My eyes burned with a fiery determination as I stepped forward, my gaze locked on the bracelet encircling Olivia’s wrist.

It wasn’t just any bracelet; it was my mother’s, a precious keepsake that had no place on my stepsister’s wrist. Olivia’s smug smile only fueled her anger.

"Genevieve!"

My father's voice rang out, stern and commanding, but I didn’t care. Nothing was more precious than my mom’s memories.

With a swift, harsh motion, I seized Olivia’s wrist, ignoring her startled gasp. My fingers worked quickly, almost viciously, to unclasp the bracelet and wrench it free.

My eyes burned with rage and I glared at Rosalind. She must have done it and she thought I wouldn’t create a scene. Heck no, Was I gonna sit back and watch it.

Olivia's eyes widened in shock and pain, but before she could say anything, Rosalind’s voice cut through the tension.

"Genevieve, how dare you treat Olivia like that!"

she scolded sternly, stepping forward.
