Seconds from Death

The warehouse groaned like a dying beast, its structure collapsing in a violent symphony of fire and steel.

Dino lunged forward, instincts overtaking pain as he reached for Elena. A massive beam came crashing down, missing them by inches as the floor trembled beneath them. Flames roared around them, licking at his back, the heat searing his skin through his shirt.

Elena gasped, coughing weakly as the acrid smoke filled her lungs. She barely had the strength to move, her body limp against his.

Dino gritted his teeth. Not here. Not now.

Hoisting her into his arms, he forced himself to stand despite the weight pressing down on him—the weight of exhaustion, pain, and the undeniable truth that this place was turning into a tomb.

Through the smoke and fire, he could barely make out Alejandro’s figure in the distance, trapped between falling debris.

Their eyes met.

For a brief moment, time seemed to slow.

Alejandro’s lips curled in a defiant smirk, blood dripping from a ga

The night air was thick with smoke and gunpowder.Dino’s grip on Elena tightened as Sanchez stepped forward, his polished boots crunching against the gravel. His men formed a deadly wall behind him, guns gleaming under the dim warehouse floodlights. But Sanchez’s focus wasn’t on Dino.It was on Isabella. His cold, reptilian eyes raked over her, filled with something between amusement and mockery.“You came all this way,” Sanchez mused, shaking his head. “And for what, Isabella? To watch your golden boy crawl out of the fire while your other son burns?”Isabella stood her ground, though her chest felt like it had been crushed under a thousand weights.Alejandro.Somewhere under that pile of burning rubble was her firstborn, the son who had hated her, resented her, but was still her child. And Sanchez knew that.He was playing his games again.“I came to put an end to your madness,” Isabella said, her voice level but sharp as steel.Sanchez chuckled, a low, sinister sound. “Ah, Isabella

The Pursuit BeginsThe night air was thick with tension as Dino led Isabella and Elena through the darkened alleyways behind the abandoned warehouse. Elena’s body was weak, but she was alert, her sharp eyes scanning every shadow. Isabella walked beside them, silent but strong.Dino knew they had little time.Sanchez’s parting words echoed in his mind."Kill them all."It was only a matter of minutes before his men would descend upon them like wolves.Dino’s mind worked fast. They couldn’t escape the city—not yet. Sanchez’s reach was everywhere. The only advantage they had was that Dino knew the streets better than any of Sanchez’s men.“We need to get to my safe house,” Dino murmured.“There’s no time,” Isabella whispered. “Sanchez will expect that.”Dino hesitated. She was right.Sanchez knew his tactics. He would have his men waiting at every possible exit route, expecting them to run.But what if they didn’t?Dino’s mind clicked. The docks. Not for escape—for the fight. If they cou

Dino sat in the armored SUV, gripping the steering wheel so hard his knuckles turned white. His father had been a bodyguard for Sanchez. And Sanchez had killed him. The revelation burned in his chest like wildfire. The letter he had found—the one his father had written to his mother—was the final proof. Sanchez had orchestrated everything. His betrayal wasn’t just about control. It wasn’t just about power. It was personal. Elena, sitting beside him, watched his expression carefully. She reached over, placing her hand on his. “Dino,” she said softly. “We’ll make him pay.” Dino took a slow breath. “Not just pay. He’s going to feel what it’s like to have his world ripped apart.” Outside, the city lights blurred past. Tonight, they were going after Isabella. And if the information was correct, they were also going after Lorenzo. The Last Moretti Tomás’ voice came through the earpiece. “We’ve got confirmation. Lorenzo is still inside the prison. A single screen illuminated his face, displaying the footage of Lorenzo’s escape.Dino had struck again.Sanchez smirked.“Just like your father,” he murmured.Alejandro stood beside him, arms crossed. His expression was unreadable, but his jaw was tight.“You should have killed Lorenzo when you had the chance,” Alejandro said, his voice low.Sanchez chuckled. “And rob myself of the entertainment? No, my son, I wanted him to run.”Alejandro’s brow furrowed. “You wanted him free?”Sanchez swirled the whiskey in his glass. “I wanted him to lead Dino straight to me.”He turned to Alejandro, eyes gleaming.“Tell me, my son… How does it feel to know your mother chose your enemy?”Alejandro’s fists clenched, but he didn’t respond.Sanchez leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk.“We have Isab

A Family’s ShadowThe night was thick with tension. Dino stood at the head of the war table, his fingers pressing into the polished wood. Maps, blueprints, and surveillance images were spread before him.Elena sat beside him, scanning the images. Lorenzo leaned against the wall, his arms crossed. He looked too comfortable for a man about to march into hell.Tomas tapped his tablet. “We have confirmation. Sanchez is holding Isabella in the underground level of his resort.”Dino exhaled sharply. He had expected as much, but hearing it confirmed made his blood boil.“Security?” Elena asked.“Extreme,” Tomas replied. “Infrared sensors, motion detectors, and guards at every entrance. They want us to walk into a trap.”Lorenzo smirked. “That’s the thing about traps—they work best when the prey doesn’t know it’s coming.”Dino eyed him. “You sound too confident.”Lorenzo shrugged. “I’ve been in that hellhole before.”Elena glanced up, surprised. “You’ve been inside the resort?”Lorenzo’s smir

A Mother’s AnguishIsabella’s wrists burned against the ropes. Her breathing was shallow, her heart pounding against her ribs. The cold steel chair beneath her was the least of her worries.Across from her, Sanchez leaned back, sipping a glass of whiskey. His smirk was cruel, his gaze sharp with amusement.“You know, Isabella, I always wondered…” He swirled the drink lazily. “How does it feel to have raised a son destined to destroy everything you once loved?”Isabella’s lips pressed into a thin line. “You don’t know anything about my son.”Sanchez chuckled. “Oh, but I do. I trained him. I made him.” He leaned forward, his voice low. “And I will break him.”She clenched her fists. “You think you still have control, but Dino is not like you. He will never be you.”Sanchez exhaled, unfazed. “Then let’s see how far he’s willing to go to prove it.”He gestured to one of his men. The explosion had subsided, there was debris scattered across the floor and smoke curling from the broken walls.Dino tightened his grip on Isabella, steadying her as she swayed. Did you really think you could storm in here and take what’s mine?”Dino’s jaw clenched. His mother was not a possession.“You’re a coward, Alejandro,” Dino said coldly. “Always hiding behind your father’s name, his power, his schemes. The tension in the air was palpable as Dino paced inside the newly established safe house, his mind racing through the series of events that had unfolded as they awaited the result of their decoy trap. He knew that the walls were closing in on Sanchez, but he also knew that a man like Sanchez wouldn’t go down without a fight.Elena watched him from the couch, her eyes filled with worry. She had seen Dino in countless battles, but something about this moment felt different. The weight of the war, the betrayals, and the losses they had suffered hung heavily on him."Dino," she finally spoke, her voice soft yet firm. "You haven't rested since we moved here. You need to take a break."Dino stopped, exhaling deeply before running a hand through his hair. "I can’t afford to rest, Elena. Sanchez is desperate, and desperate men do reckless things."Before Elena could respond, Tomiwa walked in, his arm still in a sling from his previous injury. "We've got intel," he announced, making both Dino

The tension in the criminal underworld reached a boiling point as Sanchez found himself cornered. His alliances with the other drug lords were beginning to crumble, and the recent failure of his arms deal only added fuel to the fire. He slammed his fist against his mahogany desk, sending a half-empty glass of whiskey tumbling to the floor."What do you mean the shipment was intercepted?" He barked into the phone, his knuckles turning white as he gripped the receiver. "Do you realize what this means? We are bleeding money, and Alejandro's failure with the migrant routes is making matters worse!"On the other end of the line, his contact in the arms trade stammered. "Sanchez, the Feds had inside information. They were waiting for us. We barely managed to escape. Someone tipped them off."Sanchez clenched his jaw. "Someone inside my ranks betrayed me." He slammed the phone down, his eyes dark with fury. He turned to Alejandro, who sat across from him, fuming.Alejandro exhaled sharply. "

Sanchez paced his lavishly furnished study, the glow of a dim lamp casting long shadows across the walls as the night was thick with tension. The news was grim. His arms deal, which was supposed to secure a fresh shipment of high-grade weapons, had failed disastrously. The shipment had been intercepted at the docks, leaving his cartel vulnerable and enraging his clients.Alejandro stormed into the room, his jaw clenched. "Another bust? How the hell did they know?"Sanchez slammed his fist against the table. "Someone's feeding them information. This is more than bad luck."Frustration and paranoia filling the atmosphere in the room was heavy. Alejandro rubbed his temples, struggling to contain his anger. "And the migrants? I had a line set up to push them through the ports, but Dino's new strategies are tightening the noose. Our couriers are either detained or too afraid to make a move."Sanchez exhaled sharply. "He's making it personal.""It already was," Alejandro hissed, his eyes da

The night was eerily silent as Dino and Tomiwa sat inside the dimly lit command room of their new safe house, a location known only to them. The move had been necessary—Sanchez’s men had been circling too close, and the last thing they needed was another ambush. Tomiwa, despite his injuries, insisted on being in charge of every detail of the relocation. The safe house was a sprawling estate hidden deep in the countryside, a place that had once been a private retreat for a reclusive businessman. Now, it was reinforced with state-of-the-art security, high walls, and a perimeter surveillance system that only Tomiwa had access to.“Is everything set?” Dino asked, his voice laced with exhaustion.Tomiwa nodded. “Yes. Isabella, Elena, Capello, and Luciana have all been moved. It was done in stages over the last twenty-four hours. No one followed them.”Dino exhaled slowly. “Good. We can’t afford another close call. Sanchez is getting desperate.”Tomiwa’s gaze darkened. “There’s something el

The safe house was humming with tension, as the recent attacks, betrayals, and revelations had left the air thick with unease. Dino, still recovering from his injuries, sat in the dimly lit study, scrolling through encrypted messages from his political allies. They needed his support, a show of strength against Sanchez and his growing network of corruption. Despite everything, Dino knew he couldn’t sit idle.Tomiwa, his right-hand man, limped into the room. He was still healing, but his mind remained sharp. "Dino, there’s a problem. We’ve got a sellout in our establishment. Someone has been feeding Sanchez’s men intel. We don’t know who it is yet, but we need to act fast."Dino sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Whoever it is, they’re close enough to track our every move. We need to set a trap."Meanwhile, Elena had cornered Capello in the safe house’s lounge. Her patience had run thin. "Father, I want the truth. Why was my mother killed? And don’t you dare lie to me."Capello

The safe house was eerily silent except for the occasional hum of the security system and the distant rustling of leaves outside. The place had been fortified since their arrival , and Dino’s security personnel were constantly on alert, monitoring every movement beyond the perimeter. They knew Sanchez's men wouldn't stop hunting them. The tension in the air was tense. Despite heading to the monastery as a diversion for Victor’s men, who they perceived were coming earlier.Inside the dimly lit room, Elena sat across from her father, Capello, her arms folded, her piercing gaze locked onto him. Like an unspoken curse, the weight of their past hung between them.“Why, Papa? Why did you help us now, after everything?” She asked, her voice barely above a whisper but thick with emotion. Capello exhaled heavily, running a hand over his weary face. “I had no choice, Elena. I made a mistake all those years ago, but when I saw the chance to make things right, I took it.”Elena’s eyes narrowed.

The night air outside the safe house carried a deceptive calm, but inside, the tension was suffocating. Tomiwa remained unconscious, his breathing shallow but steady. Dino, though still recovering from his wounds, forced himself upright. There was no time to rest; danger was always lurking behind them.Elena was beside him in an instant. "Dino, you need more time to heal. Pushing yourself won’t help anyone."Dino met her gaze, his fingers brushing over her hand. "I know. But something isn’t right. The Ghost is gone, but our enemies haven’t stopped moving. Sanchez may be wounded, but he isn’t done."As if in response to his words, a sharp knock echoed through the safe house. Everyone tensed. Capello reached for his gun, Luciana silently moved her mother behind her, and Elena’s breath caught in her throat.Dino motioned for silence. He exchanged a glance with Capello, then nodded. Capello moved to the door, gun raised, and slowly cracked it open. A gust of wind swept in, along with the

The battle had been won, but its price was steep. The safe house was a sanctuary flickered with candlelight and hushed whispers, hidden deep in the Genoa countryside. The wooden floors were stained with blood , a mild proof of the struggle that had brought them here.Dino, sitting against the edge of a makeshift cot, had his breathing labored, his body riddled with bruises and bandages. Across the room, Tomiwa, his most trusted friend and employee, lay unconscious, his wounds far worse. The gunshot to his shoulder had taken a heavy toll, and though the doctor assured them he would live, the sight of him so still sent a sharp pain through Dino’s chest.Elena knelt beside Dino, pressing a cool cloth to his forehead. Her face was pale, her eyes red-rimmed from worry. "You’re too stubborn to die on me, right?" she whispered, forcing a small smile and kissing his forehead.Dino chuckled weakly, wincing at the movement. "Damn right. We still have a wedding to plan."Elena laughed softly, bu

As the group gathered, the moon cast long shadows over the water, their breaths heavy with heaves of exhaustion. The ghost led them through a maze of abandoned tunnels as they emerged in a secluded dockyard on the city's outskirts. The aftermath of their narrow escape left them battered but determined with fighting zeal."I didn’t think I’d see you again." Dino turned to The Ghost, his former trainer, a man dipped in legend and mystery. "You always had a habit of attracting trouble, Dino. I felt you’d need a way out." The ghost smirked, his rugged face unreadable. Before Dino could respond, Capello stepped forward. "We have to keep moving. Sanchez and his men won’t rest until we’re dead."Luciana tightened her grip on her weapon, her body still tense from their encounter with Sergio. "He knew we were coming. That means someone is still leaking information."Tomiwa scowled. "Sergio was a snake. But if there’s another traitor among us, we need to find out before it’s too late."Before
