Chapter 72: Silently by her side

"Uncle Harry, are you awake? Can you take me to school? I can't reach Mommy."

Charlie's innocent voice echoed from outside, accompanied by a knocking on the door.

Emma jumped, quickly scrambling down from atop Harry. Adjusting her slightly disheveled dress, she gave him a stern look.

In just a few seconds, Charlie slowly opened the door and stepped inside. The light from outside illuminated a corner of the bedroom, helping him clearly see his mother's familiar face.

"Mommy?" Charlie called out in surprise. He kept blinking his eyes, being dressed in a cute teddy bear-themed nightgown, and asked, "Why are you here, Mommy? I thought you hadn't come back yet."

"Hmm... Sweetie, Uncle Harry is running a fever, so you can't get too close to him. Change your clothes quickly, and Mommy will take you to school."
