He began to apply the makeup, Sylvia could feel the brush moving over her skin, the gentle strokes of his hand soothing and calming her. She tried to focus on the sensation, to block out the anxiety that threatened to overwhelm her.

But as the man worked, she couldn't help but wonder what she would look like when he was finished. Would she be able to recognize herself in the mirror? Would she look as ugly as she felt?

Finally, the man stepped back, surveying his work with a critical eye. Sylvia held her breath, waiting for his verdict.

"Open your eyes," he said.

Slowly, Sylvia opened her eyes and looked at the mirror. For a moment, she didn't recognize herself. The woman in the mirror was stunning, with flawless skin, sparkling eyes, and luscious lips. It was as if she had been transformed into a completely different person.
