She asked as she looked around the restaurant.

The restaurant was still a little empty because it was still early in the morning. So people have not started coming like normal.

But Her partner had already started making the food. While Sylvia cleaned the table, as time went on, Customers started coming in one by one to eat.

“Sylvia.” The manager called her from behind. Sylvia turned her head and looked back. "Manager,” she said, and she walked towards him respectfully.

"Go to room 9 and attend to the VIP customers there,” the manager said to her.

Sylvia nodded. "Okay, sir,” she said with a smile.

Sylvia walked towards the counter and took the book menu. She walked towards the room and walked in. The man sitting down, his back was facing her, so she did not see her face.

“This is the menu here. What are your orders, Sir?” Sylvia asked respectfully.

The man suddenly turned and faced her. Sylvia was stunned when she saw the man’s face.

She went home after eating dinner outside, when she got home no one was at home. She walked into her room and sat down on the bed. Suddenly, she felt a wave of pains in her stomach, turning pale and she felt something was flowing down her legs. Sylvia immediately knew what was going on. It was her period, her period has always been irregular. A sharp cramp twisted in her abdomen, like a vice tightening around her insides. It is always so painful that she would faint a lot of times. James got home and sank onto the couch, the weight of the day pressing down on him. His mind was still reeling from the unexpected confrontation with Sylvia. Victoria walked toward him, her smile bright but fading as she noticed his expression. “Welcome back, dear! How was your trip?” she asked, sitting beside him. James opened his mouth to respond but found no words came. The memory of Sylvia’s cold rejection replayed in his mind. How could she have turned him down? “You didn’t meet her?” Victoria asked, concern creeping into her voice. “No! I saw her,” he replied, frustration boiling just beneath the surface. “Then why didn’t she come with you? Or is she already upstairs?” Victoria glanced toward the staircase, hope flickering in her eyes. “She refused to come back,” he said, bitterness coloring his tone. The disbelief gnawed at him. Why wouldn’t she want to return? “Sylvia?” she asked, her eyes wide with surprise. James nodded, a wave of confusion washing over him. He had n

"Wow, so she is taken?" Ruth was extremely satisfied with her appearance, and the envious look people gave her. She smiled gently and felt extremely proud. The gasps got louder and Ruth seemed to have become the center attention. She was sure Brother Stephan would like her the way she is. She was anticipating whether Stephan would bring Sylvia or not to the public. She wasn't invited to the party, but she felt that it is not bad for her to be shameless once and attend even though she was not invited… Besides, Grandma was still not talking with her. She walked and sat down quietly. Suddenly, her phone rang. She looked at the screen and saw that it was her best friend. She picked it up and put the phone on her ear. "Hello, Janet" "Ruth, where are you?" "I'm at the Moonlight hall, Brother Stephan Grandma's birthday is today" "Okay, I'll come over there" "Okay" Ruth hung up. She suddenly felt that people were not looking at her anymore, she was confused of who caught the

Gabriella smiled at her reassuringly. “Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.” Ruth smirked when she heard this, a sense of satisfaction flooding through her. If anything went wrong, it wouldn’t be her fault; it would be Janet’s. After all, who asked her to want to protect her? Sylvia sat quietly, waiting for Stephan. He had left earlier, mentioning he had some business to attend to, leaving her in the midst of this gathering. She sighed softly, tapping her fingers rhythmically on the polished table as the ambient chatter swirled around her. The soft clinking of glasses and the muted laughter of guests created an atmosphere that should have felt festive, but instead, it only heightened her unease. Just then, a voice pierced through the noise—a girl’s voice, dripping with arrogance. Sylvia rolled her eyes, instinctively turning slightly in her seat, already anticipating the confrontation. “I heard that you are Brother Stephan’s new girlfriend. Do you have what it takes to marry in

Ruth’s teeth ground together, her jaw locked as she watched the scene unfold. A muscle twitches in her cheek, betraying the storm of emotions brewing beneath her calm facade. Ruth’s gaze darted to Sylvia, her lips pressed into a thin line, fingers curling tightly around the edge of her glass. The fire in her eyes simmered with barely contained frustration. She hadn’t expected Sylvia to be so good at singing, and it gnawed at her. Her attention shifted back to Gabriella, who was now watching with a mix of annoyance and intrigue. “She can’t be that talented,” Ruth muttered under her breath, glaring at Janet, who had initiated this whole spectacle. Ruth felt betrayed; Janet had failed to put Sylvia in her place. As Sylvia finished her performance and left the stage, a wave of applause followed her. She could feel the admiration radiating from the crowd, and it filled her with a sense of accomplishment. “You are pretty talented,” Gabriella remarked, As the applause died down, the

Sylvia excused herself and headed to the washroom, needing a moment to collect her thoughts. The atmosphere at the table felt charged, heavy with unspoken words and competing emotions. As she stepped into the cool, quiet space, she splashed water on her face, trying to shake off the tension that had begun to creep into her mind. After a few deep breaths, she returned to her seat, hoping the momentary reprieve would help her face the ongoing drama. As she sat down, she caught Stephan’s gaze briefly; he looked up from his plate, meeting her eyes for just a heartbeat before shifting his focus back to his food. There was something reassuring in his indifference, but also unsettling. Next to him, Ruth bit her lip, visibly irritated as she slumped back into her chair, unwilling to hide her displeasure. What was this woman even worth? Ruth seethed internally. Sylvia came from a poor background, yet here she was, at the center of Stephan’s attention, as if her humble origins were somehow

Sylvia felt a flicker of guilt wash over her at his words. It was true; she had used him to assert herself, to reclaim a little power in a situation that had spiraled out of her control. But wasn’t it his affair in the first place? Why should she feel guilty for cleaning up the mess he had made? Confusion stirred within her, and she struggled to articulate her thoughts. “Uhm…” she began, but before she could finish, he sealed her lips with his. His hot breath fanned against her, igniting a fire of emotions that she struggled to comprehend. The kiss deepened, ravenous and wild, overwhelming her senses. She tried to push him away, but he held her hands in place with one of his, trapping her in the moment. His other hand roamed, caressing her breast, sending shivers down her spine. “Uh…” Sylvia moaned against his mouth, caught between desire and a nagging doubt. Was this right? But Stephan seemed to have other plans. He withdrew from her lips, his mouth trailing down to her neck, wh

Stephan walked into the house and took the elevator to his room, his mind still reeling from the events of the day. As he approached his door, he noticed it was ajar. Curiosity piqued, he walked closer and paused when he saw the housekeeper handing a glass of milk to Sylvia. She accepted it gratefully, drinking it in one gulp before returning the cup to the housekeeper. As the housekeeper turned to leave, her eyes met Stephan’s. “Young Master,” she greeted, a hint of guilt flickering across her features. He nodded in acknowledgment but felt a twinge of annoyance. The last thing he needed was another reminder of the chaos swirling around him. Ignoring Sylvia, he stepped into the bathroom, desperate to wash away the lingering scent of alcohol that clung to him. The hot water cascaded over his body, and he let it wash away not just the physical grime, but also the tumult of emotions battling within him. Once clean, he lay down next to Sylvia, who seemed lost in her own world. As he s

Sylvia Luke nodded thoughtfully, absorbing Lily’s words. It felt like a moment of clarity had settled over her, one that brought a sense of understanding she had been searching for. “Okay, I understand now,” she said, finishing the last drop of her drink. It was refreshing, like a cool breeze on a sweltering day, and she felt a little lighter. Lily, however, had different plans. She poured a generous measure of alcohol into her glass and downed it in one swift motion. The burn felt familiar, a reminder that sometimes the easiest way to dull the ache of longing was to simply forget. She forced a smile, one tinged with bitterness, knowing Sylvia Luke couldn’t see the true emotion behind it. Deep down, she longed for someone like Stephan Damon—someone who would love her unconditionally. “You are a lucky girl,” she muttered under her breath, her voice barely audible over the hum of the bar. It was a statement directed not at Sylvia but at her own unfulfilled desires. “Did you say

Lily Doo nodded, her expression shifting from playful to concerned. “Yes, I am. What about you?” she asked, studying Sylvia closely. Sylvia Luke shrugged, pouring a drink into the empty glass on the table. “I am okay,” she replied, attempting to mask the turmoil beneath her surface. Lily smiled knowingly. “You don’t look like you are alright,” she said, her tone laced with familiarity. “Is it written all over my face?” Sylvia countered, trying to keep her voice light, but the weight of her emotions was hard to hide. “If you want to deceive everyone, you can’t deceive me,” Lily said, her voice firm yet gentle. “I can tell when you’re not really okay. What’s wrong? Are we still best friends? You’ve started keeping things away from me.” Her expression turned sad, and Sylvia felt a pang of guilt. Sylvia sighed, feeling the walls close in on her. “It’s Stephan Damon!” she blurted out. “And I’m sure you’re keeping things from him too. What are you hiding from me?” Lily chuckled, a hin

Sylvia Luke closed her room door with a soft thud and sank onto the bed, her mind racing. Just then, her phone rang, slicing through her thoughts. Startled, she fished it out of her bag and glanced at the screen. It was Lily, her closest friend. She answered the call, placing the phone to her ear. “Hello?” she said, trying to keep her voice steady. “What’s up?” Lily’s voice came through, bright and cheerful. “I’m good. What about you?” Sylvia replied, attempting to mirror her friend’s upbeat tone. “Okay. Are you around?” Lily asked, a hint of excitement in her voice. “Yes, I am,” Sylvia confirmed, feeling a spark of enthusiasm flicker within her. “Let’s meet at Shell Bar then,” Lily suggested. “Okay, I’ll meet you there in a jiffy,” Sylvia said, glad for the distraction. “Sure, waiting for you,” Lily chirped before hanging up. Sylvia placed her phone down and took a deep breath. She needed this—some time with her friend to clear her head. She got up from the bed and walked o

Stephan Damon’s expression darkened at the mention of her name. “She’s with the police. Why do you ask?” His tone was guarded; he didn’t want to believe that Sylvia Luke might feel sympathy for the woman who had wronged her. Sylvia Luke shrugged, her heart heavy with conflicting emotions. “I just want to see her, to understand. I feel like she might have been deceived or something,” she said, her voice quieter now. The idea of confronting the woman was daunting, yet she felt a strange pull to learn more, to empathize with someone who seemed to be acting out of pain. Stephan Damon regarded her thoughtfully, his gaze searching her face. He could see the turmoil within her, the struggle between her desire for justice and her instinct to show compassion. “You don’t have to carry her burden too,” he finally said, his voice low but firm. “Focus on your healing first.” Stephan Damon nodded, the weight of the situation hanging between them. “She will tell the police all that. Minutes turned into hours, and Stephan Damon remained by her side, his resolve hardening. He would do everything in his power to ensure that she felt safe and loved. The darkness that had encroached on their lives would be pushed away, and he would fight for their future together, no matter what it took. He leaned closer, brushing a strand of hair from her forehead. “Please, come back to me,” he murmured, his voice laced with emotion. “I need you.” Stephan Damon walked out of the ward, needing a moment to collect himself and avoid disturbing Sylvia Luke’s fragile peace. He stepped into the dimly lit corridor and pulled out his phone, his fingers trembling slightly as he dialed a number. “Hello?” came a cautious voice on the other end. “Boss, the woman is still adamant that Madam seduced her husband. She claims she received some images on her phone,” the bodyguard reported, his voice shaky. Stephan Damon clenched his fist tightly, his knuckles turning white. Anger surged th

Stephan Damon dropped to his knees beside Sylvia Luke, his heart aching at the sight of her. Sylvia Luke heard the familiar tone, like a lifeline pulling her back from the abyss. She struggled to open her heavy eyelids, each flutter feeling like a monumental effort. Finally, she managed to focus on the face that meant everything to her. “Hubby, you’re finally here,” she said in a low, raspy tone, forcing a smile that felt more like a grimace. Just when she thought it couldn’t get worse, the phone in her pocket began to ring, cutting through the chaos like a beacon. The woman, still holding her down, felt the vibrations and yanked the phone out. She glanced at the screen, her expression shifting to one of disdain as she read the name: “Baby.” “You’re really shameless. Is it one of the men you seduced calling you? Let’s see who else you’ve seduced after my husband,” the woman sneered, holding the phone like a trophy, her expression a mix of triumph and derision. Sylvia Luke’s mind felt blank, a swirling fog taking over as she processed everything. The ringing felt distant, and she could barely comprehend the woman’s words. The humiliation, the anger, the pain—it all melded into a haze. Her consciousness flickered in and out, making it hard to focus on anything but the overwhelming embarrassment. “Answer it! “Hello?” a man’s voice cut into the conversation. Sylvia Luke’s brow knitted in confusion. “Who are you?” she asked, sensing the shift in tone. “I’m the officer handling Miss Emily Anthony’s case. She scrolled down to the comment section, her heart sinking further as she read the barrage of supportive messages directed at Ruth Slice. The comments flowed in like a tidal wave: “Ruth Slice’s hubby: I know it was that bitch who seduced Mr. Tony. You’re really nice and kind hearted; you even forgive her and call her sister-in-law! That bitch seduces married men!” “Bitchy: Tsk tsk, you are really nice. You gave up easily! I love your courage—thumbs up! You are my role model from now on.” “Ruth Slice’s daddy: she even seduced other people’s men. Watch out for this whore!” “Anonymous: You are so kindhearted; you should not be like that black-hearted bitch. Keep being kind hearted!” Sylvia Luke laughed, amusement mixed with anger as she read the comments. Kind Hearted? she thought bitterly. Although she had no concrete evidence linking Ruth Slice to her earlier troubles, a nagging feeling told her that Ruth Slice had orchestrated much of the chaos in her life. Her instincts h
