My heart pounded as I stared at Mark, his vague words echoed in my mind, ‘It's not safe for you to know, Chloe.’ But I needed to know, I thought. He couldn't expect me to act like nothing happened and everything was fine, what could he be hiding? My thoughts wandered as I stared at him.
