"What?!" Her eyes widened, "A-are you sure?" she swallowed hard.

The corner of his lips lifted. "I am. Are you?"

"I-I don't think I ever will be," she said, her throat drying and her breath hitching. She balled her hands into fists, trapping fabric from the sheet.
