As I entered the conference room of Anwil's corporate headquarters, I was struck by the tense atmosphere and the expectant faces of the board members. They were all waiting for me to sign the "Deeds of Ownership," a document that would give me majority control of the company. The moment I affixed my signature to the page, my life would change forever.

As I entered the room, I took in the various expressions of the board members, ranging from excited anticipation to resigned acceptance. I was struck by the conflicting emotions on Dalisay's face. Though she attempted to smile, I could see the pain and sorrow in her eyes as she prepared to give up her majority share of the company. A part of me wanted to feel sympathy for her, but I knew that this was a necessary step in reclaiming what was rightfully mine. I steeled myself against any feelings of pity.
