Chapter 3 - Left Behind

"Hey watch it", Freddy said to Laureffaine as they had almost bumped into each other.

Laureffaine moved around Freddy and placed her food on the dining table, before turning to the guy.

"I'm so sorry Freddy, I don't know what's wrong with me", she apologized.

"It's your mate, he's getting to you without doing a thing"

"He's not my mate", she whisper yelled.

"You can only say that to yourself, but we very well know the truth. And you can't ignore the fact that you're mates, what are you going to do about Jorge huh?", He asked the latter.

"What's with Jorge?", She shook her head.

"Wait, you don't know?",

He raised his eyebrows.

"Nevermind", he said quickly and was ready to leave.

Laureffaine stood infront of him, blocking his path.

"Answer me, what happened to the boy", she demanded to know.

"Nothing"

This was his short reply. Xavier would have his head if he said anything. But he thought Laureffaine knew already. This was about her, her problem to worry about.

"Cut the crap and tell me already, please", she begged.

Freddy couldn't do anything but to tell her the truth.

"He got captured by your mate, until you go back to him, he's keeping Jorge."

"Oh my Goodness, I left him behind, I left y'all behind", Laureffaine quickly turned around.

"Hey, where are you going?"

"To speak to your Alpha", she yelled.

Making several heads at the dining table to look at her.

"Pack stuff", she cleared her throat and walked away.

"At least have breakfast", she heard Freddy say through the mind link.

"I lost my appetite", she curtly said in her head.

She couldn't believe Xavier would hide all of this from her. This was definitely her problem. She didn't want to be with her mate but she wasn't going to allow Lily's mate to be taken away from her.

"Who are you to be making decisions for me?, Hiding things from me?, Things that clearly have nothing to do with you", Laureffaine yelled as she barged into Xavier's office, slamming her hands on his desk.

"Laure calm down and remember who you're talking to", he glared at her as he sat comfortably in his seat.

"Ofcourse I know who I'm talking to Xavier. You have no right to hide the fact that a teenager was kept away from his mate from me, when I am the reason he's in such a predicament"

"What do you expect me to do?", Xavier stood up, meeting Laureffaine's stance.

"Maybe you could have started by telling me my mate was keeping a teenager hostage", she returned his glare.

"He's not your mate, he doesn't own you I do, he doesn't deserve you I do, never call him your mate understand", he yelled in her face as he grabbed her arm fiercely.

She whimpered as tears blurred her vision. She liked the fact that he was getting upset with the thought of someone else having her.

It made her believe that he actually loved her.

But she had never witnessed this version of him before, so aggressive, he was hurting her.

"You're hurting me Xavier", she whimpered.

He held her even tighter.

"Xavier, it really hurts, you're hurting me", she sobbed.

This seemed to catch his attention as he let go of her arm.

"I'm sorry Laure", he came to her side of the desk and pulled her into his embrace.

"I just can't think straight when it comes to losing you, please forgive me", he apologized.

"It isn't really your fault, I just don't want you to be keeping such things from me, I'm not your Luna but this is very much about my life. I'm just scared", Laureffaine confessed as she held Xavier's face in her palm.

"He can't take you away from me, before he can try, I'll kill him with my bare hands", he seethed.

"I'm happy to know you'd stand up for me but I don't want you anywhere near him, he's dangerous"

"What danger is a Rogue to an Alpha?", He scoffed.

"You don't understand Xavier, he looks normal but I know he's not normal. I can feel it within me, he's dangerous", she moves out of his embrace and pulls at her hair.

"Enlighten me", he smirks and pulls her into his embrace again.

"I'm serious Xavier", she rolls her eyes.

As Xavier remains quiet, she takes this as a go-ahead to continue.

"I watched him take a Vampire's heart out. I watched him rip a Vampire apart and he hadn't even transformed into his wolf", she swiped her nose up in disgust.

"Wolves kill Vampires Laureffaine", he reasoned.

"But not a single wolf killing three of those vicious blood sucking creatures at a go and might I add in Wolf form", she explained sarcastically.

"Did you have breakfast yet?", Xavier asked.

"Don't change the question",she rolled her eyes.

"Okay, we have a plan to rescue Jorge and you're not coming with us", Xavier said, leaving no room for argument.

"But why not, I'm the Lead Pack warrior, I have to be there", Laureffaine put on her best puppy dog look.

"You're not coming and it's a command"

Now she knew he was dead serious. He never commanded her, unless he was being real serious.

"Don't leave the Pack House until we're back. We'll have to take new measures in protecting the Pack. He could get in anytime he wishes, remember we share the same land", he said in a warning tone.

"That's another topic to talk about later", she whispered but Xavier heard her just fine.

"I'll be in my room, bye, and bring Jorge back safe and sound", she smiled as she pecked Xavier's cheeks and left his office.

If she knew she was going to find her mate in Dead Groove, she would have never entered the forbididen part of The Blue Lake Creek Pack.

Now all she could do was wait to see how things went.

"Lauren, please bring my breakfast to my room", she mind linked one of the Omegas.

"Sure Miss", she replied through the link.

Laureffaine took a book from her side drawers to read, just to pass time.

Just then she saw bruises on her left arm.

She got up to her closet and took out a long-sleeved blouse to cover the bruises.

A knock came from her door just as she settled in bed.

"Come in Lauren", she replied.

"Just put it on the coffee table", she added without even looking at the person.

"I see for the first time in history the mistress didn't follow the master like a lost puppy", a rather cold voice said compared to Lauren's sweet voice that Laureffaine wanted to hear.

"Oh Luna Kate", Laureffaine quickly got up and showed her neck to the red haired woman as a form of submission to her superior.

"You can cut the crap Laureffany or whatever you're called, there's no one here, I know very well what you and Xavier have been doing behind my back", she seethed.

"My name is Laureffaine Luna, and between Xavier and I, it's just friendship, you're imagining things", Laureffaine replied calmly.

She didn't want to get the red haired woman upset, not now that Xavier wasn't around.

"Where's Xavier?", Kate asked.

"I don't know Luna, I wasn't informed, I don't run the Alpha", she lied through her teeth.

"He finally decided to replace you with another mistress", she laughed but frowned when she realized Laureffaine wasn't going to say anything.

"You may be able to fool every one here with your innocent looks but not me, I know you and Xavier have been screwing each other", she glared at Laureffaine.

"It's not my fault that you feel insecure Luna but if that is what makes you sleep well at night, thank you, you can leave me to have my breakfast in peace", Laureffaine showed her the door.

She stomped her feet like the spoiled brat that she was and quickly rushed out of the room.

Almost crashing into Lauren and Laureffaine's breakfast.

"Place my breakfast on the coffee table please", Laureffaine smiled at Lauren and the lady did just so.

"Miss don't let her get to you, no one really likes her here and she's jealous, enjoy your breakfast", she bowed.

"Sure", Laureffaine replied.

Laureffaine held the door for Lauren as she walked out. Then picked up her breakfast and placed it on her bed.

She sat on her bed, with a good book in her hands, enjoying a good breakfast as she waited for Xavier to return with Jorge.

She just prayed that they returned safely with Jorge and the stupid Rogue Alpha wouldn't pursue her anymore.

She was quite okay with being a mistress, she would never be a Rogue Luna and that was a promise she made to herself.
