Chapter 3 : The bad news

Here it is 3 months later and Annabelle's and Evalynn's parents should have been back home 6 hours ago. They are starting to get worried. Thank god Evalynn is married to a cop and he had just found out that one town over a couple was t-boned by a tractor trailer and as of right now they are still looking for the ID cards. They told him if it was their parents where the ID cards would be. Next thing the knew it was  an hour later and the doorbell rings, it's Shawn, Evalynn's husband, he had came to tell the sisters that the couple had indeed been their parents. Evalynn and Annabelle just hugged each other and fell to the floor crying. They had asked everyone to leave except for Shawn being that he is family and they need to discuss what is to happen next. They ended up getting through the funeral and sitting through the court cases of the man who killed their parents. In the end he received life in prison with no parole because this was not his first offense. What happened next was the last thing Annabelle had expected. She had paid so much attention on the death of her parents instead of her father's legacy she didn't see it coming when the board had voted her out of the business. So not only did she lose her parents, she lost her dream job, and her father legacy essentially his third child. He had built that company from the ground up, from the start up in their garage to the number one business in Seattle. Everyone in the business world had wishes to work there if they were to make a name for themselves. As of now though there was nothing she could do about it. Now for the last week she has been getting up at dawn and started looking for jobs. Every interview she did went well but she was always too experienced for what the company was looking for. This company was her last resort and it was for a position she could choke on. It was for personal assistant to Ryan O'Rourke. Ryan O' Rourke happenes to be the billionaire businessman that was always trying to take the number one spot from her father and he may actually a chance to now. As she walked into Mr. O'Rourke office the woman at the feont desk looked her up and down with a look of disgust in her eyes as Annabelle had asked where they were holding the interviews for Mr. O'Rourke's personal assistant. The woman rudely told her on the 21st floor and pointed to th elevators. Little did Annabelle know that elevator was specifically for Mr. O' Rourke and no one else. When she stepped off the elevator he was already standing there waiting for it to open because he had an alarm in his office to let him know if someone was using it and he could fire them on the spot. Now that was most certainly the woman at the front desk intention but she was in for a surprise. When the elevator doors opened Ryan O'Rourke was speechless for the forst time and the was due to the beautiful woman before him. He has seen many women that were beautiful before but there was something about this one that he jist couldn't quite put his finger on. When he finally was able to talk he harshly asked her " Who in the hell told you you could ride up in my personal elevator? What makes you so special to not follow the riles as all the other applicants did?"  Her answer was something he was not expecting. Annabelle replied " Well excuse me your Higness I had not known this was your personal elevator and if you want to blame someone you should blame the woman at the front desk who pointed to this elevator specifically when I asked how to get to this floor, which was no doubt her intention being the look of disgust she sent my way the whole time I was speaking to her. I'm very sorry for have wasted your time and usimg your precious personal elevator. Goodbye amd good day." Ryan was flabbergastered as she was turning around to walk away this time heading to the stairs. He yelled at her "Stop! Where do you think it is you are going? " She replied " Well I am assuming I no longer have an interview being no fault of my own I mind you but nonetheless I used your elevator, so I will be leaving now with my dignity intact. I will not beg for an interview especially when it is clear I am not wanted here." "The only person not wanted here is Michelle at the front desk,  I assure you that is not how we treat our prospective employees." Ryan had replied " also I do not need to inteerview you to know you are perfect for the job, you're hired!" He then turns to the rest of the people waiting for their chance at the interview and says "I'm sorry to say but as you all just saw the position is no longer available. Have a nice rest of your day and if the position shall become vacant again I will be sure to call you all first." They all left not exactly happy but more hopeful that the woman he just hired would not last long.
