Jasmine's POV
“Jas…” his soft call pulled me back to the present.I don’t know how much I cried, but I did so in his arms; he didn’t judge me, nor did he say anything… he just held me in his arms and let me.
“Do you want to get out of here or perhaps go in?” He asked, and I sniffed before answering, “Home?”
“I was hoping you wouldn’t say home; you can’t let their words get to you… you are beautiful, and I don’t know how my stupid son could let go of you so easily, but leaving proves them right”.
“What are you saying?”
“You seemed to have grown a nerve, but it isn’t enough. You are my date tonight, so we’d go in, and you’d do your best to stay away from your sister,” he whispered.
“Why?” I asked him as he wiped away the tears from my face with his face towel.
“Why what, kitten?”
“Your son…he did this, but you are helping me? You should be taking his side.” I asked, confused.
Everything was going according to plan.
Ignoring my question, he pulled me closer to him before whispering, “Let’s go. The night is still young!”
As we walked back in, my eyes met Jake's and Gwen's furious ones.
An angry Gwen was a careless one. I knew her next step, and luck was on my side. Just as Mr. Blackwood had walked away to exchange a greeting with someone, she walked towards where I sat with drinks.
"Why are you still here?"
"You really shouldn't stop watching over Jake on my account. After all, I am here with his father," I whispered to her with a smile before adding, "Think about it. What is Jake without his father? You claimed my trash, and I aimed higher."
"How did you manage to live?" Gwen demanded, her eyes blazing with anger.
I just smiled sweetly. "Let's just say I have my ways. And besides, I think you'll find you're not the only one who can play games."
Gwen's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
I leaned in close. "I mean, I know all about your little secret. And I'm not afraid to use it against you."
Gwen's face went white as I turned and walked away. "What did she want?" Mr. Blackwood asked, causing me to shrug.
"Definitely not an apology!" I said back as I handed hiked the drinks she gave me.
I met her smirk and smile back; what she didn’t know was that I was aware…Very much aware that she had drugged us.
After many hours and too many bottles of liquor provided by Gwen, I slowly moved to the dance floor, holding his eyes.
His eyes lit up with a desire burning through my skin as I moved my body slowly, never looking away from the music.
Just then, a blonde bitch stepped in and whispered in his ears, something that made him frown while still holding my gaze.
Then I caught the movement of her hands downwards and looked away.
Grabbing a shot from the server's tray, I winced as the liquids burned my throat.
‘Con Calma’ suddenly started bursting through the speakers, and I got lost in it; I felt someone's arms around me… I recoiled in disgust, but no matter how I tried shaking him off, he kept pulling me back to his sweat-smelly self.
“Aren’t you dancing for a show?” He whispered a little bit too loudly.
“She is, but to my show!” I heard Mr. Blackwood bark before pulling me into him.
“His hands touched you!” He whispered harshly.
I smirked; even though I was drunk, I knew I was going with him with the man I wanted, “you seemed busy!”
I turned away from his words and grounded, shading him until he pulled me in my neck. “You are playing with fire, kitten!”
His deep voice purred in my ear, causing me to shiver.
“I like it hot! Dance with me, Mr. Blackwood!” I whispered as I turned to face him before pulling him closer.
“Was that a command?” he asked me as his lips curled into a smirk. He licked his lips slowly as he held me in place. I felt another hot stare, and I turned to watch Jake glaring at me, causing me to smile.
Surprisingly, he could dance.
We swayed to the music for a while, grinding, caressing, squeezing, his hands exploring everywhere.
The heat between us was causing me to burn under his touch.
“Isn’t this pave hot?” He asked before drawing my lips to his and kissing me slowly.
I moaned and escaped my lips as his tongue sucked on my lower lips before I granted him access…. He didn’t need to beg!
His hands snaked down my body once more. Grabbing my butt like it was yours, and I felt it once again… Jake’s glare.
“Take me home, Mr. Blackwood!”
He said nothing as his hands wrapped around my waist as we returned to his Rolls-Royce ghost. While in the car, we spent the ride home kissing crazy teenagers.
The last thing I remembered was our clothes being flung onto the ground beneath us.
Hours later, I woke up in an unfamiliar room. I tried to remember what had happened the night before, but all I had was a foggy memory.
Seeing the medicine he had left for me, I drank it before it all came hitting, Gwen's drugs had led us here, but I had blanked out and wasn't sure if at all we had sex or perhaps I had spoken too much!
While still in thought, Mr. Blackwood walked in with a towel around his waist.
I stopped myself from laughing at his shocked face; he hadn't expected me to be up as he left. “Jasmine…. YOU ARE UP!”
“Yes sir, you look like you are quite in a rush,” I mentioned with a scowl plastered on my face.
“You probably regret last night, and I wanted you to be less embarrassed when you wake up!”
“Embarrassed?” I asked, bursting into laughter before adding, “There is no way I am embarrassed… last night was a blast, and rather than walking the walk of shame, I have an offer for you.”
“Marry me, Mr. Blackwood.”
Jasmine's POV. "Have you lost your mind?" Mr. Blackwood stared at me with bulging eyes flickering with various emotions that made me realize that he was going through a lot of internal turmoil–the most prominent: shock! He probably hadn't heard something like this in his life. I was glad to see him in such a confused state. "It's a pleasure to see you stunned, Mr. Blackwood." He pinched the bridge of his nose as he tried to gain momentum. "Let's just say that this is remotely true, why the hell will you proposition me?" I smacked my lips cheekily, winking at him afterward. Men were often not accustomed to the fact that ladies were now taking charge of certain situations. "How is that a problem, darling?" He stared at me in shock and I couldn't help but burst into laughter. Pointing at his face with one finger, I smacked my second hand with the other. "My goodness, you make me laugh! You should see your face!" I laughed. He crossed his arms over each other while sho
Jasmine's POV.From the way his brows creased in confusion, I knew that I had an opening. It was now up to me to seize it with both hands or just keep staring at him without answering any questions. "What the hell do you mean by that?" "Exactly what I said, baby..." I drawled, smirking lightly. A flicker of emotions ran through his face causing me to chuckle softly. "That's the most ridiculous thing that I've ever heard. I know that you're cross with Jake which is understandable but spinning lies on him, is too low for even you don't you think?" He accused me. I sighed and rolled my eyes in frustration at the way he was handling things. I was sure that he was feeling a certain way but that didn't mean that I was lying. "You know what? Why don't you just call him and ask if I'm telling the truth or not before writing me off completely. We've come a long way." I drawled again, knowing that it would piss him off. It went accordingly. His eyes narrowed angrily at me and I chuckled.
Jasmine's POV. The sound of people talking animatedly woke me up and I groaned as I tried to understand what the hell was happening. I looked at the television and saw a few reporters arguing over the GDP and whatnot.I hissed, reached for my phone and unlocked it with my fingerprints. It was still a few minutes shy of noon. I had slept for so long. A good three hours. I forced myself to go into the bathroom and wash myself clean of the previous escapades. Who would have thought that I would proposition a man? Not just any man, my father in-law! Now that I thought about it, it sounded so weird to me and I was a bit worried for what this could mean. It wouldn't be an easy task convincing him to agree to my terms and conditions, seeing that he was probably straight-laced and would see this as a mess. I just wanted to get back at Jake but I wanted it to be in a way that he left expected. I knew that he would have been shaking in his boots after hearing this but I wished I was there t
Jasmine's POV. When I got downstairs I adjusted my sunshades so that I didn't get easily recognized. A bodyguard ushered me to the car waiting at the curb and I rolled my eyes when I saw a Lamborghini sitting prettily waiting for me. The driver opened the door as soon as I got closer and I walked in. Mr blackwood looked straight ahead, pretending not to see me, and I rolled my eyes again. If we were going to have a conversation where we had to team up he had to reduce his ego because it wasn't going to work for me. "Who thought that I'd see you again?" I inquired from him stylishly, acting like I didn't know he was angry or needed that information so badly. "Maxwell start the car." He ordered. I was happy hearing his voice, so I decided to tease him a bit by placing my arm on his thigh. A flicker in his gaze showed me that I was unto something. "Do you realize that this is inappropriate? You are not under any influence so I would not excuse your behavior." He sna
Jasmine's POV Now I was fuming! We appeared right before the elevator and I rolled my eyes angrily. I wasn't expecting that he would speak to me at least just yet. "Don't smile at anyone." "You're not my boss." I replied and he looked at me with a small smirk that would seem unnoticeable. "I am not but if we are going to venture into marriage, we need to set some ground rules." His eyes flashed with heat as he took a sweeping glance across me from head to toe. "What?" "Yeah... This is exactly what I imagined you to be like. It's not going to become a good business if we don't set some ground rules. I know that you're always ready to fight me and stuff like that, but this won't work if we don't do the right thing. I won't allow you be the boss, darling." The elevator dinged and I turned toward him. "you are kidding me right now." I muttered and he grinned at me, his eyes gleaming with an emotion that I couldn't place my finger on. "What the hell?" I repeated. "We d
Jasmine's POV My eyes widened in shock the instant I heard that. This wasn't what I expected at all, were they kidding me right now? This was balderdash! "I'm sorry but it seems like you guys are making a huge mistake." I butted in instantly. Mr Blackwood placed a hand on my arm to stop me from being annoyed but I shrugged it off, "which of his partners do you suggest should go?" I inquired from the man that kept staring at me keenly. If there was any reason whatsoever, then he had to make it plain before everyone. "I meant that, be all know that Donovan loves women. How else can we get to him except sending a lady whom I believe he would be interested in?" The man responded. I gazed at Mr Blackwood to understand how this was going to play out. If they thought I was going to risk my neck just to get them some information then they had another thing coming. "Gentlemen, I sincerely think that we all should calm down. It won't be easy dealing with Donovan especially now that
Jasmine's POV. "So tell me exactly what you want to achieve from this venture?" Mr Blackwood inquired as soon as I sat on this chair. I rolled my eyes at his pushy attitude. Of course he was going to ask such a question, that was the only way he could satisfy his curiosity which wasn't that bad anyway."I think I need to rest before answering this interrogation." I answered. We could play the same game. If he wasn't going to dance to my tune there was no need for me to give the information that he so needed. It was as simple as that. He focused on typing on his tablet but I didn't feel slighted at all. Instead I took that time to plan my next strategy. With what I had known about him, it was evident that he only wanted the piece of information without the conditions attached. "How do you even have connections with Donovan or anything going on in the underworld?" He inquired but I pretended not to hear. He tapped my arm and I smiled at him. "Oh sorry I didn't hear you. What is the
Jake's POV"Gwen, I hope you have gotten all the bags ready. It's getting late. I don't know why you didn't allow Amber to pack all your things. We don't want to miss our flight just because of a pair of shoes." I called in annoyance. She was getting on my last nerve and right, and she was spinning. "Baby..." She called the high-pitched pitch, and I shook my head. It was going to go down. "Why are you fretting?" She inquired as her feet slapped across the stairs. I rolled my eyes. My wife never hurried, even if her life depended on it. "Why am I fretting? Do you know how much it would cost to reschedule our flight? I didn't even have the patience to go through all that stress. If we miss the flight today, then we can kiss it goodbye," I told her sincerely. Many people didn't like hearing the truth because they felt it was too hard to accept. "So you don't love me anymore. What happened to doing everything I wanted? You promised, Jake, that you were going to do everything I wanted,
