“I have an appointment. I will see you later tonight,” Elvis said.

“Are you spending the night with us?” Avery asked.

“Yes. See you later”

Elvis kissed Avery’s hand and left with his car.

Abel had parked his car at a close distance and was observing them.

As soon as Elvis’ lips touched Avery’s skin, Abel’s heart throbbed.

He clenched his chest for support. Afraid he would die if he let it go.

“Such a despicable woman.” Abel’s hand trembled. His eyes glued on the man that drove past him.

“You won’t blame Ms Clinton. You abandoned her first and if someone else finds her appealing, then why not? She deserves some happiness too” Jason said nonchalantly.

With a deadly glare, Abel contemplated choking Jason at that very moment.

Jason quickly shut up his mouth and focused on the road.

Jason was right; he was the one who abandoned his wife, but why did he feel like Avery abandoned him? Why did he feel so empty within?

Instantly, Avery’s car sped off. Abel knitted his brow as curiosity filled

He pulled the massive hair that covered her back aside, exposing her tanned skin to his lustful eyes. Swallowing the lump in his throat, Abel put the tray on a side stool. The tray held various types of oil bottles. He found the one labeled lavender oil. He took it, open it and poured out a little on his plam and then applied it on Avery's back. He moved his hands carefully, rubbing the oil around her shoulder. As soon as his rough hands touched her soft skin, Avery felt goosebumps all over her body and a gentle moan escaped from her lips. No wonder she was moaning endlessly.“Mr Copper, you have been following me the entire afternoon since after the press conference. Does that mean that you are less busy and have nothing else to do? Are you so much in need of a woman that you came here to do my massage?” Avery flared up as those words left her lips.“Avery” Abel called her name with a stony face as anger welled up in his eyes.Avery frowned.&

Abel came home restless. He felt like a loser. While Avery bubbled with happiness, his soul was empty and sad. Even though he never regarded Avery when they were both married, he couldn’t help the emptiness he felt inside his soul . Avery’s absence created a huge vacuum in his heart. A vacuum that drained out all the oxygen he needed for survival. The entrance of Elijah into Abel’s room brought him back to reality.“Sir, Ms Riana came to see you. She was here earlier, but you were not home. Should I bring her in?”“I don’t want to see her, send her home,” Abel said.Elijah was stunned. How could Abel send Riana home without seeing her? This has never happened before. This is the first time such a thing has ever happened, and he was happy to witness it.Elijah left the room to inform Riana.“Abel is not with you. Did he want me to come upstairs?" Riana said immediately she saw Elijah.“Not at all. Mr Copper does not wish to see you” Riana’s face was red. She glared at Elijah, frowni

“You, animal, how dare you disrespect me? I will make your life miserable in this house.” Riana roared.“That day is not coming soon. Stay outside,” Elijah fired back. He shut the door and locked it up from inside before Riana could re-enter.Feeling dejected and desperate, Riana hit hard on the door.“Open this door, useless idiot, don’t let me lay my hands on you. I will kill you, animal!” She continued banging on the door, but Elijah ignored her and refused to open up.Riana went out through the gate and returned with a huge stone. She banged the door even more with the stone. She was so loud that the quiet villa was disturbed. It was clear she was venting her anger on the door.“Abel, you must come out and tell me why you left me to suffer humiliation at the hands of Avery. How could you do this to me? Why didn’t you show up at the press conference? Don’t you care how much I was disgraced in the public because of Avery? The same woman that killed our baby.”Riana broke into tears.

Abel felt shocked at the revelation. Avery has said she would bring Meghan’s home to ruin and there is nothing he would do about it, and she did exactly that.“She is such a venomous woman,” Abel thought.“Still, you can’t spend the night here. I will send Jason to get you a decent place to stay. Why not wait for him to come?” Abel said.“What is so difficult for me to spend the night here? Aren’t we going to marry soon? I am your fiancee,” Riana was frustrated. She wanted to spend the night with Abel and sleep on his bed. But Abel seems to be stubborn. He took his phone and called Jason again.“Find a decent house for Ms Meghan. You can come to the house and pick her up when you are done” “Why? Did Ms Meghan have a problem with her family?” Jason asked.“Peter auctioned out their house to get a lawyer to Lucas. She has nowhere to stay”“Damn, Meghan’s group messed up. Now see where it landed them. My sincere advice to you, avoid Avery before you end up homeless like Meghan’s family

Tobias squeezed out water from the little towel in his hand and started cleaning the bruise on Avery’s neck. He had prepared hot water as soon as they came back. He stared at the place Abel’s finger wounded Avery and thought to himself.“If only she allowed me to beat him up”Tobias frowned his face and dipped the towel into the hot water, then placed it on the bruise.“Ouch, the water is hot,” Avery cried out. Her face was pale.“I will add cold water to it,” Tobias said and took the bowl of water to the bathroom. He came back shortly and continued to clean the bruise.“How could you allow him to hurt you this much, yet you won’t let me handle him,” Tobias said as he put the towel back into the bowel.“It’s nothing. I’m sure Abel didn’t mean to hurt me in this manner. He must have been pissed off by what happened to his fiancee. What man will refuse to fight for the woman he loves? After all, he loves Riana very much and could do anything for her”Avery smiled whirly to hide the hurt

Clinton's siblings came back home with their cousin Elvis. Avery was surprised. She never expected to see her brothers. Adam smiled sweetly at her and kissed her cheeks.“Where did you find them, Elvis?” Avery asked and hugged her brothers. She missed them a lot, even though they were only gone for a few days.Adam slumped on the couch next to Avery. While Sebastian sat between Tobias and Elvis.“I thought you guys were due to come back next week,” Avery said.“That was before we saw the news. You are such a bad guy. Look at how you reduce Meghan’s family to nothing. I love your vibe,” Adam smiled and wrapped his arms around Avery .“You surprised me, Avery, and I am proud of you. Who would’ve believed that our ever sweet calm sister could do such a thing?” Sebastian stared at Avery with admiration.“I couldn’t have done much without Elvis. He did the dirty job for me. You need to see Riana’s face when the video was played. That was my sweetest moment. Thank you, Elvis.” Avery giggled

And where are you going with my phone?” Douglas shouted, but Abel was already gone.Outside the VIP room, Abel turned to Jason, who was waiting in the corridor.“Keep that old fool in check and make sure he deletes all the videos,” Abel ordered.“Which video?” Jason asked in confusion.“The old fool has a video of Avery and me... making out.”Jason knitted his brows together, his expression shocked.“Don’t spare him. We'll talk about this later.""Are you going to buy us ice cream?" Aerial asked eagerly."Of course, I will.""But Mom says it's not good to eat too much sugar.""I h

“Don’t worry about the kids, Avery; I can take care of them,” Currie said the next morning after Avery received an emergency call from the hospital.Avery glanced at Currie, her expression softening as she touched her shoulder tenderly.“I didn’t know I would be needed at the hospital today. “Sister Nuu, were you pregnant for my brother before both of you divorced?” Currie asked, her voice curious yet cautious.Avery smiled nonchalantly and waved Currie away.“How can that be possible, Currie? Your brother divorced me the same day I was released. Could he have possibly impregnated me in prison?”Avery appeared calm and unfazed as she continued.“When I was married to your brother, had he ever considered me his wife? He wouldn’t even let me sleep on the same bed with him or stay in his room. So, tell me, do you think such a man would ever stand to see me naked, let alone father my children? Besides, he never stepped foot in my room.”Currie was shocked. She knew things weren’t going well between Avery and her brother, but she had never imagined it was this bad. What was wrong with Abel? How couldn’t he see Avery’s impeccable beauty? Why wouldn’t he appreciate her gorgeous body? Even as a woman, Currie saw Avery as an incredibly attractive person. She had watched other men

As soon as Avery settled behind the wheel with Currie beside her, she clasped the steering wheel tightly, her eyes wide with shock.“Did I just hit Axel?” she wondered. All her life, Avery had never used force against anyone, not even in self-defense classes. But Axel had left her with no other choice. She couldn’t let him take Currie away. She glanced over at Currie, noticing her friend was visibly trembling. Avery could almost hear her heart racing. She calmly placed her hand on Currie’s.“It’s all right, Currie. He’s gone now. I’ll take you home.”“Can you take me with you, Sister Nuu? I don’t want to go back home. I’m not ready to face Grandpa and Abel.”For Currie, Abel’s house had become her refuge, a place she saw as home. She avoided mentioning her father’s house, as did many others in their circle. Even Godwin was no longer comfortable with Nora, who had changed since Riana went to jail.“Please, let me spend the night at your place,” Currie pleaded.Avery thought for a momen

“Sister Nuu!” Currie called out from behind, unaware of the tense scene unfolding. She approached with a bright smile, holding two martinis, one in each hand.Axel’s eyes narrowed as he spotted her. In a swift, vicious movement, he grabbed her by the neck, pressing the knife close to her skin. Currie’s expression shifted from joy to terror as her hands trembled, the glasses slipping from her grip and shattering on the floor. But with the loud music blaring in the bar, no one noticed the broken glass and the crowd remained absorbed in their worlds, oblivious to the danger just feet away.Axel tightened his hold, leaning close to Currie’s ear with a sickly sweet grin as if they were just two lovers sharing a secret. “Smile, darling,” he whispered. “We don’t want to draw attention, do we?”Currie’s heart raced, but she forced a terrified smile, desperate not to make things worse. Axel gave her a rough shove, guiding her toward the door, their struggle hidden under the guise of a friendl

By the time Avery reached the cafe, Currie had called her over twenty times. “Are you trying to drain my battery with all these calls?” Avery said, sinking into the chair across from Currie.“Sis Nuu, don’t blame me. My heart is broken. Axel and I were supposed to be on our honeymoon in Mexico, but he ruined everything. I don’t know what to do with myself. The coffee here isn’t strong enough. Can we go to the bar across the road and grab a drink? Just a bottle?” Avery hesitated. “Currie, I don’t have the strength to carry a drunk woman. Why don’t you go home and rest instead?” “All I’ve done at home is stare at my wedding dress and cry. I’ll just keep watching it and crying some more. I don’t know what else to do. Please, just buy the bottle. We’ll be out of there quickly.” Seeing how crushed Currie was, Avery relented. “All right, one glass, and then we leave,” she said. Avery hated drinking alone at a bar, especially without any male company. This would be the first time
