Mirabelle's POV:

As I drove the kids home, my grip tightened around the steering wheel as I glanced in the rearview mirror at where Tyler, Mika, and Skyler sat, dirt and sand still clinging to their clothes.

“What were you thinking?” I scolded, my voice rising. “Do you know how embarrassing it is to have to yell at the teachers for not watching you properly?”

Tyler fidgeted in his seat, avoiding my gaze. “We were just playing, Mommy.” He said, his voice small.

“Playing? That didn’t look like play to me!” I shot back. “You can’t just hit other kids because they call you names. You need to learn to walk away!”

Mika, sniffling beside him, piped up, “But they started it! They were being mean!”

“Even so,” I replied, trying to keep my voice calm. “You can’t respond with violence. I can’t believe I have to remind you of this.”

The car fell silent, except for the soft sounds of sniffles from my daughter. I took a deep breath, as I dialed Noah's number, feeling uncomfortable about this.

Finally, Mirabelle’s voice came through the line.“Yeah?” She answered as if I were the last person she wanted to hear from.“Hey, it's Ken. I just wanted to remind you about the lunch with the investors today; you remember, right?” I tried to keep my voice calm.“I remember, Ken.” She replied coolly. “You don’t have to keep reminding me.”There was a hint of something in her voice, irritation? Annoyance? I couldn’t quite place it, but I knew better than to push too far.“I just wanted to make sure everything was good. I’ll see you there, okay?”“I said I remember.” She stated. “I’ve got it covered.”Before I could say anything more, I heard the click of the call ending. She’d hung up on me.I let out a deep sigh and stared at the phone for a moment. ---The restaurant was a quiet place, the kind of place where deals were made over plates of pa

Please.” I begged. “I’ll explain later.”She looked at me, hesitated, and then shook her head. “Why would I help you, Ken?” I said quickly. “Just… please. I’m stuck.”After a long pause, she sighed and unlocked the door. “Fine. Get in.”I slid into the passenger seat. This wasn’t how I’d planned for things to go, but it felt like a small victory. Maybe, just maybe, if I kept pursuing her like this, I could get her back.“You can drop me off at the gas station you passed on your way here,” I said, smiling. She didn’t respond; she just started the car and drove. I couldn’t help but watch her as she focused on the road. There was a thick silence between us, but I didn’t dare speak.“You’d better not try talking to me.” She warned.I bit my tongue, not wanting to risk upsetting her further. It was a small win, but it was a win. When we reached the gas station, I saw her drive off without a se

Mirabelle's POV:A few nights ago, Noah told me about a business event that Natasha had invited him to, happening tomorrow. Apparently, he'd have the chance to meet with the man who was looking to sell a few properties in Shanghai. At first, I was skeptical, a part of me felt uneasy. But then, I heard a little voice in my head ask. "Don’t you think you're overreacting?" I guess I had been overthinking it. But, really, who wouldn't? Noah is every woman's dream, he is supportive, a great listener, attentive, caring, and always there when you need him.Don’t get me wrong, I trust Noah completely. I just can't trust that feisty little model who seems to stir up something inside me.“You look bothered, Ma’am. Is everything alright?” Jamie’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts.I turned to her with a smile. “I’m fine, just work stuff.”She raised an eyebrow. “Maybe you should take a few days off.”After taking a sip of water, I replied. “I’ll be okay, Jamie. No need to worry so much.” I sta

Mirabelle’s POVIt was a quiet evening at home, I stood in front of the door with Mika, Tyler, and Skyler. Each of them wore matching pajamas, we were all waiting for the same thing: Noah’s return. He’d told me that they were already in the estate, and my heart fluttered at the thought of seeing Grandpa Ed again after a long day.Mika was bouncing on her toes, Tyler, on the other hand, his hands were firmly gripping my sleeve, and he was leaning into me. Then there was Skyler, who stood a little further back, but I could see the curiosity in his eyes. Although he didn’t speak as much as his siblings, he often noticed things others missed. He had this calm, observant demeanor that I’d come to love over the years. And then, the sound of Noah’s car pulling into the driveway broke the silence. We all looked toward the door, and within a few moments, the doorbell rang, making Mika practically jump in the air.“That’s Daddy!” She squeaked.I smiled, walking toward the door with Tyler and

Noah's POV:I pulled up in front of The Silver Fork, the dim glow from the restaurant's exterior lights reflecting off my car’s windshield. The place was as exclusive as rumored—chic, modern, and a hotspot for the city’s most prominent figures. I’d been to my fair share of fine dining spots, but this place was different. I stepped out of the car, the cold air brushing against my face, as I walked toward the entrance. The doorman greeted me with a polite nod. Stepping inside, I made my way to the reception desk, where a young woman stood.“Good evening, Sir.” She greeted me, scanning her tablet. “Do you have a reservation?”“Yes, Noah Sylvester.” I replied, watching her eyes flick over the screen. She glanced at me for a moment before tapping a few keys, then smiled up at me. “Yes, Mr. Sylvester, we have you down for Table 9 in the private dining area. Apologies for the delay. I’ll have my colleague escort you in.”“No problem.”She motioned to a man standing nearby, who gave me a sli

Mirabelle's POV:I woke up slowly, the morning light passing through the curtains and falling gently on Noah's sleeping face. His body was sprawled across the bed. I smiled as I watched him sleep, his hair a little scattered. He looked peaceful, and I almost hated to disturb him.It was Sunday, so neither of us had work to worry about. I stretched, careful not to wake him, and quietly slipped out of bed. My stomach growled a little —apparently, I was hungrier than I thought. I ran across the room, brushing my teeth in the bathroom before making my way to the kitchen. As I stepped into the kitchen, I immediately spotted Jamie. She was standing by the counter, engrossed in her phone. I didn’t think much of it at first, but as I took a step closer, I noticed the way she seemed to be focused so intently on her screen, like she was trying to hide something."Jamie!" I called out.She jumped, her body shaking as if I’d startled her. And the phone slipped from her hand and clattered to the

Ken's POV: I sat at the kitchen counter, spooning cereal into my mouth. I hadn’t had an actual meal in what felt like weeks. The cereal was bland, tasteless, but it was quick and easy, which was all I had time for. I glanced around the kitchen, the dishes piling up in the sink, the countertops cluttered with the remnants of breakfast and half-finished cups of coffee. I was used to this. Mitchelle had never been one for domesticity, and honestly, I didn’t care. The fact that she spent more time in front of a mirror than taking care of anything else around here didn’t bother me much anymore. What bothered me was the reality of my situation. I was stuck with a woman that felt more like a business arrangement than anything resembling love. Mitchelle was too wrapped up in herself to notice, but it didn’t matter. I wasn’t exactly in love with her anymore. The thought that she might be losing interest was honestly a relief. It made it easier to picture a life without her when the t

Noah's POV: I sat on the edge of the couch, my hands wrapped around a glass of whiskey that I hadn't yet touched. The kids were in their rooms, quiet for the moment. I could hear faint sounds of their voices, but nothing to distract me. I was still trying to figure out what the hell had gone wrong with Mirabelle. A knock on the door pulled me from my thoughts. I glanced up to see my grandad, stepping into the living room. "How are things going?" He asked, taking a seat opposite me. His voice was soft, like he didn’t want to intrude, but I knew he already knew the answer. I leaned back, running a hand through my hair. "Not great," I muttered. "Mirabelle and I... we had a fight." His brow furrowed, and he gave me a thoughtful look. “And what was it about?” I sighed. I wasn’t sure where to start, but I knew I had to tell him everything. I needed to get it out, to have someone listen without judgment. “I went out last night to meet a man who’s interested in selling a piece of lan

Natasha's POV:Suddenly, my phone rang.I glanced at the side table, straining my neck to catch a glimpse of the Caller ID."ALLY 1?" I muttered aloud, my voice filled with anger and irritation. Why the hell is he calling me now?I pulled open the side table drawer, grabbed my business card, and tossed it at Zhao Feng. "Thanks for your services. Send me your account details, and I'll make sure you're well compensated.""But—""The job at The Peninsula, right?" I interrupted. And he nodded."We’ll discuss that when you text me.” I said curtly."Um... I..." He stammered, then rose from the bed and shuffled to where his clothes were scattered on the floor. He began dressing—slowly. What the hell?"Why the fuck are you still here? Get out already." I snapped, my patience wearing thin.He hurriedly pulled on his clothes, slipped my card into his pocket, and quietly made his way to the door. Just as I thought I was rid of him, his head popped back through the doorway."I really enjoyed—"Be

Natasha's POV:Zhao Feng behaved like the weak little man he is. He inserted his tongue deep inside my pussy and swiftly moved it up and down while holding my feet. His tongue had cleaned the sticky liquid that oozed from my pussy. We both caught sight of each other while looking at my tight nipples. I had to kick his testicles to remind him to keep begging.“Madam, please cure my erection. I’m desperate for sex and don’t have the balls to lure in a woman. The sticky liquid from your warm pussy has increased my lust. Please take command over my cock.” He pleaded dramatically.“Alright, you pathetic weak little man. Get on the bed and spread out your arms and legs.” I ordered him.I stood on the bed and stepped on his testicles. At first, he felt a sharp pain but then began to enjoy it, as his balls got between the mattress and my toe.I spat on his face and said. “Your cowardly cock is getting a taste of my pussy because I’m allowing it. I can’t…”“Oh, come now.” I urged, stepping closer, my hand brushing against his chest. “I’ll make it worth your while.”“I could get fired.” He said, his voice barely over a whisper.I smirked, letting my fingers trail down his uniform. “This is the Four Seasons Hotel, the fourth most expensive hotel in Shanghai. If you get fired, I can secure you a higher position at The Peninsula, the most expensive hotel in the city.”His hesitation was obvious, his gaze flickered between my face and the hallway behind him. “Ma’am, I don’t…”“Shhh.” I pressed a finger to his lips, silencing him. “Don’t be scared, darling. How is it now that you are unaware of his whereabouts?” Simon inquired.“I suspected that to be his reason for being unavailable. But now that you've just confirmed that he lied, I am starting to think that things aren't the way it seems.” I replied. “Just do as I said, go to Samuel's house and check up on him. This isn’t going away, Noah. We have to cooperate.”“Cooperate?” I repeated. “I don’t have time for this. I am going home. The engines of the jet roared to life, but I was too restless to focus on the luxury of my surroundings. My jaw tightened as the memory of the news flashed before my eyes. Mirabelle’s company is on the brink of collapse. Fraud accusations. A shipment disaster. A fire. It was a chain reaction, one calamity after another. Was any of this connected to me? My secrets, my choices? The choices I made—might have indirect

Mirabelle's POV: The bathroom mirror was fogged up, beads of water clinging to the surface as I stepped out, wrapping myself in a soft towel. I sat at the dressing table, absently smoothing lotion onto my arms. My reflection stared back at me—tired eyes, pale skin, and lips pressed into a thin line. Who is this woman? A soft chime interrupted my thoughts. My phone lit up on the table, and I froze. A notification. Reaching for it, I hesitated. The screen displayed Noah’s name and his message: “I’m on my way to the airport. I just saw the news.” What the hell? My hand tightened around the phone. Of all times, why now? I wasn’t ready to face him. He can't find out yet—not until I gathered enough evidence to expose him. Not until I am able to make him pay for all the lies, all the deceit. But can I truly do it? Can I really put the father of my children behind bars? My chest tightened at the thought. How would I explain it to the kids? Mika would be devastated. Tyler—he idoli

Noah's POV:The quiet hum of the hotel air conditioner filled the room as I stared at my phone. Another call unanswered. I sighed, leaning back on the plush chair in frustration. "Come on, Mirabelle." I muttered under my breath. "Pick up the damn phone."It has been over 30 fucking hours since we last spoke, and the growing silence between us made me irritated. I had called her more times than I cared to count—twenty, maybe even thirty. Each unanswered ring felt like another stone in my chest, dragging me down.My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. Startled, I straightened up. “Who is it?”“It’s me, Natasha.” Her familiar voice called from the other side.Natasha? What the hell was she doing here so late? I crossed the room quickly and opened the door. Natasha stood there, looking unusually grim. Her expression made my stomach twist.“What’s wrong?” I asked. She stepped inside, glancing around nervously. “You need to see this, Noah.” She handed me a tablet, which was al

Mirabelle’s POV:Not after everything I’d discovered. Twenty-four calls couldn’t erase the lies, the manipulation, or the damage he’d caused. Still, a strange unease settled over me as I put the phone down, shaking my head.Ken’s name caught my eye again, and without thinking, I tapped his number. As the phone rang, I silently prayed he’d still be awake. He picked up on the third ring. “Mirabelle?” His voice was groggy but alert.“Hey.” I said, forcing a calm tone.“Everything okay?” He asked quickly.“Yeah, I’m fine. I just… I saw I missed your calls and thought I’d check in.”Ken let out a soft sigh. “I wasn’t sure if you’d call back. I didn’t want to bother you, but I couldn’t sleep without apologizing.”“Apologizing?” I frowned. “For what?”“For earlier.” He said, his voice filled with regret. “I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable when you came over. That wasn’t my intention at all.”“Ken…”“Let me finish.” He interrupted gently. “The reason I brought you over wasn’t to ta
