Chapter 72: Nighttime Story

The two bid farewell like old friends. Elaine hung up the phone first, but Aaron still held onto his phone, listening to the rhythmic beeping. His brows slowly furrowed, feeling a kind of inexplicable disappointment.

"Hey," a person approached from behind and pushed him suddenly.

Aaron frowned unhappily and turned to see Matt's smiling face. He threw a punch at Matt's chest. "What are you looking at?"

"I have to say," Matt responded casually, still wearing a playful smile, "you can endure a lot. Taking such a heavy dose of medication, aren't you afraid it'll damage you and affect your happiness for the rest of your life?"

Aaron's face changed suddenly. Although it was the effect of the drugs, with his body heating up and his mind racing, he couldn't help but recall the wonderful feeling of holding a beautiful woman in his arms. He had some difficulty controlling the emotions surging within him.
