CHAPTER FORTY FIVE

The questions started to pour like rain.

' They were rumors that you sent your wife to jail, how true is that? '

Aurora couldn't breathe, she was feeling light-headed, most of all, she wanted to disappear from their midst, but that was something impossible.

"Mrs. Tremont, a source spoke that you tried to kill your mother-in-law, was that the reason you were imprisoned?" A faceless voice from the crowd yelled.

Aurora's heart was thumping too fast, she was going to suffer from a panic attack. Suddenly, her fingers were enclosed in warm larger ones. She lifted her head sideways to stare at Tremont, her heart missing a beat when she found him studying her closely.

Confusion raced through her mind, didn't he bring her here to humiliate her? Why was he clasping her hand?
