Six fingers

When I opened my eyes and realized it was morning, it took me a few minutes to regain my orientation. The anxiety that lasted all night was slowly fading away. I don't remember when I fell asleep, I just remember lying in bed thinking for hours, trying to get out of my current situation without having Eric come to my rescue later.

The room I slept in was beautiful and perfect. Every morning, sunlight would flood the room as Celia stepped in to pull back the heavy curtains. I told her I could do it myself, but she just ignored me and continued to prepare the room.

“She's not allowed to talk to me,” Eric said as he sat down on the edge of the bed. It's only been his second week at the mansion and he looks so tired, as if he's never rested. He kept complaining that he couldn't continue to wear clothes to sleep for the rest of his life. But he did it every night.
