The drive home was silent. Ellen was next to me in the car, but she was absorbed and focused on her phone. I guessed that she was checking on her brothers in Brazil. It was at that moment that I began to calculate what I was doing. Ellen wasn't like the others I'd met. She couldn't be. She hadn't done me any harm and she even cared about me.
