Jasmine let out a sigh as she looked at her phone in her hand. This was the third time she'd called Ethan, yet the calls were again diverted to voicemail. Now that four weeks had passed since he left, the calls and conversations had also become more sporadic and scarce. He had made sure to call her once, but his tired and weary voice was easily recognizable.

After cutting the call, Jasmine was left with a feeling of emptiness. She looked out at the balcony, her emerald eyes darting towards the big gate that was safely secured.
