Chapter 4: I didn’t push her, she fell down herself

As Teddy came out of the doctor’s office, he was shocked to see Ava falling off the stairs. He didn’t even think twice before screaming her name and rushing towards her like the wind. He pushed Jane out of the way, making her land on her butt due to how weak she is. Who would have thought this unfeeling man had this side to someone who isn’t his wife.

Ava has already calculated everything, since she wanted to get Teddy back as soon as possible, there is nothing she couldn’t do, even if it’s to sustain some superficial wounds.

As Teddy rushed down the stairs to check on Ava’s condition, he saw that her forehead was bleeding profusely.

He was so angry that his body was about to convulse. He rushed down the stairs as he wanted to pick her up, but without knowing the extent of her injuries, he didn’t dare to move recklessly.

“What are you sitting there for? Call the doctor.” He shouted at Jane, who was struggling to stand on her feet. She shivered uncontrollably at his hoarse voice.

Some nurses who heard the commotion came forward immediately as they placed Ava on the stretcher. They took her to the emergency room immediately.

Thinking about what just happened, Jane couldn’t help but notice that Ava had just played her. If she has to compliment her, she should be given a medal for being a good actress.

Two hot slap was delivered to Jane cheeks bringing her out of her reverie. Looking at the man in front of her seething with anger, she knew it was over, but she still stood her ground.

“Ted, How dare you slap me? I didn’t push her, she fell down herself. And did you know that Ava’s sickness has been cured since a month ago. She had been pretending all this while. It’s because I knew her secret, that’s why she wants to frame me.”Jane angrily blurted out all her frustration.

“Just shut up already. Haven’t you harmed her enough? You have the guts to lie to me that she has been feigning her sickness for a month now. Did you think the doctors won’t tell me if her condition has gotten better?

I saw you with my own eyes and you are still denying it. If anything happens to Ava, you will regret ever knowing me in your miserable life.” Saying that, he strolled away angrily, not even taking another glance at her.

“Ted, at least hear my side of the story please.” Trying to run after him, she fell again for the second time due to her weak body. Her knees were in so much pain due to the fall, but she couldn’t care less about it as she tried getting up to continue chasing after him.

After an hour, Ava was pushed out of the emergency room. Her forehead has been treated and also covered with gauze.

“Teddy, I’m fine honestly, and Jane didn’t push me, I fell down the stairs myself.” Ava, who was accompanied by Teddy as they wheeled her to her ward, said to him weakly.

“It’s okay Ava, there is no need to defend that heartless woman. And by the way, I saw when she pushed you down the stairs myself. Enough is enough, I’m going to teach her a very good lesson this time.”

Taking out his phone from his inner suit jacket, he called his personal assistant, who picked up immediately.

“Get through my lawyer immediately. Tell him it’s time for him to draft out the divorce agreement I told him about.” Without waiting for the other party to reply, he cut off the call.

Ava was overjoyed hearing this. Had she known, she would have pulled off this taunt earlier.

“Ted, this isn’t right, you wouldn’t just divorce her just because of this small mistake, you should calm down Ted.” She whispered with a sad look on her face as if she genuinely cared about Jane.

“Why should I continue keeping up with her? By the way, I thought you don’t like her, why are you defending her?” He said as he stared at Ava meaningfully. After a while, he stood up as he gave her a small smile. He didn’t even think about why Ava that was sick would be outside of her ward in the first place.

Not long after he left the ward, Jane walked in still looking weak with the small steps she took towards Ava, who was lying down on the bed. As she saw Jane, she couldn’t help giving her a smug look as she smiled beautifully.

“Now that you have set me up, are you happy now?”. Jane said as she gritted her teeth in anger.

“Miss, please who are you? I don’t even know you talk less of setting you up, please just get out of here. I don’t know what you are talking about.”

“Ha! Ha! Ha! Now you know how to pretend right? It’s better you tell Ted yourself that I didn’t push you down the stairs, or else you will regret it.”

“And what can you do to me? Even if you tell Teddy, do you think he will believe you? He would think you are framing me up just because you are guilty. If you want to tell him, go ahead.” Ava mockingly said.

Jane knew what Ava said was true because, just now she told Teddy about Ava’s sickness being cured, he didn’t believe her. “Since you won’t confess yourself, I will make sure to get solid evidence to clear my name.”

“And who gives you the right to enter here and bully her?” Hearing that familiar angry voice, Jane couldn’t help getting angrier.
