"So, the news about you and the famous model isn't true, is it?" Amber inquired as she moved a cup of hot chocolate closer to her.

"Yeah, it was just a misunderstanding," Julian nodded, raising his eyebrows briefly.

“Believe it or not, I was suspicious of the truth of the news from the beginning. Remembering how loyal you were to me makes me doubt that you could betray Mia like that,” the woman chimed in, completely not considering the consequences of her words.

Even though Amber had let go of the past, the secretary still didn't look at her that way. While holding back worry, the girl forced her lips to curl up.

“I was a fool to doubt Julian's loyalty to me,” Mia mumbled, disguising her newly growing jealousy.

A second later, Amber snorted as if mocking the secretary's words. “You're just wasting energy if you suspect Julian like that. He is not a man who easily moves to another heart. Don't follow my stupidity in the past.  Julian deser

"Do you really love that girl?" Amber muttered, grabbing attention. After shifting his gaze towards the woman, Julian lifted the corner of his lips. "Yes, so much," he said, sitting back down. "Beyond your past love for me?" Amber asked, clearly sounding disappointed. "Yes," Julian nodded without hesitation. He didn't want any more misunderstandings between them. Keeping her lips curved, the woman nodded. "Of course. That girl never hurt you,” she said, thick with regret. After one quick breath, Amber lifted her chin again. “Now that Mia is not here, you can answer honestly. If at that time, you knew that I did love you, would you give me one last chance?” In an instant, silence erupted. Through his flat gaze, Julian observed the look on his ex-lover's face. “Are you secretly hoping to shift Mia's position?” he inquired in a frozen voice. “To be honest …, I used to think so. But, I know that it's impossible," the woman

With a thunderous breath, Julian looked here and there. The man hoped to see his future wife nearby. Unfortunately, no matter how many times he checked every face, none of them could relieve his worries. "No," he sighed, shaking his head faintly. The man was still trying to deny the fact that Mia had escaped his surveillance. Knowing the ex-lover's panic, Amber suddenly tilted her head. "What's the matter, Julian? Why are you scared like this?” With trembling eyes, the man returned the questioning look. "Mia," the man said faintly. After swallowing hard, he stepped forward and grabbed the woman's arm. “We have to find her soon. She's in danger!" "What do you mean?" Amber asked without blinking. Her eyes clearly radiated astonishment. “Don't panic, Julian. Maybe she's just—" “Mia can't go without telling me!” the man rebuked, ignoring the people staring at him with furrowed brows in displeasure. Realizing that they had become th

“Stop your nonsense, Madam! My wife is not a kidnapper. Why don't you calm your daughter down first so we can hear from her?" Julian asked aloud. Getting such a challenge, the young mother suddenly swallowed hard. “My daughter is crying because she's afraid of this woman. What else do you want to know? Everything is clear,” she denied hoarsely. A second later, the woman knelt before her daughter. After draping the camera around her neck, she stroked the child's head. "Don't worry, Audrey. I won't let bad people come near you again. Now, stop crying." Instead of subsided, the little girl's sobs grew louder and louder. Without lowering hands from her face, she shook her head. “Look how scared my daughter is! How could you possibly believe that this woman is not a kidnapper?” the young mother cried with burning eyes. "Of course the child is scared. She imagines of being scolded badly after coming home from here,” a woman stated from behin

Knowing the reason for the man's panic, Mia was pensive. After a moment of silence, she let out a faint breath. "Sorry, I really didn't mean to make you panic."With a minimal smile, Julian nodded. "It doesn't matter anymore. I know that you just want to help the little girl. But ...," the man gave a pause and raised one finger, "from this moment on, don't leave without telling me. I don't want to go crazy for fear of losing you again.""Okay, I'll remember it well," Mia said, blinking firmly."Don't just remember, Mia, but do it," the man replied while fixing his lover's knitted hat.Through a thin curve of lips, the girl expressed regret. "Okay, I'm not going anywhere without you anymore."“Good,” Julian sighed before pulling the girl's head to meet his lips.As the couple rubbed each other's backs, a woman who had been listening to their conversation suddenly cleared her throat."Sorry to interrupt. "Too bad Miss Amber doesn't come down with us. We can talk longer in the cable car,” Mia muttered as she turned to the man walking beside her.“Perhaps, she doesn't want to bother us anymore. Just let her have fun with the snow up there," Julian implied, raising the corners of his lips and stroking the arm of the girl who was no longer wearing her knitted hat. It was not as cold as in the glacier palace anymore."Now, shall we return to the hotel?" the man continued, asking for confirmation.Instead of nodding, the girl just blinked. “If I want to go to the chocolate shop, is there enough time? I promised to bring Cayden lots of chocolate."Pursing his lips, Julian furrowed his brows for a moment. "I don't think it's a problem. While you are shopping, I can find tickets for both of us.”"Good. Then, let's hurry over there! We still have to pack our suitcases, and the train to the airport will also take time,” Mia said

"Is everything ready?" Julian asked after lowering the suitcase from the bed and pulling the handle.“Yes,” Mia answered as she zipped up. “My bag is fuller than when I came here.”While helping his lover lower the bulging suitcase, Julian smiled. "I'm sure Cayden would love to see you open the luggage.""I hope so. Otherwise, I will be very disappointed,” the girl joked before letting out a quick breath. "Let's go home!" she said, nodding confidently. The secretary refused to show the longing that had begun to grow in her heart.Knowing Mia's hidden feelings, the man spontaneously smiled. “After getting married, let's come back here for our honeymoon. We can continue this interrupted journey.”"That's a very good idea, Julian," the girl muttered as she formed a small curve with her lips."Yes, I know," the man sighed while putting his palm behind Mia's waist, signaling the girl to start walking out

"Are you nervous?" Julian whispered as the car they were traveling in had entered the airport area. While tightening her grip, Mia swallowed hard. "A little," the girl answered in a weak voice.Realizing how cold and sweaty his lover's fingers were, Julian tilted his head and put on a shady look. While stroking the back of the girl's hand with his thumb, he said, “Don't worry, Mia. Everything will be fine. Airport security has been tightened and policemen are on guard in several places.”"Sorry, Julian," the girl sighed as she couldn't lie to herself. “There is no way I can assuage this fear. I don't want anything bad to happen to you."Before the man refuted, Mia continued talking. “So let the tension fill my nerves. I need it to be more vigilant.”Realizing that his lover's words were true, the corners of Julian's lips lifted even though they were heavy. "You know what? After wetting the throat that was burning with anxiety, Julian wiped the cold sweat on his lover's white face. "Mia," he called hoarsely. "Sorry .... I'm sorry for not taking care of you properly." Instead of answering, the girl kept putting on a dreamy look. She didn't move at all. The eyelids that were raised to the maximum were reluctant to even make a single blink. "Mia?" Julian called in a more slicing voice. Not getting an answer, the man lowered his gaze towards the hole in Mia's shirt. Even though there was no blood flowing, he still felt uneasy. "Can we remove it now?" Julian asked the man who was busy listening to the voice from the small speaker in ear. "We'd better move your wife to a safer place first," the officer replied with a reassuring nod. “Okay,” the CEO sighed while placing his arms under Mia's back and knees. A second later, without waiting for a signal, he picked up the girl. "Where should I take her?"

"Whoa!" Cayden sighed as his father placed him on the back of a pony. With round eyes, he surveyed his height from the ground. Even though it was not much, the toddler in the cowboy hat still showed a happy smile. “How is it, Little Evans? Are you happy?” the woman who held the horse's rein asked. Not daring to move much, Cayden nodded at a limited angle. "Yes, Greta. I am happy. It's thrilling!” he answered enthusiastically. “Thrilling?” Gabriella muttered, furrowing an eyebrow. While continuing to rock her niece, the woman expressed astonishment. “Where did you learn that word, Little Prince?” "Daddy often mentions it," the toddler replied, successfully making his father wince. "Daddy said that the nights spent with Mom were always thrilling." As Gabriella glared at her husband, Greta burst out laughing. "Gosh, Max. I think you should be more careful now. Your genius son can absorb all the words you speak.” "Right. I'll be more caref

"If you kept avoiding me, I would really quit the company," Julian said, successfully freezing Mr. Hunt's steps. The old man was then blinking, digesting the words he thought he heard wrong. “Actually, my position as a CEO is being threatened for some reasons. I tried to keep it a secret from all of you. I didn't even let Mia know. But as it turned out, it wasn't easy at all. My mind became adrift. And because the burden was too heavy, my emotions finally exploded. I'm so sorry it had to happen in front of you." Hearing the tone that seemed honest, Mr. Hunt slowly turned his focus. Two seconds later, he saw the tears slide from the grandson's eyes. "I've tried to be strong and tough, Grandpa. I thought I could solve all problems. But it turns out, I haven’t found any solution yet. That's why I was angry when I failed to find Grace and you at the cemetery. It got me think that I am a useless man," Julian explained with the gloomy eyes landed on the grass.

“Tsk, why does Grandpa run away like this? It just makes me feel even guiltier,” Julian grumbled between gasping breaths. Holding on to Mr. Hunt's message, he walked down the tree-lined path. “What should I do if Grandpa isn't there? Where should I look for him?” the man thought as he couldn't erase the wrinkles from his face. The burden in his heart was too heavy to ignore. After a few moments of struggling with the noise in his brain, Julian finally shook his head and blinked strongly. "No, no. Grandpa must be there. I'll take him home and things will automatically return to the way they were before," the man nodded, fostering hope. Ignoring the anxiety that kept swirling in his mind, he went faster. Unfortunately, as soon as Julian passed the cemetery gates, his steps were frozen. His jaw was dropping while his eyelids were lifted to the maximum. What he had hoped for quickly turned into disappointment. "No way! This is impossible!” he curs

"Dad," Cayden called quietly. A second later, the toddler handed Max a piece of bread that had been cleaned of jam. "I'm already full," he continued with a meaningful smile.Understanding the son's intentions, Max spontaneously raised an eyebrow. "Do you want me to finish your bread again?"While showing two rows of tiny teeth, Cayden nodded. After a faint exhalation, the father began to vibrate the air with laughter."Gaby, look at what Little Prince did! I can get fat if he keeps handing me food,” the man said while showing the second bread he received from his son.“Just eat it, Max. You need more energy to help the Little Prince take care of Hasty,” the woman who was cleaning the dishes with a sponge replied.Hearing his mother's response, Cayden's eyes immediately widened. His energy had just risen to the peak. “I've finished breakfast, Mom. Can I go to the stable now?”"Yes, but you have to wash your face

Suddenly, Julian dropped his face into his hands. After exhaling heavily, he lifted his head again and put on an indescribable expression."I didn't mean to scare anyone, Mia. I just don't want Grandpa’s mistake to happen again," the man said with frown on his face."Yes, I know," Mia replied with the same thin voice. “But you can do it without hurting Grandpa's feelings, Julian. This matter can be discussed amicably.”While gritting his teeth, Julian shook his head. Confusion had returned to cover his eyes. “What should I do now? I already made Grandpa sad.""Apologize?" Mia answered with a grimace."Is that enough?" the man asked doubtfully. He began to realize that his anger had indeed crossed the line.Pondering, the woman nodded. “As long as it's sincere, Grandpa will definitely forgive you. And I think, you should also explain to Cayden that what you did was wrong. Don't let your nephew imitate something t

“Greta, have you prepared delicious toast for us?” Cayden asked as the hostess opened the door wider to welcome him. Seeing her father was still able to walk, the woman with high arch of the brows spontaneously sighed in relief. After shaking her head for a moment, she turned her gaze to the toddler who was still holding Mr. Hunt's hand and waiting for her response. "Of course I have. There is also strawberry jam for you. Are you hungry?” Greta asked while faking a smile. “Not me, but Grandpa. I heard the sound of his breathing all the way. Grandpa is very tired! He should eat a lot of bread," Cayden said with his trademark expression—round eyes and pursed lips. While stroking her son's head, Gabriella bent her knees. After leveling their eyes, the woman tilted her head. "You know where Greta put the plate of bread, don't you?" No more than two seconds, the toddler nodded. "Yes. "Sorry, Julian. I took Grace to see your grandmother for a while. Now, I intend to take her home. We're not wandering around or straying like you said," Mister Hunt explained with an indescribable expression. Even so, his hoarse voice was able to touch the hearts of the listeners, apart from his grandson. "But the way home is over there, Grandpa!" Julian snapped, still with eyebrows raised to the max. The young man didn't feel sorry at all for the hunched back that was getting weighed down by guilt. "I really can’t understand what’s on your mind. Don't you realize that your recklessness can lead to trouble? Didn't we agree to go together? Why did you secretly take Grace away?” he continued, thickening the wrinkles on his grandfather's forehead. Sensing her father's anger, Little Princess began to furrow her brows. The baby had never heard such a loud voice. When her eyes fell on Mr. Hunt's gloomy face, she spontaneously pouted. A second later, her heavy cry b

Arriving at the cemetery, Julian was taken aback. What he saw was completely beyond expectation. There were no old man and baby among the tombstones. The grandfather and Grace left absolutely no trace. "This is impossible," Julian muttered as he quickened his pace. Neglecting his initial attempt to remain calm, the man sped toward the direction Greta had given. After searching for a while, he finally found the grandmother's name on one of the stones. “Right, this is the place. They should be here," Julian sighed, sounding desperate. With deep furrows, he circled around, trying to find any trace of either his daughter or Grandpa Hunt. Unfortunately, as far as the eye could see, the two remained off the radar. Confusion instantly grew bigger in Julian’s mind. "Tsk, how could it be like this?" he grumbled while clutching his head. Knowing that irritation, Mia gently touched her husband's arm. She knew that the man had failed to control hi

Carefully, Mr. Hunt wiped his great-granddaughter's cheek. Grace's red eyes no longer shed sadness. However, the old man still felt guilty for making the baby cry. "I'm sorry, Grace. I should have walked more calmly so you wouldn't wake up," he whispered in between his ragged breaths. After her face had been dry, Grace rested her head on Mister Hunt's shoulder. Blinking slowly, she pursed her lips. The furrow of her tiny brows indicated that she still wanted to roll up in the blanket on the crib. The baby wondered why she was with her great-grandfather, sitting on a long bench at the edge of a path. “When I was young, I only need fifteen minutes to arrive at your great-grandmother's grave. But now, why does it feel so long and tiring?” Mr. Hunt grumbled as he wiped his forehead with one hand. After one quick breath, the old man stood up again and held Grace in his languid arms. Although the baby was a bit heavy, his lips still curled up warmly.
