CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE

SANDRO DAVALO

Seems we're stuck with her!

We could not bear being in our terrible mood for long, so I and Alex decided that we were still going to attend the party.

When we got there, I wasn’t comfortable with anything. The music thumped loudly around me—a pulsating beat that should have made the atmosphere lively and fun. But I couldn’t shake this nagging feeling that something was wrong, either with me or with someone I cared about.

Glancing around, I saw Alex over in the corner, frolicking with some of the girls, looking so carefree. He was chatting up Megan, a cheerleader with golden hair and a sparkling laugh, while I struggled to make sense of what was happening to me. I felt disconnected from the joyous energy around me like I was watching everything unfold through a hazy lens.

The room was filled with familiar faces—friends laughing, drinks flowing, and the aroma of popcorn and pizza wafting through the air. It was the kind of p

The timing felt strange and bittersweet, but I cherished every second. We sat close on the couch, sharing stories and laughter, the room was illuminated by the soft glow of a lamp in the corner. His presence warmed me, a stark contrast to the flickering uncertainties that loomed in the back of my mind.“I can’t believe you’re leaving,” I muttered, trying to keep my voice steady, though a hint of sadness slipped through. “You just got here.”“I know, it sucks,” he replied, running a hand through his tousled hair. “But I have to go see my family before I leave for school.”“Will you be gone long?” I probed, biting my lip as I leaned against him. “Just a couple of weeks,” he wrapped an arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer. “I promise I’ll be back before you know it, and then

CHAPTER SIXTY ONE ALEX DAVALO I reject you!At Nadia's statement, I was the first to speak, my voice sharp against the heated tension. "What are you saying?"She let out a chuckle, the kind that made me question whether it was amusement or pure temptation. "Did I say anything wrong? You've been doing it, so don't act surprised.Fuck me, I want it."The words hung in the air, and we could not deny it. I hesitated fucking her at first, but there was no denying the pull she had over me. She didn't need to move, she didn't need to say more. Just the way her body curved, and the way her skin glistened faintly under the dim light, was enough to make my cock stiffen painfully.Sandro didn't think twice. A smile curved on his lips, one that spoke of intense desire and hunger. "As you wish." As soon as he approached Nadia, who was already naked, he murmured. "You're sure about this?" She nodded, biting her bottom lip, her eyes dark with need.Sandro'

CHAPTER SIXTY TWO NADIA The Wolf Within!I had stayed back after class to prepare for the test that was coming up. The classroom was empty now, just me and the scent of books and old paper. I spread my materials out across the desk alone. Mark had offered to stay with me until I was done, but I declined his request. I just didn't want him anywhere around me. He had crossed too many lines, especially after I discovered that he was behind the heartbreaking letter I had thought Jack wrote when he left our school for another. The letter had made me feel so sad and angry, and I had been naive enough to believe it was genuine. I was furious at Mark, and while he seemed to want to help me, I found it hard to forget how he had deceived me. "Do you hate me?" he had asked me immediately after I had turned him down. I didn’t hesitate to respond. “No, but I don’t like you,” I blurted out. Now, sitting in the quiet of the classroom, I found myself starin

CHAPTER SIXTY THREE ALEX DAVALO It was frightening!Sandro and I had been driving home after class that day when I suddenly began to feel a sharp pain shooting through my body. It was strange and unsettling, like an electric current stinging under my skin. I furrowed my brow, gripping the steering wheel tightly as I tried to push through the discomfort. “What the hell is this?” I muttered, trying to focus on the road ahead. The jazz music softly playing in the background did little to ease my anxiety. Sandro, oblivious to my inner turmoil, bobbed his head to the rhythm, tapping his fingers on the dashboard. I glanced at him, wishing I could share how I was feeling, but the words were stuck in my throat.“Hey, man, are you good?” Sandro asked, finally noticing my silence. He shot me a quick glance, his expression shifting from carefree to concerned. “Not really,” I admitted, my voice low as I gritted my teeth against the pain. “I don’t know what’s goi

CHAPTER SIXTY FOUR ALEX DAVALO Not as easy as she makes it look! That night, I walked over to my mother's private chamber. The scent of lavender mixed with the faint aroma of herbs hung in the air like a shroud. Flickering candlelight danced across the stone walls, casting warm shadows that felt both comforting and haunting. The heavy oak door creaked open, and, even before I stepped inside, I sensed that familiar heaviness in my chest. "Leave us alone," she said to the healer the moment she saw me. The healer, a new one, an elderly woman with silver hair braided tightly, nodded solemnly and slipped out, closing the door behind her."Mom..." I said, my voice barely above a whisper. Her eyes, though dimmed by pain, glittered with that same unwavering warmth that always melted my worries. But tonight, it just broke my heart even more. We all knew her condition wasn’t getting better. In fact, we all knew that it was just a matter of days before she finally kicke

~Nadia “Only an hour? You promise?”“I promise, Nadia. Only an hour.”The guys had organized a pool party, and when Jasmine first mentioned it to me, I felt a pit in my stomach. I didn’t feel good about attending, but Jasmine had this way of pulling me out of my comfort zone that I couldn't easily resist."It’s just a pool party, Nadia," Jasmine insisted, waving her hand like I was overreacting. “It's not just a pool party. You seem to have forgotten how we were treated the last time,” I reminded her.“Come on, Nadia, that was just a mistake, and the guys apologised. Everyone makes mistakes.”“I'm surprised you consider their sarcastic words an apology,” I said, clearly not impressed with her desperate attempt to make excuses for them.“It's just a pool party, Nadia. We are not the only people who will be attending, you seem to forget.” Left with no other option, I agreed. And that was how we found ourselves at the pool party, surrounded by throngs of students from our high school

Now, at long last, I would not have to see their faces ever again.“We made it,” Jasmine whispered to me as we took our seats amongst the other graduating students. The graduation stage was set brightly, adorned with balloons and flowers that seemed to celebrate our escape from this chapter of our lives.“Yes, we did.” I managed to say, a knot forming in my throat.“You don’t look happy. What’s wrong, Nadia?” Jasmine asked, as her eyes scanned my face with genuine curiosit

CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT ALEX DAVALO She told him!It looked like a regular Friday evening, safe for the sounds of the birds settling into their nests. The sun was dipping low on the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. Sandro and I were in the living room of our house, getting ready for the birthday party our buddy, Todd, had organized. It was supposed to be a fun night filled with laughter, music, and too much junk food. But before we headed there, we had one little mission to accomplish: we were going to stop by Nadia’s place and force her to attend with us. She didn’t fit in, and Sandro and I had competed to outdo each other with our taunts. The idea behind our plan was simple. Not only were we going to drag her out of her comfort zone, but we also wanted to show her that she was still an outsider, especially after discovering that our shared mate bond tied us to her, despite what she thought. The truth was harsh—Sandro and I h

Her brow was furrowed, and the way she bit her lip suggested that she was both nervous and serious. I could tell that she was genuinely concerned, but all I could manage was a quick shake of my head."No," I just said, avoiding contact with her searching eyes. I focused instead on the floor tiles’ grey pattern, trying not to get lost in the depths of her hazel gaze."Then why are you avoiding me?" she countered, clearly unimpressed with my response. I could feel a knot tightening in my stomach. I didn't want to be here, in the aftermath of a confrontation I had been dreading for days."Nothing," I responded, quickly pushing past her as the bell rang, signaling the end of class. My mind whirled with thoughts of Sandro, who was already waiting for me outside. I needed to get out of this building and away from the tension Beth
