seems satisfied.
"Do you mind starting tonight?"
I shook my head.
"I don't, sir. I can start anytime."
He nodded his head, then, he called someone through the phone on his table.
"Come here." He said.
After a few minutes, a lady went inside. Mr.Marcus told me to come with her as she'll help me change my dress to a comfortable one.
But I am not sure if this is what comfortable clothes look like.
"I'm, excuse me?" How am I going to work while wearing lingerie?
The lady looks at me, she's currently folding the dress that I used.
"Yes?"
"Uhm, I was just wondering. Why am I wearing lingerie?"
She tilts her head.
"What do you mean?" She asks.
Huh? Why is she asking me?
"I mean-" I was cut off when the door opened.
It was Mr.Marcus, he had changed his clothes already.
"Leave." He told the lady.
Then, his intense gaze landed on me. He eyed me from head to toe which made me uncomfortable.
"I- Uh, I don't understand why that lady made me wear this," I started while scratching the back of my neck.
Shit. This is embarrassing, I can't even look straight into his eyes.
"Mr.Marcus?" I almost flinch when he walks towards me.
I froze when he grabs my neck and starts kissing me.
"Hmp!" What is he doing?!
I try to get off his hands but he's so strong!
"Hmp!" I panicked as his other hand started to roam from my waist to my butt.
Why is he so strong?
I place my elbow on his neck to stop him and it works.
He pulled himself off me and I did the same. I stepped a few backward and stared at him in shock.
"Why did you do that, Mr.Marcus?!" I can't stop my voice from rising.
He massages his neck as he stares at me.
"Don't tell me you think I offered you a job as my maid?" He hissed.
Huh?
"But isn't that the job you're referring to?" What else would I think?
"Haha!" I was caught off guard by his laugh.
"You think I'll offer you ten thousand bucks to clean my house? I have tons of maids." He steps closer to me.
But I don't know how to react, then, if not a maid, what is the job he's referring to?
He grabbed my jaw and made me face him.
His jaw clenched as he stared angrily at me. "You'll warm my bed while you're here."
"What…No…I didn't come here for that, sir…" I was lost for words.
"Fine." He pushed my face. I almost fell to the ground because of his strength. "No ten thousand bucks for you while you're here. No connection outside either." He said as he walked outside.
No…I can not lose the money… My brother needs the money…
But why do I have to sell my body…Why?
If-if I refuse that money, what will happen to my brother?
Dorothy can't finance his medication, does she even know that I'm gone?
I look at Mr.Marcus' back, I sigh heavily as I run towards him and hold a part of his shirt.
"You need to keep your promise…"
I felt him glance at me over his shoulder. Then, he turns around to face me.
He grabbed my face and said, "Of course."
Malia's P.O.V.I woke up to the sound of someone knocking on my door. Ack. My back felt like it's been stabbed multiple times! I bit my lip as I felt my private part aching as well. Right. We did it last night. I groggily got out of bed and stumbled over to answer it. It was the girl who had helped me last night, the one who had brought me to this room and given me that lingerie."Hey," she said softly. Compared to the stoic expression she had last night, right now, she's giving that motherly vibe. "Sorry to wake you up. Mr. Marcus needs to talk to you but he's not here right now. He'll be back soon, so just stay in the house and wait for his orders."I rubbed my eyes, still trying to wake up fully. "What kind of orders?" I asked."Just whatever he needs you to do," she replied cryptically. "Don't worry, though. You did great last night, and he was impressed with you. He just needs to talk to you about some things."Fuck it. So, she knew what happened. How can she say those words wi
MALIA's P.O.V.Cheska was the name of the lady who helped me last night. As I walked out of the room, she was waiting outside the door, telling me that she'll help me to get accustomed to the house for the time being. She led me to the dining room but I chose to eat in the kitchen instead. "Do you need anything else?" "Nope, I'm good. Thank you." She excuses herself after giving me the bowl of cereal that I requested. I sat down at the kitchen table comfortably with my bowl of cereal and started to eat. Thankfully, no one is here at this hour. I just know that it would be awkward if someone were here while I'm eating. Now that I'm seated here and my surroundings are quiet, my mind becomes somehow clear.I'm still wondering about this uneasiness I've been feeling ever since Mr.Marcus told me that Callisto is his real name. It's bugging me why I have this familiar feeling toward him that I've been feeling in that powder room. I feel like I've met him before. I just can't point ou
MALIA's P.O.V."Cheers!” I took a swig of the beer that was offered to me by one of the mansion servants. The drink was delicious, and I was enjoying it a lot. I just had my breakfast, but I got caught up in the moment.Who would've thought that the emptiness outside the hallway was because they were partying here in the hut?"Drink more!" Malia's P.O.V. "Ugh! This is what happens when I drink!" My head was pounding mercilessly. I woke up to the gentle touch of sunlight, its warm rays cutting through the fog of my hangover. In the midst of my groans, Cheska's voice broke through the haze, calling out to me. "Hey, Malia, are you awake?" Cheska's voice echoed from the door. "Callisto has been looking for you." Rubbing my temples, I regretted every sip of alcohol from the previous night. How could I have let myself lose control like that? Trying to gather my thoughts, or at least attempting to, I replied, "Tell him I'll be out shortly, Cheska. "I just need a moment to freshen up." Cheska's footsteps fade away, leaving me alone with my pounding headache and disheveled mind. I stumbled out of bed and made my way to the bathroom, hoping that splashing cold water on my face would bring some much-needed clarity. There’s a list of possible questions that people might ask us, and we made sure that we memorized them all.Since we have to pretend that we’re not pretending, we have to convince everyone that we really love each other.“I’m nervous.”He squeezes my arms and pats them lightly. “Don’t be afraid;

I scratched my head in confusion and asked, “You’re asking me to marry you, but it’ll be a fake marriage? Family, does he mean the mafia things? “Okay? Why don’t you just look for a wife that won’t pretend instead of asking me to do it? And besides, isn’t it supposed to be that the girl you’re marrying should be on the same level as you? Our eyes finally met. “Where did you learn such things? “On the TV?” At least, that’s what I know.
