PRISCILLA'S POV

The elevator dinged, and I followed Brent down the hallway to his home, or should I say my former home? We'd had dinner and I wanted to pick the kids up from his place since they were with Salome. After the time Brent had kept them with her while he flew to California to help me, they'd been asking to stay with her again and so, I'd set it up when Brent offered to take me to dinner to celebrate something he still hadn’t told me.

I entered the house and looked around, masking my emotions. It looked the same I'd left it. Looking at every painting and decoration was bringing memories I'd love to forget back to memory. I had decorated this house with Brent back when we realized we had fallen in love with each other.

“What do you think? Doesn't the house look too empty for your taste?” Brent asked, caressing my hair.

I nodded. “I thought you preferred things like this, since you weren't home often.” I looked into his eyes and smiled at the look of love I'd been unaware of t

I remained rooted until I heard the footstep of someone approaching me. I shook my head again to get rid of the webs in my head and continued towards the living room with the intention of taking my kids and leaving. Suddenly, it didn’t sound safe for them to stay with Salome. “Mummy.” The twins called when they saw me, and they both ran to hug me. I bent down and held them tighter, allowing all my worries to fade at that moment. I looked up and smiled at them. “How was your day?” I asked and after about ten minutes of them describing how it had gone, using the word ‘Fun’ and ‘Amazing’ in almost all their sentences, they finally left to sit down and continue what they were doing. I stared at them, curious at what they were doing, and I smiled when I saw that they were both struggling with a rubix cube. I turned to Brent, who was giving me an amused look, and he shrugged playfully and patted the seat next to him. I shook my head and took the love seat that was next to him. “I thi

PRISCILLA'S POVI sighed and looked across my office to where Carlie was meant to be seated. since I'd entered the office that morning, the atmosphere had been tense, which meant what she'd done had been the topic of discussion before I arrived. Since Carlie was no longer trustworthy enough to leave the company to, I had to travel here even more now.Someone knocked on my door and I quickly sat up, no point in giving my employees even more to talk about. it hadn't been a secret that we were very close. "Come in."The door opened, and my new secretary brought in a file. "I compiled the list of all the people that have offered interest in working with us and partnering with us after the show."I collected the file and looked through it. "Why wasn't it sectioned? These contain agencies, celebrities as well as prospective partners. How am I meant to sort them all if they aren't sorted?" I asked her, intentionally making my voice softer. I'd yelled at two of my employees since the day had

Did she just use those three words together in the same sentence? That made perfect sense and made no sense at all at the same time. “What kind of tapes?” I asked, eyes wide open, fearing the answer.Carlie shrugged, pain filling her face. “What kind of tape would I have that can be used as blackmail material. Sexual tapes that I hope would never see the light of the day. ”I let out a loud expletive. “Did you agree to it? Don’t you know how dangerous it is? How often… how many do you have?” I asked, struggling to contain my fury. The next time her boyfriend and I unfortunately crossed path, I was going to kill him.She grabbed my hands and shook her head in response to my question. “It was a foolish mistake. I should have listened to you when you were worrying about me rather than getting angry. I found out a month ago that he had secretly been taking pictures and videos of me. What do I do?”I hugged her. “We’ll figure it out. Has he sold any of them or tried to threaten you with th

I hooked the strap on the wagon I'd brought for the day in case Aiden and Avery needed it. We were going hiking for a volunteering event for orphans and homeless, and I didn't think the kids would be able to walk sixty miles, hence, the wagon. The kids saw Brent coming, and ran to him, and I had to sigh. Who said taking children for a hike would be easy. We had not started, yet they were already stressing me out, wanting to see everything.Brent lifted Aiden and held Avery's hands as he waved at me.“You found this place easily, right?” He asked when he got to me, and I nodded.Brent had invited me to the event since his company was the one hosting it and even though it was a bit risky for me to be with him, especially with the twins. It was for a good cause and rejecting the invite seemed selfish on my part, so here I was. The event was pay to enter and all the proceeds from the entrance fee as well as everything that was sold at the rest stops were going to goodwill.I looked at the

What the heck? WHAT THE HECK???I started struggling to stand upright, and Brent pushed me until we weren’t so dangerously close anymore. My face was burning, and I wanted to disappear. I grabbed the wagon from Brent and stormed ahead, desperate to put some distance between us.BRENT’S POVI sighed and watched as Priscilla sought to escape me and I could guess how she was feeling, so I stayed put and watched her until she disappeared from my sight. After that, I couldn’t hide the stupid smile that came to my face. It had been years since I’d felt the touch of a woman against me since when I tried after the divorce, Priscilla’s face had been what I’d seen and dang, it had felt good.We still had about ten miles to go, but I was sure we were still going to meet. It was high time I told her what I felt. I gave her ten minutes because of the gentleman in me and after the time had expired, I started after my ex-wife. Life, I could feel, was about to get a lot more interesting.Sure enough,

PRISCILLA'S POVWe walked for several minutes without walking before I finally got the courage to glance at Brent from beneath my lash and I found him looking at me and smiling. I cleared my throat, trying to force out the embarrassment I was feeling. I had teared up because someone offered to be my friend. If that wasn't middle schoolish, I didn't know what that was.“It’s just been a while.” I explained vaguely and he nodded as if understanding all that sentence encompassed.“You mean since somebody looked at you and decided to lend a helping hand without you asking for it and not demanding your soul in return?”I stared at him, jaw in the air. He had explained it perfectly. “That's right. There is the consideration for you since you are a friend of her husband but she didn't have to offer…” To be my friend, I didn't finish the sentence. “Plus, she probably doesn't know about us, so it's a nice change of pace. I need a woman that will be on my side when we have an argument, especial

I tapped the floor and smiled as Aiden and Avery's face lit up with excitement as they sat down. I made it a duty to have this kind of conversation with the kids every few months when it feels like things were overwhelming for them and so far, I was sure this period was going to take the crown of overwhelming.“Did you enjoy the hike?” I asked and they both nodded. Avery sometimes wanted a break from silence and she had been stimming with some of her loud toys so her hearing aid was in.“I loved it.” Aiden said, nodding multiple times and I ran my hair through his hair, smiling at the adorableness.“I miss Ava and Eva.” Avery said and I nodded.“You had fun with them right?” I asked.“Yes. Can we go see them?” Avery asked and Aiden nodded. “I want to see Ava's books. She said she has a lot. I have a lot too.” He boasted.“Yes you do. Do they draw or paint?” I asked Avery and she shook her head.“Does that make you sad? That they can read with Aiden but not draw with you?”She shrugged

BRENT'S POVI basked in the sounds of machine whirring, forklifts humming and people shouting instructions as I entered the company warehouse. I was lucky enough to have been able to buy the lands that were near the warehouse, so expansion was possible, and now I had the warehouse of my dreams. It was sectioned into each of the things we were involved in. there was a different section for the hotel wears and items, restaurants and the management of art, but the best part of it was the fact that neither section could disturb the other.Ever since I was a child, this had been the place that had appealed to me the most. It was so easy for me to get caught up in the stress and boundaries that surrounded me in my office, but the warehouse was the place I was able to let out everything and de-stress. I breathed in the familiar scent of dryness and checked my watch. I had about ten minutes to kill before I had to show Sylvester around. All the contracts had been signed, and we were official

PAMELA'S POVI remained on the floor after Brent pushed me off and ran after that woman. I looked around in shame, grateful that this did not happen in a public space. That bitch! What the hell was she doing here at the wrong time?Just when I was so close to reaching his soft spot for me, she just had to come in and ruin everything with the bad luck that accompanied her everywhere. I contemplated on whether to stay and wait for Brent to realize what he's missing out on or leave to return later.I decided to do both so I waited and strolled around his office, patiently waiting for my man to return. As I looked across the office, something on his table caught my attention. It was a copy of his insurance statement and he had just three names on it asides his. The paper was poking out amongst the other files and while I resisted the urge to check out the content, I just couldn't control myself and eventually, I let the intrusive thoughts win.I pulled the piece of paper out and skimmed t

PRISCILLA’S POVBrent and I entered the kitchen and I gently locked the door behind us to avoid having any of the twins coming in after us. The air between us was thick with tension as we both waited with bated breath for the first person to break the deafening silence. I found myself staring at my feet as though they'd suddenly gotten interesting. Brent's eyes were boring holes into me that made me uncomfortable and squirmy. “I-” We both started simultaneously and our eyes locked in contact. I broke the stare by looking away and taking a deep breath. Thinking about it, I realized I was only being insensitive and petty to have tried to take the kids away from him. “Brent, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have tried to take the kids from you, I wasn't thinking properly and I let my anger cloud my sense of reasoning. I wasn't even thinking straight. I'm so sorry.” I apologized sincerely and his hands slowly reached across for mine. He held my face up to look at him and when I did, I saw that

BRENT’S POVI was fuming angrily as the car zoomed off from the school building, I couldn't believe she would try to pull such trick without listening to my side of the story. The events of today made me realize that if anything goes wrong between Priscilla and I, my kids would be the first people I'd lose and I didn't want that. I felt a gentle tap on my leg and finally glanced at Avery who had a crestfallen look on her face. “Daddy, what's going on?” She asked innocently and I became even angrier. How do I explain to this kid that this happened just because of their mother's insecurity? When I didn't respond on time, she tapped me again. “Where's Aiden?” “Are we going home?” She signed and I palmed my face in my hand. How do I deal with this mess? I was livid, not just at Priscilla but everything else. Today was meant to be a good day, today was meant to go well without hitches, now I only had to deal with hitches but bumps as well. “Yes, yes, we'll go get Aiden later. For no

Despite acting like she didn't care, Priscilla was fuming and raging inside, especially as the scene she walked in on in Brent's office wouldn't stop repaying in her head. Enraged was an understatement for what she felt, buttered was more like it. She wasn't expecting Brent to be loyal to her but seeing him with the same woman who broke their marriage the first time, hurt her. She'd gone to his office to give him a copy of the twins' itinerary since she thought it'll be good for them to spend more time together but she would never have expected what she saw. Priscilla's pov I had no idea why tears were stinging in my eyes as I walked out of the sensory door. Back in the elevator, it took me extreme self control to not yell and break down in his presence. I staggered to my car, making sure to act like I was fine but deep down, I wasn't. I was hurt, angry, enraged but there was nothing I could do about it and knowing that, hurt me more than the action itself. I went into my car and

After several days of planning and scheming, Pamela finally decided she was ready to go pay a visit to Brent at the company. She fussed all over her body and dressing as she made sure to expose her cleavage, thighs and applied excess makeup on her face. To her, Brent had always been attracted to her and this time, there's no doubt he'll fall for her flat. However, she chose the wrong time. BRENT’S POVIt took a while to get to the cake shop but when we did, I made sure to make a careful selection of what I'd be buying for the twins. “I'll take this one and that one.” I said, pointing at a red and brown cake. The lady attending to me had her face stuck in a pad but I didn't care, as long as she got my order out correctly. “Okay sir. I'll have them packed for you in a minute.” She said going behind the counter. “Wait, you're going to give me these already made cakes?” I asked in confusion and she nodded like I'd said something weird. “Yes, definitely. Is there a problem?” I could t

BRENT’S POV“Sir, your meeting with the president has been scheduled for this morning. Other plans on your appointment have been shifted to this after non, including the one with the executive board.” My assistant rolled out while I prepared for work in the morning. I took notes of everything to do but Priscilla's furious face won't stop appearing in my head. I know I made a mistake by not watching over the kids properly but she was overreacting and making it seem like she had to walk on eggshells around me whenever it comes to taking care of the kids. They're my kids as well and I should be given the opportunity to learn how to take care of them but how do I do that if she keeps monitoring and hovering around me like I'm some two years old who has no idea of his left hand to his right. I picked up my Rolex wristwatch from the catalogue and strapped it on. “Make the meeting with the president as brief as possible, I have more important things to do in the afternoon.” I said to my a

  • CHASING MY EX-CONTRACT WIFE   Chapter Fifty-One

PRISCILLA’S POVDid I lash out at him too much? Was I overreacting? Do I call him to apologize? I played with these thoughts as I tossed and turned around in my bed, unable to sleep. The image of the crestfallen look on my children's face reappeared in my head and I just couldn't get it out. I mean, it was just a bruise but I overreacted and ruined everything we had going on. “Ugh, Priscilla, such a nice way to ruin something beautiful.” I groaned and turned again. My thoughts won't let me fall asleep so I picked up my phone to scroll through the internet for a while and surprisingly, I found a text from Sylvester. I was hesitant to open it, considering how things went today but I had to take my mind off Brent so I opened the text. “Hi, Priscilla. It was really nice seeing your beautiful face today. I must say you look good, even better than before and it amazes me how you manage to maintain such beauty. Anyways, I'll be really happy if we can fix a quick day for our date. I have t

PAMELA’S POVUgh! This stinks as hell! I covered my nose as the stench of the abandoned house filled my nose and for the hundredth time, I cursed that bitch for taking my life away from me. Goodness! How did I end up here in the first place? I glanced around my environment and boy, was I irritated? That would be an understatement. There's so much to do yet the only thing I wanted was to lay in Brent's arms all day. I was contemplating leaving the house like this for a while until a big perched on my neck and buzzed in my ear, causing me to scream and fall over dome of the other dirty, nasty and smelly things. Uh uh, no, I can't leave it this way. I packed my luggage to a corner that was barely affected by the dirt in the house. After that, I proceeded to clean the house as much as I could. Everything was dirty and filled with the stench of loneliness and abandonment. The cushion had molds all over it while the center table and fan were covered in dust. I noticed a spider's web in

  • CHASING MY EX-CONTRACT WIFE   Chapter Forty-Nine

PRISCILLA’S POVOh God! I should've known! I found myself regretting it after listening to Aiden’s account of what happened at the park. Avery didn't say anything, probably because she felt bad for Brent but he still was the adult and should've remained in charge. I can't believe I let him take them out just once and he screwed up the entire thing. What if she had gotten into a bigger accident? What if she was being bullied? I pushed back the tears that threatened to spill because I couldn't let the kids see me crying. After applying first aid on her bruise, I ushered them upstairs but not without letting them say their goodbyes to Brent, because it would surely be a while before they get to go out with him like this again. He gave me an apologetic look after they left but that wasn't going to solve anything, in fact, it made things worse. The fact that he knew he should've been on his guards around them and failed to do so was just disappointing. I pulled him to the kitchen to pour
