Echoes of Longing

"Nothing, mom. I forgot something outside of the door, and I remembered about them now, so I went to get them in,” I answered.

“How is dad?” I questioned him about him.

"He's fine, sleeping in the other room,” she answered.

Later, we both sat there talking Thai and that. I took those bags and handed them to my mother.

“What are these?” My mom inquired.

“I brought gifts for you both; have a look over them whenever you feel like it,” I said, and she nodded her head. The whole day went with our chi-chatting. Dad was also shocked after seeing me home, and tears rolled from his eyes with happiness. I wiped them away and asked him not to cry.

“Dad, if you cry, I will also start crying. Slow, please don’t cry." I wrapped my hands around him and hugged him tightly. He hugged me back and said,

“I missed you, princess. I missed you a lot.”

He is becoming emotional, and I don’t want it. So I started tickling, and in the process of escaping, we both burst into laughter. This is one of our weapons
