Prologue
Ashira's POV
Werewolves do exist. Before, it was just a myth. A way to scare the children or to keep the teens from going out too much.
But it is real. Werewolves are real.
I knew this because I am one of them. I'm living proof of the myth. I'm a She-Wolf.
Humans don't know we exist. Not from the outside world.
"Ashira!" A cheery sweet voice took my attention from gazing out.
My friend, Lucy, came running in my direction. Just like me, she was wearing a white thin satin dress that is just above the knee. We both are wearing wood-made sandals.
If you're going to compare the way we're dressed, we'll look so weird despite the age and year we are in.
We have no underwear inside the thin white dress. The wood sandals are even made by the elders of the pack.
But this is not the way we dress up.
A sacred ceremony will be held and we just need to dress like so.
It's a pack tradition.
Werewolves like us need to stick together. We have our pack. Me and my friend, Lucy belong to the Regal pack under the reigning of Alpha David together with his Beta, Eric.
Eric, the Beta of Regal, is the one who took me in and acts as my guardian.
I was once a Rogue. A lone-wolf. I don't know who my parents were or if I belong to another pack before. I have no memories of my childhood.
All I remember was waking in the middle of the forest and being found by Eric. He's already a Beta at that time.
Eric's mate, Ophelia, accepted me as their orphan child. They also have a son named Cruz, he's a couple of years older than I am.
I get along well with Eric and his family. Cruz is even overprotective like I am his sister. Overall, I settled in this pack even though I'm practically an outsider.
"You looked excited, Luce," I said to her when she came near me. We walked sideways towards the line where the other She-Wolf is. They wear the same kind of dress.
"And you're not? We're talking about mapping here! Of course, I'll be hell-bent!"
Mapping is a pack tradition. It's held annually before the end of the year. Now, it's happening five days before Christmas.
Mapping is a sacred ceremony and is one of the most important events for every pack.
It's not just the Regal pack that held this ceremony. Every pack all over the continent does.
We'll be able to know from which pack our mate is. This is the main concern of the mapping.
Each wolf has their mates. If a wolf is not able to meet its mate, it won't have the chance to produce a pup.
Even if a wolf had sex with every wolf, you'll not be able to get pregnant unless it's your mate.
A wolf can only produce their heir with its mate. So finding a mate is a must especially for the Alpha of the pack. Even for the Beta and third-in-command.
They'll need their mate to continue their legacy.
It's not easy to pick a Beta or Gamma. Those high-rank positions are mostly inherited. Unless that bloodline will betray the Alpha then they will banish that bloodline from having a position in the high ranks.
I just shrugged the thought of finally locating my mate. I'm not interested.
"I'm just waiting for this moment ever since I was born." Lucy's eyes are even sparkling as she said that.
That reaction is very common. Most of the She-Wolf is waiting for this moment of their life.
But not me. I don't have any butterflies flying on my stomach whenever the word mate is involved.
"How does this work again?" I asked. I knew most of the pack laws and its system but I never dig deep when it comes to anything about mapping or mates.
"You're so uninterested, Ashira. Aren't you excited to meet your mate?"
I shrugged only to answer her question. She rolled her eyes at me.
"Whatever. So here," she points to the house of the enchantress. "There's a sacred knife inside and you'll cut your palm with it. You'll let the blood drop on the map and it will do its magic." She explained with excitement."
"How?"
She lumped her shoulders and looked at me like I'm unbelievably naive.
"This thing is taught to the toddlers and you don't know?" She scuffed.
I scowled at her.
"Whatever. So when the enchantress does her chant, the part of the map where you're mate is will glow." She said, having sparkles in her eyes once again.
"Technically, we won't know who exactly our mate is," I stated. That sounds like a job.
"Exactly! Isn't it exciting!" Her voice almost made me cover my ear.
I scowled. "Exciting how?"
Lucy rolled her eyes at me. "We'll go to where they are, duh! First, we'll be able to visit other territories."
"Only if the mate is not from our pack." I cut her and shrugged.
"Whatever, Ashira! Oh! And second, we'll be accommodated by the other pack. That's like having a free vacation with a place to stay and free foods to eat!" She screams the last words.
"You sound like they don't feed you here." I cut again.
She ignored me this time.
"Third, we'll finally have the chance to attend the annual mapping party!"
Every year, every pack celebrates the annual mapping party. On the same dates, the Alpha's agreed on.
This year will be held the night before Christmas. So that the She-Wolves will have their time to travel to the packs where the mapping leads them. And to prepare themselves.
There are She-Wolves from other packs that come here every annual mapping party. And they'll meet their mates at the party.
The same will happen to us soon.
Every year, the Regal pack loses its She-Wolves. And every year new She-Wolves from other packs were added.
It's like exchanging the women of packs. But for a reason.
The men cannot leave the pack. Only the She-Wolves can.
It's not possible for male wolves the transfer to another pack. The female should always transfer. That's every pack's law.
The loyalty of the men wolves is essential.
Also, it's a pack law so even the men like to switch packs, they can't unless they go Rogue. But only a few packs accept Rogue as one of them. Rogue tends to have a traitor's blood. That's how packs see them.
"Any worst-case scenario?" I asked Lucy again. The long line is now a few. I guess the process of mapping is easy. We're almost next.
Many girls came out of the enchantress's house with wide ear smiles. Knowing where their mate is causing a rampage in their system. I can't relate.
Lucy somehow thinks of an answer to my question.
"Hmm, as far as I heard, there's a wolf before that loses her consciousness. Practically, blood loss. She cut way too deep on her palm. But that's the worst I know."
Okay. I don't think I'll be stupid enough to cut myself deep.
"Oh my God! I'm next!" Lucy screams. I just smiled and gave her a light push. Not feeling any excitement.
Lucy went inside and I'm the next in line. I looked around me and noticed that there's only one girl left behind me.
I took note of her excitement gushing through her aura. She looked like she'll pass out any second from being thrilled in knowing her mate.
"You wanna go first?" I asked. I knew she'll love to.
The girl's eyes widened and sparkle with hope. "I can?!" She screamed, making my ears ring for a bit.
I smiled and gave way for her to make a cutsie.
"Thank you! Thank you!" She jumped-walk past me.
A few minutes and Lucy came out of the house. There's a red cloth wrapped in her left hand just like the others before her. Maybe it helps to stop the bleeding but that's weird since we can heal fast.
Lucy was grinning like crazy. She sure is in high spirits.
"Ashiraaaaa!" She jumped on me and hugged me tightly. The girl I made a favor already run inside the Enchantress. "my god! I know where my mate is!" Lucy screamed once again that made a whizzing noise in my ears.
"I'm happy for you. Yay." I said, trying to sound cheerful while I rubbed my ears without her seeing.
"Won't you ask me more?" I was confused at first. Hell, this girl just wants to be even more thrilled.
I just laughed as I saw her eyes glittering, lips pouted... "Okay. Where!?"
"Shadow pack!" She screamed again. Damn, my friend!
"Wow!" I exclaimed.
Shadow pack is the second strongest wolf pack. Most wolves in that pack are fighters. They also outrun the other packs in numbers.
Our pack, the Regal, is fourth in line in the strongest pack. We also have a lot of wolves that made us earn fourth place.
We're mostly women but we made that as an advantage. Our She-Wolves are also fighters. Some even are the best.
I was about to talk more and congratulate her when the before me came out of the house. Her eyes mirror the same sparkle every girl had.
"I guess I'm next," I said to Lucy. She nodded nonstop with excitement.
I walked through the door of the house of the enchantress. Once inside, I was welcomed by the dark with only the dimmed lights from the candles on someplace.
A circle wooden table is in the middle of the living room. There's a huge map in its middle, a box on the side, and five candles formed into circles in the shape of a Star.
Behind the table is where the enchantress is seated. I can barely see her because of the dark.
When my eyes adjusted, I saw her almost in her fifties.
"Come closer, Wolf." The enchantress said, almost a whisper.
I did.
I'm not nervous nor afraid but my feelings are uncanny.
This place feels so heavy. I wonder why. Should I felt this way? I feel so different from the way the other She-Wolves react.
The ambiance of the place somewhat gave me a light fear. Not enough to make my knees tremble though.
It's like my Wolf is saying something. Somehow telling me danger. At least, how I felt.
"You know what to do." The Enchantress said. She sounds tired and bored. Like, she has been doing this thing all her life and she's just not into it.
I looked at the table in front of me. I looked at the box beside the map. Inside, I saw the sacred knife laying flat. Almost waiting for me to take it.
There are two wolves, hugging each other carved as the knife's handle.
I picked it up and put its edge on my palm. I inhaled deeply as I start cutting through my palm but not deep enough.
It stings a bit. My forehead is knotted as I let my blood drop on the map.
Once my blood dropped on the map, it was quickly absorbed.
That explains why there's no stain of blood on the map after all those girls before me.
I put the knife down inside the box again. I almost growled when the enchantress took my hand hastily.
Her move is fast, it also made me think she's weird.
She wrapped my hand with a red cloth just like what others have.
After, she looked at the map, waiting for the result. I did the same.
I looked at the map as well. There's no light from it yet. I was pretty sure Lucy said it will glow or something.
A few seconds and a round little glow was visible in a part of the map.
The enchantress's eyes looked even bored than it already is.
"Prime pack." She announced, no emotion can be detected in her voice.
Once informed of where my mate will be, I started turning my back to the enchantress. It's all done.
I was about to take a step when another light showed on the map. And then another, and another. Almost every part of the map is glowing!
The map took my entire attention. I'm not sure what's happening and confusion sure displayed on my face.
"What—" I was about to ask but I stopped before I could.
I don't understand any of
it. The map and its glowing lights are too distracting. My wolf has a lot of questions. Confusion and fear slowly crawled on me.
The Enchantress's expression didn't help me at all. She looked shocked. With a light fear.
"W-What's happening..." I managed to ask. Is this supposed to happen?
"You're a stealer!" She screamed.
Her voice sounds hysterical. From the sound of her voice and her expression, I know there's something wrong.
Stealer? I'm not a freakin' theft!
But what does she exactly mean?
I slowly walked backward. Away from the table. Away from the map. Away from the Enchantress.
'Ashira. Go home. Now!'
That was Eric talking to me through our mind link.
I didn't think twice when I heard him. I ran fast, heading outside of the house.
Lucy was about to come near me but I immediately shapeshifted into my beautiful white wolf.
I and my wolf is so confused. I can hear my wolf whining. And somehow, she sounded angry.
I can hear Lucy calls my name but I did not bother looking back.
I ran towards home. All I want now is a talk with Eric.
He must know something about this stealer thing or else.. I'll go insane.
Cruz's POV"Ashi's on her way," I told my Dad, Eric. "I don't understand what's happening, Dad." My voice can't stop sounding frustrated.I was with my Dad on a pack meeting when Dad received a message from the enchantress through the mind link. He's the Beta. Every concern comes to him.Today was the Mapping where the She-Wolves who reached the age of eighteen will know where their mate is from.Something goes wrong with Ashira's mapping process. That's what I was sure of.We immediately drove home once we received the news."Let's wait for Ashira. She must be looking for answers, as well. Once she's home, we'll talk."My Dad said and he entered the door to his study. My mom, Ophelia, followed right after. My Dad is the Beta of our pack. Regal pack. Alpha Aiden's POV'We got trespassers.'My Beta, Nick, informed me through our mind link. Disturbing me from doing my thing.I growled as I pushed the She-Wolf who's straggling above me, kissing me hungrily. My wolf is in heat and it's so thirsty for sex these days... This girl on top of me is just one of many that I had today. Just as playtime. A way to ease my raging libido which is too eager to be pleased. The girl looked at me with a shocked face. Probably puzzled that I pushed her. We already fucked a couple of times and I can't feel any exhaustion. I want more. No, it's not the girl I that I want but... just sex.Still, Nick's news can't be ignored. I'm the Alpha of the strongest pack in this region. It's against me to prioritize pleasure over my responsibilities. And whoever trespassed my territory is brave enough to do so. N
I woke up from soft knocks on my door. Brushing my eyes with the back of my palm, I slipped on a robe and headed to the door.My head felt light when I woke up, feeling exhausted even after a deep slumber. I thought I can't sleep right away after the howl I had heard last night but my wolf is at peace, making me sleep soundly. None slightness feeling I'm near in danger.I was welcomed with a trolley pushed cart with food covered in cloche tray when I open the door. I can smell its delicious scent, almost savoring it. My stomach made a loud growl, making me feel how famished I was.No one was there. They just left the food behind. I pulled the trolley inside my room and closed the door, making sure to lock it again.'Food arrived, sleepyheads!' Someone mind-linked me and I was certain it was Ava. We are from the same pack and already met each other, being able to access the mind link.I guess she sent all five of us from Regal pack the same
"Never forget: You're always a villain in another's story."-jokerblade____________Ashira's POVOne last look at the mirror and I nodded to myself. I'm contented with my reflection. This is the best I can do anyway.I'm completely dressed up, ready to attend the ball. I fix my face with a light foundation since I'm not really a fan of it. I made my eyes in a light smoky black shade, just to emphasize my deep green eyes, and put some mascara on. I needed not to contour my face since its contrast is all in the right places, also-I don't know how to contour. My lips are in the shade of nude pink. My cheeks are naturally rosy and the thin foundation didn't cover it, so no need to put blush on.My hair falls straight in my waist not needing a straightener.I grabbed the invitation card, feeling my own life depends on this piece of paper, and
Thank you for reading this far!***His tight grip hurts my arm, making me flinch along with his dragging. I don't know where we're headed but we had passed the stairs, walking the hallway of the second floor. The loud sound of the music from the party didn't offset my heartbeat. Having him this close made every hair in my body stand, giving me such a newfangled feeling.I am relieved I found my mate but his powerful aura keeps making my knees tremble. I'm not okay with it but my traitor wolf is already submitting to his.'Stop being submissive! He hasn't claim us yet!'I nagged at my wolf but she just shrugged me off, I growled."I-I can walk!" I tried to make my voice tough but it came out in a whisper. I growled to myself, continuously nagged at my wolf.Aiden turned his head and looked at me, he didn't stopped walking nor let my arm go. His expression is somewhat in the middle
A lady in her thirties entered Aiden's office but I can't take my eyes off his back. I was not able to speak back to what he had said. I was left dumbfounded with the words I just heard.I'll never put my claim in you. Those words kept echoing in my ears while I felt numerous needle stabbed on my chest. I felt like I was poisoned by a venomous snake. My body's numb, my head feels hazy and my breathe hitched as I stare at Aiden's back. My wolf is in pain as well but its me who's taking most of the blow.I wanted to curse the bond between us. Not feeling its significance at the moment."My Luna," the lady greeted me with a low bow. She just acknowledged me as this packs' Luna yet my own mate think otherwise. Is he gonna reject me? He doesn't want me?Questions flood in my mind that I feel I'm going insane."Go with Aurea, she will assist you with everything you'll need. I don't want any male near you. Take that as a warning." A
I woke up embracing an unfamiliar feeling of emptiness. Only a faint smell of my mate is present in the house. He didn't come home last night. And there's a void inside of me that screams for my mate, for Aiden. My chest is heaving. Im starting to feel the need of seeing him and holding him. I want to wrap myself around him. This must be the second wave of the mate bond. Even if I don't want to feel this way, I can't control it.My anxiety towards the danger I may or may not be in, crept to me. Should I lock myself in his house until he'll claim me? But he said he would never do that. How should I live then?If some mateless wolf found me and claim me first before Aiden does, then I will be stolen from him. I was worried that might happen to me, I'm too attached with Aiden now. I can't think of myself away from him. Will all these affection fade once I'm claimed by another wolf?A part of me sides with the thought of being stolen
"Let's talk." His deep soft voice was heard behind the closed door.He tried to open the doorknob but stopped when he found that it is locked."Ashira."He called on me when I didn't respond to him. The way my name escaped his lips make me want to open the door and throw myself in his arms. Slowly, another wave of heat rose again within me. Making me groan softly. Damn it. The heat in me is present again.I clenched my hand on my chest, the breath heaving that is making me huff for more air. I hate how I feel when he's around, its confusing me."Open the door." His voice echoed on my head like I must heed on what he was saying. Is he using his power as the Alpha with me?I closed my eyes tight. Not anymore fighting the effects he sent to down my spine.I walked to the door and opened the lock. Slowly, I was met by the most beautiful golden brown eyes and I felt suffocated instantly.Everything around me blurring. Rewindi

I will soon, I know.I didn’t wait for Nick to say more and turned to go inside the office. After three days of preparation, the party is ongoing tonight at the pack’s clearing.Nick insisted for a wild party so he picked a bonfire theme in the heart of the Prime’s forest where booze and feast are served. I sat in the man-made stage together with the officials of the pack, and Aiden beside me.The pack people has started eating, drinking and dancing. Chapter 60Ashira’s POV“Just shift when the time has come… Please.”My tears pooled down my cheek. I don’t want to show him that I feel pity for him, I know that’s the least thing he needed to see. But its too painful for me to see him like this…“B-But I want to be the first one to hold him…”“You can still do that even on your wolf.” he responded, wiping the tears on my cheek.“But its different.” I pushed him and he didn’t resist this time. I looked him in the eyes and noticed that his eyes are red. He looked so soft, far from how he is and it pained me to know that I made him this way. If it ain’t for me, he wouldn’t feel like this.I tiptoed and pressed my forehead to his. Aiden’s hand easily gu
Ashira’s POVHave you ever felt waking up with a feathery feeling? I can feel like my body was flying in the air as if I don’t weight at all. It’s… so light. I feel so light.“It’s been three days. Why isn’t she waking up?”Aiden? Why is his voice so hoarse and tired? Did Nick stopped helping him out with the pack works and he was loaded with the job?I can feel a familiar warmth on my palm. Chapter 58.5Aiden’s POV“I expected you to, Aiden.” said the Alpha King Zeron. “I will give you time to discuss this matter with your mate. I’ll be back in an hour and meet you and your Luna at this serene place.”Discuss this with Ashira? Should I…?“One last question, Your Highness, if I may.” I bowed my head to him as my jaw tightens. I didn’t gave it a thought to discuss this matter with Ashira, I know she will not like it because of the current state of her mind right now.She don’t believe me or anyone. She might think I’m the one who’s stealing her.“Of course, my brave wolf.”I looked up and saw him and his eyes smiling again. I’m beginning to think that when he tries to control his annoyance, he does that
Chapter 58: The Alpha King’s OfferAshira’s POVI never saw the Alpha King in person, no one does. And seeing him now, his aura full of… darkness and power, I feel my knees trembled. As if I snapped in my own thought, I bowed my head like Aiden did.“A-Alpha King.” I uttered in a trembling voice. He didn’t even do anything to scare us but I feel this way…“At ease, my wolves. I’m not here for harm, as I’ve said, I’m here to help.” his voice really makes everyone who heard it shake. I get it that his power is beyond anyone because of the combination of wolves of all continent under his reign but experiencing it right now in flesh is just too surreal. We lifted our heads and I was welcomed by an oceanic blue eyes. Chapter 57.5: Arrival of the King (Part Two)Ashira’s POVTwo weekshad passed.I recovered a little from the pain of losing my mate. I got the hang of living in this pack and being with their Alpha, Aiden. He come and go from time to time but not a single day has passed that he don’t visit. We talk. I still hate him but we talk. I don’t know why I feel different when he is around. Not until the dark comes.I still cry whenever a picture of Elon pops out of my head but it often happens at night and it deprives me of having enough sleep. Chapter 57: Arrival of the King (Part One)Aiden’s POV*Slap!*I don’t mind the sting I felt on my face but Ashira’s slap also struck my heart with an intolerable pain. I was stunned and unable to move from where I stood, even my face won’t tilt back and my eyes has feared seeing her current expression.“You can’t fool me!”Even her voice has a hint of pain in it that my chest felt heavy and clenched. I tried talking to her about the truth again today. She has rested and slept outdoors last night and I let her be, trying not to distract her.I watched her sleep from far.I waited for her to wake up, asked someone to bring her some food. She ate. A little. But she was still dozing off and now she is crying. Mad, angered, lonely, and hurt. That is all I cou
