Cora's POV

I looked miserable and it made me hate myself. The time I looked like this was when I finally left the goddamn marriage. My eyes snapped shut while I felt the emotions deeply.

The protection that day in front of Fernando. How Calvin stood up for me. Was it a lie? Or was it because he felt guilty that he caused all of that?

Guilt? Hell no. He wasn't even guilty. He wasn't guilty when I confronted him yesterday. I shut my eyes. How'd I let it happen?

The girl that trusted people slowly slipped back into me. I was beginning to see him as a better person. And he wasn't. First, he made that monster come after me.

And he posted a video where a young girl was on the whole internet being forcefully touched. What kind of psycho is that?

At the word Psycho, everything in me stopped. Jayden mentioned it. He did! He said Calvin was a Psycho. Was he really one?

I shut my eyes. Did I escape a Psycho to be with another? Heavens. I needed all of that to stop.

Standing up, I headed to the

Cora's POVDressed in a high waist trouser with an off shoulder dress and a pointed heel, I looked like the Cora I wanted. Holding on to my handbag, I bade Lorraine goodbye and headed out. I was working on how to gain more visibility for my company so I'll get more work to handle. When I reached the car, Brandon was already waiting and I gazed at him. Calvin gives him all the orders, did he know about what Calvin did?“Did you know Calvin was at the party?” I asked out of nowhere and Brandon froze for a second before he regained his posture.“What night ma?”“So, you're playing dumb huh? You both literally work together, what did I expect?”“I later found out when I got to know he was at the company that night. I'm sorry for keeping it from you,” Brandon bowed but I was too stunned to speak. And no words came out of my mouth. I ignored him as I made my way to the car and settled down. Brandon exhaled then ignited the engine and in no time, I was in front of my enterprise.I headed in

Cora's POV“You two are definitely doing great jobs,” I patted Kaylee's and Iris' backs. We just came from a wedding party and the photography was on point. Then we had to add music to the videos we took. And send it to them to complete the job.“I'm so glad. It's always been my dream,” Kaylee smiled as I watched them.It was the best decision I made. Having the two of them to work for me. Iris took care of taking pictures most of the time and Kaylee is best at positioning.I bet we would do a great job for the big event ahead. With governors and important people attending, I looked forward to the event. The first contract Calvin helped us secure. In just a week, we'd be attending it.“We'll soon be done for today,” I said and iris raised her head.“Should we all have dinner together?”I stopped. Dinner? “I would have but I'm tired. Another day Iris, okay?”“Alright,” they both smiled. They rounded up the imputing of the videos onto the system and soon, they were out. I headed to the

“Lester.” Calvin said and I raised my head. “Who's that?”Lester? When did I mention him? Yesterday. When I had a conversation with Alicia. So he heard everything?“Remember to stay out of my business,” I smiled through the statement and Calvin's gaze hardened. Yesterday, I left the event before him and Lorraine woke me up in the morning saying that Calvin wanted to have a discussion with me.“If this is why you called me here, then I better take my leave.” I stood and he scoffed.“I don't care about any Lester but don't cause problems for me, Cora.” It was a warning.“Do you have anything to say?”Calvin gazed at me and I settled down at his look. He definitely has something to say. “Brandon will pick you up by 2pm to my office. We have to meet a guest together.”His office. I paused. I had never been there. “Why? Who are they?”“You will know by then,” Calvin wiped his mouth and stood, heading out of the dining room. Too much audacity. I rolled my eyes and stood. I was already dress

A week had never been that fast. Everything happened in the blink of an eye. And then we were on the way to the wedding hall. I was going with Brandon. Calvin also was attending but we were going at different times.“I'm really excited,” Iris said beside me and turned to me with a grin, “I have never attended a wedding party before.”“What? Are you for real?” I asked surprised. She has never attended a wedding?“Yeah,” Iris nodded. “I was sick while growing up. I grew up mostly in the hospital.” Her voice lowered down while I stared, completely surprised. She was sick?“That's why I like you. You like when people like me recover and get to start living.”To say I was shocked was an understatement. She grew up sick? “I'm sorry,” I leaned into her and that moment, I gave her a hug relating to her situation. When I made to talk, the car pulled into the parking lot and came to a halt.“We're here ma'am,” Brandon said and I got out with Iris.“I'll take the equipment in,” Brandon said whil

Laughter echoed in the room as excitement cackled. People popped champagne and waiters walked around. It was the reception. The party took a turn when the bridal train came in, rejoicing.Another important moment I had to capture. The entrance of the bridal train. The females were in pitch coloured gowns while the men wore white coloured suits. The colours were different but it was still in synchronization. As they came in and I made sure to capture all of the dance celebration and soon enough it was time to cut the cake.Another important moment. To capture everything, we all worked relentlessly and soon people were partying and all we had to do was take random pictures.“Tada!” A voice screamed behind me and I turned to see Kaylee.“You're here?’“Surprise!” She screamed and jumped. “I came as someone's date.” She told me and I saw her blush. “Not introducing him, huh?” I chuckled as I thought of it. With her presence here, I was sure she was the one at the charity event. Then she

I stirred in my sleep but stopped at once at the scent that filled my nostrils. It was vastly different. At once, my eyes snapped open as I scanned the room I was in.And slowly, the memories came together and my eyes widened. Lester. After he called a waiter and I took the drink, I slept off. Does that mean he drugged me? Rage spiked up in my blood as I stood.I was sure he did it for Alicia. I headed to the door and to my surprise it clicked open and I was on the passageway.A throbbing headache pounded in my head while I struggled to walk and soon, I heard the clicking of cameras and I stopped. The videos. The pictures we took yesterday. Who handled them? As I hurried to the direction, a voice came, “I thought everyone evacuated! Who's that?”“Me?” I hurried to the direction wondering what was going on and as soon as I sighted them, I was shocked. Police officers?“Where have you been hiding?” A bass voice queried and hurried towards me while I glanced around. The whole hall had

“Kaylee?” My jaw dropped. “What… did you…”“I did it. I deleted the videos.”“Really?” The bride screamed and at once hurried to Kaylee and landed a slap on her. “Really? So you must have participated in his poisoning, am I correct.”“No” Kaylee shook her trembling head, held her cheeks and turned to me and no, no guilt was in her eyes. Rather she looked innocent. Like she always did. “I overheard you telling Mrs Logan those were the moments you badly cherished. And I deleted them.”“Kaylee —” my jaw dropped. What was she saying? She wasn't even with us yesterday. I had gotten the instructions of the whole wedding single handedly.“And why did you do that?” The bride screamed, pain evident in her voice.“Because I hate seeing people happy,” at once the governor's daughter screamed and landed another slap on Kaylee and we heard gasps.Turning, we saw a reporter with his hold on his camera and before the bride could order, he was running off for dear life.“So, will you release her now

I had managed to hold Calvin down last night and it was the best because raging that way, I knew he could actually do something worse than what he's accused of. Now, he had to go search for the truth before he's taken for what he didn't do which I bet would be very bad. I grabbed my jacket and headed out of the room and as soon as I got to the living room, I sighted calvin and the memory of what we had last night replayed in my head. The way he held me, the rough kisses that made my belly simmer and my toes curl up. It was insane but that didn't mean we were on good terms. For him to accuse me of conniving with Lester made me beyond shocked and infuriated.“Where are you headed?” He asked even though his eyes were buried into his computer as he had creases on his forehead.I needed no soothsayer to tell me it was his company issues. The prices had gone down with investors withdrawing and on the internet, everything had turned to chaos. “None of your business,” I casually said, reme

Cora's POVAs I walked towards the dining room, my chest tingled with a different kind of feeling. Yesterday, Calvin had acted the most gentle I had ever seen him.He had taken me to my room, waited as I showered and saw me go to sleep before leaving and nothing had ever surprised me that much. Was he really the man I met on the first day? I reached the table and Calvin's scent greeted me first before his voice did.“Did you sleep well?”I nodded as Calvin ran his eyes on my body till they settled back on my face and he said the words, “you look beautiful.”Was that the first time? I bit the insides of my cheeks so my smile could look the faintest they ever could. “Thank you.”“You two sure look cute that way,” Lorraine's voice dripped in and I turned to her, “sorry for my interruption. Came to drop this,” Lorraine dropped the jug of tea on the table and left hurriedly.Silence reigned as we ate and drank and Calvin was finally ready to leave. “Have a good day, Cora.”I nodded as I ra

I stilled as Calvin narrowed an eye when he stepped in while I gazed at the woman. She was in a black top, a cream coloured blazer on her and a knee length skirt to match. She was wearing nothing out of the ordinary but I hated it. Why was she with Calvin?“You're still up,” Calvin was surprised and I nodded as I stood, my thoughts messy. Why did he bring a woman home right after we had sex?Why was a woman with him in the middle of the night? The woman adorned with red lipstick smiled at me. “Mrs Logan? It's a pleasure to meet you.”“Same,” I forced as I gazed at Calvin with a need for an explanation.“Cora, meet my new assistant. The ban was lifted and my company can start production now. I need to complete something with her so we're working till the next morning.”“A female assistant,” I muttered. When I looked it up then, Calvin didn't have many female workers and I never saw a female assistant.“You don't think it's wrong to have your assistant with you in the middle of the nigh

Fours? My jaw almost dropped and then Calvin raised a brow and at once, I was bent on my fours— for Calvin.“I'm about to show you another side of yourself,” Calvin whispered and he reached behind me and I stilled as I felt his dick on my butt.We were not about to have anal, were we?“Calvin, I can't do anal,” I ragged out and he scoffed.“You're dripping wet for me, I wouldn't starve those pretty lips of yours that I wanted to see again,” Calvin emphasized on that word, reminding me of the other day before I felt his hand on my waist, rolling my dress up.“Look ahead, Cora,”And then I saw the mirror. Myself in the mirror, shuddering as Calvin lifts my gown to my waist. And in a yank, the panties were off.Calvin inhaled a sharp breath then he cussed, “Fuck Cora,” and the hand met my butt, gently massaging my butt cheeks.“This ass is exactly like I want it.”Of course, I used the gym. After leaving a 2 year relationship, I used the gym for my mental health too.“Calvin,” I murmured

  • CALVIN: The Billionaire's Defiant Bride   Chapter 46— Way out

Cora's POV “She's so smart,” Calvin started as we transferred the video onto the laptop. I was seated beside Calvin while Alicia gazed at us with fury.We agreed to meet where she handed us the footage. Footage where Jayden ordered the poisoning of the drinks. He had meticulously caused a distraction the moment the car of the governor pulled into the hotel. And when the guards headed out to clear it, he had the drinks changed. Of course, which one of the guards would have thought to watch over a new wine completely protected in a bottle. No one would have ever thought of it. He's a genius, I must say.“Completely transferred,” Calvin said and at once Alicia stood to her feet, grabbed the disc because she still needed it. She and Jayden had planned to take both of us down.So while she didn't trust Jayden, she secretly took a video which was to our advantage. They're both sneaky and cunning. I like it.“Now, you both stay away from me or else I'll hunt you down,” her eyes sparkled wit

  • CALVIN: The Billionaire's Defiant Bride   Chapter 45— I needed that

Calvin’s POV Those pretty lips I had right under my gaze played repeatedly in my head as I buttoned the last button of my shirt.Yesterday while she folded her arms around herself yesterday as we headed towards the car, all I wanted to do was take away her worry.Seeing her so small and pitiable as she panicked yesterday hit a muscle in me intensifying my already feeling of guilt. And all I wanted to do was take away her worry. A good orgasm was one of the ways out and I took it but that definitely had an effect on me.Swollen and hard for her, I wanted to be inside of her but I couldn't. She hated me enough already.I sighed, grabbed my jacket and headed out of my room. Another day to hunt down Jayden. I probably had to see him. My company was upside down at the moment but I'd correct that.I got to the diner and met Lorraine pouring juice into a glass. I glanced at my seat and met my dish on the table. “Who are you pouring that for?”“Cora. She requested for one,” Lorraine replied

Warning: An average sexual content below As we sat in the car, I watched Calvin make a dozen calls, demanding for all footage across the road to the hotel the governor spent the night at.We were back at home but none of us were willing to go out especially since Calvin hasn't figured out a way.I understood him. Even though Jayden was a prime suspect, I'm sure he still hoped it wasn't him— his childhood friend.Because of Jayden his company's license was seized. His company was charged for food poisoning. The governor and his wife were in critical condition while the governor's aides only had stomach indigestion. And as expected from people who drank the wine at the reception, they claimed they also experienced stomach issues Now I was watching Calvin make thousands of calls to be able to see if he can get any tip. Any footage or proof.A call came in and he picked, “the footage was wiped out.”“God Dammit! What do you mean by that!” He screamed and ended the call and as I watched

Cora's POV“So you're dragging me into this huh? To help you save your company. I do not have to be involved in this,” I told Calvin when we reached the car. For such a vile person, I didn't need to be around them.“You're right,” he stared at me, not a hint of emotion in his eyes, “But it's Alicia here, haven't you always looked for a way to pay back? It's your chance here.”I stopped. That woman. She made Kaylee get arrested. Remembering those innocent eyes I saw earlier when I video called her after Brandon got her out, I decided if anyone needed justice, it was her.“Okay,” I plainly muttered and got into the car. Calvin got in and I watched how his muscles flexed as he grabbed hold of the wheel before heading outside.Calvin turned to me and we held eye contact before he smirked, “I like that eyes on me,”“I rather stare at a crazy man,” I rolled my eyes before taking my eyes off him. Nothing I hated more than the fact that his presence, his manly body affected me.Minutes passed

Calvin's POVI have dealt with tons of situations like that but it still puts me in a state of shock as I thought of Iris. She was up to something. And she knew I was investigating her?How the hell did she know that?I stared down at the tape. If things went well, it'll prove that Kaylee didn't delete those videos. But— I paused as I grabbed my laptop. It should show who did that and probably show the person who served Cora that drink.I immediately began playing the video, trying to skim through but I knew it was no use if I was skimming through. I sent it to my men at once and dialled Brandon's number.“Prepare to go get Kaylee out. I'll send you the details.”Within 30 minutes, I had my men watch about a day's video and the truth was out. Alicia did tamper with the recorded videos. She deleted the videos. But— the person who spiked her drink wasn't shown. One of the waiters probably got it done outside the main hall.I gave orders to Brandon who questioned me but I gave no reply.

Calvin's POVI stirred at the location indicator on the GPS and my brows creased. Alicia and Jayden were together minutes ago. I had managed to get my best hacker to get their location and transmit it to me.Now, one of them was leaving the villa.Different thoughts ran in my head before I steered the wheel and headed in the direction of whosoever was leaving. One thing was certain. It'd be related to the case. When I gazed down at the location transmitter, I raised a brow.Whoever was leaving, was heading to the reception where the wedding party took place.Minutes passed and I saw the red pointer stop moving. When I increased my speed, I reached the reception and I found the cops still guarding the entrance. As I got down from the car, I sighted the familiar car. It belonged to Jayden. So, did Jayden drive the car there? The decoration of the reception was still intact and gently, I made my way towards the entrance.“You're not allowed here,” one of the cops stopped me with a stretc
