Tuesday was a big day for me. Sue's daughter had arrived yesterday and was coming into the company building later today to meet me before the big ceremony. I woke up the next morning, and the spot Kiara slept in was now empty. I opened my eyes, sat up, and looked around the hospital room. I was alone.
