Dino sat in the dimly lit safehouse, his fingers tapping against the armrest of his chair. The name Enzo Moretti echoed in his mind. A ghost from the past—one he had never heard of, yet somehow tied to his mother’s fate.

Elena paced in front of him, arms crossed. “I ran the name through our databases. No public records, no social security number. It’s like he never existed.”

Sergio leaned against the wall, arms folded. “Which means he’s either dead… or very good at hiding.”

Dino exhaled sharply. “Then we make him come to us.”

Elena frowned. “How?”

Dino’s eyes darkened. “By rattling Sanchez’s cage.”

A Baited Trap

Hours later, Dino and Sergio sat inside an unmarked black SUV parked across from one of Sanchez’s lesser-known clubs—a hub for his illegal migration business.

Sergio adjusted his earpiece. “Are you sure about this?”

Dino’s gaze remained fixed on the club entrance. “We go in, make some noise, and force Sanchez to react. If Moretti is connected, he’ll show up.”

Sergio grinned. “

The night air carried the acrid scent of gunpowder as gunmen closed in from the trees.Bullets ripped through the wooden walls of the cabin, shattering glass and sending splinters flying. Dino pressed Elena against the floor, shielding her as Sergio fired back. “We’re sitting ducks here!” Sergio growled.Enzo Moretti, his face pale, clutched his side where a bullet had grazed him. “Sanchez won’t stop! He knows I know too much.”Dino’s jaw clenched. “We move. Now!”A Fight in the DarkSergio lobbed a smoke grenade through the broken window. As thick gray fog consumed the cabin, Dino pulled Elena up and guided her toward the back door.Enzo struggled to keep up, his breath ragged.A gunman appeared in the clearing—Dino took him down with a swift elbow to the throat, twisting his gun away before knocking him unconscious. Another came from behind. Dino spun, delivering a brutal side kick to his ribs, then a finishing blow to the temple.Elena grabbed a discarded pistol, her hands steady

The first gunshot shattered the night.Dino lunged, pulling Elena to the ground as the window exploded in a rain of glass. Sergio flipped the table for cover, gun already in hand.More gunfire. Tires screeched outside. Shadows moved beyond the broken window. Sanchez’s men had found them.Dino grabbed a pistol from the floor, eyes flashing to Sergio. “We hold them off. Get Enzo out!”Enzo, still weak from his wound, tried to move, but Elena was already at his side, gripping his arm. “We need to go now.”Another shot ripped through the air, just missing Sergio’s head. He fired back, hitting one of the gunmen.Dino turned toward Elena. “Go! I’ll cover you!”Elena hesitated, eyes locked onto his. But then she nodded, gripping Enzo tighter as she ducked low and moved toward the back exit.Sergio provided cover fire, taking down another attacker. Dino grabbed a second gun from the fallen man, his mind clear, body moving on instinct. One shot. Two. A swift kick to disarm another enemy. But t

The tension in the air was thick. The moment Capello’s message came through, Dino knew this wasn’t just a meeting—it was a trap.Elena sat stiffly in the passenger seat, her fingers curled into fists. Her father had betrayed her mother. He had watched as Sanchez silenced her, and now he wanted to see Elena.Dino’s grip tightened around the wheel. “We’re not going.”Elena turned to him, her voice steady but laced with pain. “I have to.”“No, you don’t.” Dino’s jaw clenched. “Capello’s been playing both sides for years. We show up, and we’re dead.”Sergio, seated in the back, exhaled. “Dino’s right. We need to get to that locker first. Your mother risked everything to hide that evidence.”Elena’s eyes burned. “You think I don’t know that? But if I don’t go, he’ll send people after us.” She looked at Dino. “This is my father. I need to look him in the eye and see if there’s any part of him worth saving.”Dino shook his head. Capello had already proven who he was.But Elena had made up he

The night air was thick with tension as Dino pressed down on the gas, weaving through the darkened streets of Genoa. They had to reach the docks before Sanchez’s men did.Elena sat beside him, her fingers tapping anxiously against her knee. Sergio, in the backseat, checked his gun. “If Sanchez is already moving, we don’t have much time.”Dino’s jaw clenched. “Then we move faster.”They pulled into the docks, headlights cutting through the fog. The container yard stretched before them, steel towers of crates stacked like a labyrinth. Somewhere in the shadows, Sanchez’s men were waiting.Dino cut the engine. “We get in, grab the locker, and get out.”Elena nodded. “Fast and quiet.”Sergio smirked, checking his pistol. “Fast, maybe. Quiet? We’ll see.”Moving swiftly, they crept between the shipping containers, the scent of salt and rust thick in the air. Somewhere in this yard was the evidence Elena’s mother had hidden—proof of Sanchez’s empire.A distant clang echoed. They weren’t alone

Dino’s fingers drummed restlessly against the steering wheel as they sped through the dimly lit streets of Genoa. His mind was still reeling from Marco’s revelation. His mother was alive. The thought was impossible to ignore. He had grown up believing she was dead—another casualty of Sanchez’s cruelty. And yet, Marco had smirked as he spoke, as if taunting him with the truth.Elena, seated beside him, cast a worried glance his way. “Dino… Are you okay?”He didn’t answer.Sergio sighed from the backseat. “Dino, we need a plan. If Sanchez has been keeping your mother hidden all these years, she could be anywhere.”Dino exhaled sharply. There was one place to start.“Sanchez has a safe house outside the city. It was never on his official properties list, but I remember hearing about it when I was a kid. My mother used to go there… before she disappeared.”Sergio’s eyebrows raised. “You think she might be there?”“I think it’s the only lead we’ve got.”Elena squeezed his arm. “Then let’s

The dim glow of overhead floodlights cast long shadows as the rows of towering cargo containers stretched endlessly. The arrival of Dino, Elena, and Sergio at the Genoa shipping yard was met with a night air thick with the salty scent of the sea.Dino’s grip on his gun was firm, his mind razor-sharp. His mother was here. Somewhere. And Sanchez knew he was coming.Elena adjusted her earpiece. “Security’s light, but that’s not a good sign.”Sergio scanned the perimeter with binoculars. “Yeah. Too easy.”Dino’s jaw tightened. This was a trap. But it didn’t matter.“We go in,” he said. “Fast and quiet.”Inside the ShadowsThey moved between containers like ghosts, their footsteps silent on the cold pavement.Sergio pointed. “That warehouse. The one with the guards.”Dino nodded. It made sense. If his mother were here, they’d keep her close. Two men stood at the entrance, armed but relaxed.Amateurs.Dino signaled. Elena slipped behind the first guard, wrapping an arm around his neck. He s

The black SUV sped through the dimly lit streets of Genoa, its tires humming against the asphalt. Dino sat in the backseat, holding his mother close as she shivered beneath a heavy blanket. Her frail body trembled, but she was alive. That was all that mattered. Elena sat beside them, her hand resting lightly on Dino’s knee. A silent comfort. Sergio, behind the wheel, glanced at the rearview mirror. “We’re clear. No tails.” Dino barely heard him. His mind was still back in that burning warehouse, replaying every moment. The moment he had Sanchez at his mercy. The moment he let him live. His mother’s weak voice pulled him from his thoughts. “I thought I’d never see you again.” Dino swallowed hard. “I should’ve found you sooner.” Her fingers clutched him. “It’s not your fault. He took me away before you even had a chance.” Dino’s eyes darkened. Sanchez had hidden her from him all these years. But why? He met Sergio’s gaze. “We need to find out how deep this goes. If Sanchez kept

The first strike came quietly.Dino’s security outfit ran like a fortress—tight, disciplined, nearly impenetrable. But that night, one of his best men, Luca Romano, vanished. No calls. No signs of struggle. Just gone.Dino stood in the dim glow of his office, staring at the empty chair where Luca usually sat during briefing meetings. The air was thick with unease. His men—loyal, trained, and battle-hardened—stood in tense silence, waiting for his command.Sergio, his second-in-command, broke the silence. “This isn’t a coincidence.”Dino exhaled sharply, his mind already reaching the inevitable conclusion. “Sanchez.”Elena stood near the window, arms crossed, her expression tight. She had seen this coming. “He’s testing you,” she murmured.Dino ran a hand through his hair. He knew Sanchez well enough to recognize a pattern. This wasn’t an ordinary attack—it was psychological warfare. Sanchez wasn’t trying to destroy him outright. Not yet. He was cutting at the foundation, piece by piec

  • Burn Loot   Chapter 111

The tension in the air was palpable as Dino paced inside the newly established safe house, his mind racing through the series of events that had unfolded as they awaited the result of their decoy trap. He knew that the walls were closing in on Sanchez, but he also knew that a man like Sanchez wouldn’t go down without a fight.Elena watched him from the couch, her eyes filled with worry. She had seen Dino in countless battles, but something about this moment felt different. The weight of the war, the betrayals, and the losses they had suffered hung heavily on him."Dino," she finally spoke, her voice soft yet firm. "You haven't rested since we moved here. You need to take a break."Dino stopped, exhaling deeply before running a hand through his hair. "I can’t afford to rest, Elena. Sanchez is desperate, and desperate men do reckless things."Before Elena could respond, Tomiwa walked in, his arm still in a sling from his previous injury. "We've got intel," he announced, making both Dino

The tension in the criminal underworld reached a boiling point as Sanchez found himself cornered. His alliances with the other drug lords were beginning to crumble, and the recent failure of his arms deal only added fuel to the fire. He slammed his fist against his mahogany desk, sending a half-empty glass of whiskey tumbling to the floor."What do you mean the shipment was intercepted?" He barked into the phone, his knuckles turning white as he gripped the receiver. "Do you realize what this means? We are bleeding money, and Alejandro's failure with the migrant routes is making matters worse!"On the other end of the line, his contact in the arms trade stammered. "Sanchez, the Feds had inside information. They were waiting for us. We barely managed to escape. Someone tipped them off."Sanchez clenched his jaw. "Someone inside my ranks betrayed me." He slammed the phone down, his eyes dark with fury. He turned to Alejandro, who sat across from him, fuming.Alejandro exhaled sharply. "

Sanchez paced his lavishly furnished study, the glow of a dim lamp casting long shadows across the walls as the night was thick with tension. The news was grim. His arms deal, which was supposed to secure a fresh shipment of high-grade weapons, had failed disastrously. The shipment had been intercepted at the docks, leaving his cartel vulnerable and enraging his clients.Alejandro stormed into the room, his jaw clenched. "Another bust? How the hell did they know?"Sanchez slammed his fist against the table. "Someone's feeding them information. This is more than bad luck."Frustration and paranoia filling the atmosphere in the room was heavy. Alejandro rubbed his temples, struggling to contain his anger. "And the migrants? I had a line set up to push them through the ports, but Dino's new strategies are tightening the noose. Our couriers are either detained or too afraid to make a move."Sanchez exhaled sharply. "He's making it personal.""It already was," Alejandro hissed, his eyes da

The night was eerily silent as Dino and Tomiwa sat inside the dimly lit command room of their new safe house, a location known only to them. The move had been necessary—Sanchez’s men had been circling too close, and the last thing they needed was another ambush. Tomiwa, despite his injuries, insisted on being in charge of every detail of the relocation. The safe house was a sprawling estate hidden deep in the countryside, a place that had once been a private retreat for a reclusive businessman. Now, it was reinforced with state-of-the-art security, high walls, and a perimeter surveillance system that only Tomiwa had access to.“Is everything set?” Dino asked, his voice laced with exhaustion.Tomiwa nodded. “Yes. Isabella, Elena, Capello, and Luciana have all been moved. It was done in stages over the last twenty-four hours. No one followed them.”Dino exhaled slowly. “Good. We can’t afford another close call. Sanchez is getting desperate.”Tomiwa’s gaze darkened. “There’s something el

  • Burn Loot   Chapter 107

The safe house was humming with tension, as the recent attacks, betrayals, and revelations had left the air thick with unease. Dino, still recovering from his injuries, sat in the dimly lit study, scrolling through encrypted messages from his political allies. They needed his support, a show of strength against Sanchez and his growing network of corruption. Despite everything, Dino knew he couldn’t sit idle.Tomiwa, his right-hand man, limped into the room. He was still healing, but his mind remained sharp. "Dino, there’s a problem. We’ve got a sellout in our establishment. Someone has been feeding Sanchez’s men intel. We don’t know who it is yet, but we need to act fast."Dino sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Whoever it is, they’re close enough to track our every move. We need to set a trap."Meanwhile, Elena had cornered Capello in the safe house’s lounge. Her patience had run thin. "Father, I want the truth. Why was my mother killed? And don’t you dare lie to me."Capello

  • Burn Loot   Chapter 106

The safe house was eerily silent except for the occasional hum of the security system and the distant rustling of leaves outside. The place had been fortified since their arrival , and Dino’s security personnel were constantly on alert, monitoring every movement beyond the perimeter. They knew Sanchez's men wouldn't stop hunting them. The tension in the air was tense. Despite heading to the monastery as a diversion for Victor’s men, who they perceived were coming earlier.Inside the dimly lit room, Elena sat across from her father, Capello, her arms folded, her piercing gaze locked onto him. Like an unspoken curse, the weight of their past hung between them.“Why, Papa? Why did you help us now, after everything?” She asked, her voice barely above a whisper but thick with emotion. Capello exhaled heavily, running a hand over his weary face. “I had no choice, Elena. I made a mistake all those years ago, but when I saw the chance to make things right, I took it.”Elena’s eyes narrowed.

The night air outside the safe house carried a deceptive calm, but inside, the tension was suffocating. Tomiwa remained unconscious, his breathing shallow but steady. Dino, though still recovering from his wounds, forced himself upright. There was no time to rest; danger was always lurking behind them.Elena was beside him in an instant. "Dino, you need more time to heal. Pushing yourself won’t help anyone."Dino met her gaze, his fingers brushing over her hand. "I know. But something isn’t right. The Ghost is gone, but our enemies haven’t stopped moving. Sanchez may be wounded, but he isn’t done."As if in response to his words, a sharp knock echoed through the safe house. Everyone tensed. Capello reached for his gun, Luciana silently moved her mother behind her, and Elena’s breath caught in her throat.Dino motioned for silence. He exchanged a glance with Capello, then nodded. Capello moved to the door, gun raised, and slowly cracked it open. A gust of wind swept in, along with the

The battle had been won, but its price was steep. The safe house was a sanctuary flickered with candlelight and hushed whispers, hidden deep in the Genoa countryside. The wooden floors were stained with blood , a mild proof of the struggle that had brought them here.Dino, sitting against the edge of a makeshift cot, had his breathing labored, his body riddled with bruises and bandages. Across the room, Tomiwa, his most trusted friend and employee, lay unconscious, his wounds far worse. The gunshot to his shoulder had taken a heavy toll, and though the doctor assured them he would live, the sight of him so still sent a sharp pain through Dino’s chest.Elena knelt beside Dino, pressing a cool cloth to his forehead. Her face was pale, her eyes red-rimmed from worry. "You’re too stubborn to die on me, right?" she whispered, forcing a small smile and kissing his forehead.Dino chuckled weakly, wincing at the movement. "Damn right. We still have a wedding to plan."Elena laughed softly, bu

  • Burn Loot   Chapter 103

As the group gathered, the moon cast long shadows over the water, their breaths heavy with heaves of exhaustion. The ghost led them through a maze of abandoned tunnels as they emerged in a secluded dockyard on the city's outskirts. The aftermath of their narrow escape left them battered but determined with fighting zeal."I didn’t think I’d see you again." Dino turned to The Ghost, his former trainer, a man dipped in legend and mystery. "You always had a habit of attracting trouble, Dino. I felt you’d need a way out." The ghost smirked, his rugged face unreadable. Before Dino could respond, Capello stepped forward. "We have to keep moving. Sanchez and his men won’t rest until we’re dead."Luciana tightened her grip on her weapon, her body still tense from their encounter with Sergio. "He knew we were coming. That means someone is still leaking information."Tomiwa scowled. "Sergio was a snake. But if there’s another traitor among us, we need to find out before it’s too late."Before
