The phone rang, piercing the serene atmosphere. Leonard sighed, reluctantly releasing Jane from his embrace.

“I'll get it,” he said, walking to the nightstand, and picking up his phone.

Jane watched as he answered, his expression changing from relaxed to formal. She walked back to the bed, and lay down, covering herself with the blanket, as she stared at her man's gracious figure in his pajamas.

“Mother,” he said, his tone respectful, watching as Jane lay down on the bed.

Jane's curiosity piqued. Seeing her curiosity, he walked to the bed, climbed in, and drew her into his embrace, making her rest her head on his chest.

“Hello, dear,” Leonard's mother's voice chimed through the phone. “I hope I'm not interrupting anything.”

“No, Mother. What's up?” Leonard replied, caressing Jane’s silky brown hair.

“I was thinking, Jane should meet with the wedding planner tomorrow. We need to finalize the wedding details,” she said.

Jane's heart skipped a beat. The wedding.

She hadn't expected to encounter her here. “Jane, you are finally here.” Lisa hugged Jane affectionately. “I miss you.” Jane hugged her back. “I miss you too dear.” They giggled as they released each other. Ivy's face burned with their intimacy. She had known Lisa since they were kids. She knew Lisa didn’t like associating with too many people. She promised herself to destroy this relationship. “Aunt, you are here.” She greeted Catherine. “Don’t be angry I came uninvited, I was bored at home, and when Lisa told me she wanted to go shopping with you, I decided to come with her, to kill boredom.” She hugged Catherine's arm, acting coquettish. “No Ivy, why would I be angry? You are also like a daughter to me. I watch you grow. I would love having you shop w

The room fell silent. All eyes turned to Ivy. Catherine's face darkened. “Ivy, is this true?” Though Catherine knew Ivy didn’t like Jane due to her connection with Leonard, the man she loved, she didn’t expect her to stoop this low, just to make them hate Jane. Ivy's face reddened, her eyes flashing with defiance. “Of course not, Aunty! This is ridiculous. The salesperson must be mistaken,” Ivy spat, her voice dripping with venom. The salesperson was shocked at Ivy's shamelessness. “But you told me… “Shut up.” Ivy glared at her, making the small girl shaken. “And even if it were true, which it's not, you'd still defend Jane, wouldn't you? You're blind to her manipulations,” Ivy snarled at Catherine, her gaze shifting to Jane. “You think you've won, but this isn't over. You'll pay for stealing Leonard from me.” “Ivy!” Lisa angrily shouted her name. “Just shut up already. Aren’t you ashamed of yourself? My brother has made it clear several times that he doesn’t and would nev

“That’s all for today's schedule sir.” Rachel looked up from the tab in her hand and handed some documents to Leonard. Leonard took the documents from Rachel, scanning them briefly before nodding. “Thank you, Rachel. You've been invaluable today.” Rachel smiled, gathering her belongings. “It's my pleasure, sir. Shall I schedule the meeting with the Lockwood representatives for tomorrow?” Leonard nodded. “Yes, please do. And make sure to include Desmond in the meeting. I want his input on the merger.” Rachel's eyes flickered with curiosity, but she remained professional. “Consider it done, sir.” As Rachel exited the office, Leonard's gaze drifted to the photo on his desk. Jane, with her bright smile and sparkling eyes, was his rock. He couldn't wait to see her after work. Just then, his phone buzzed. Eric's name flashed on the screen. “Hey, Len! I've got some intel on Ivy and Gavin, your cousin. Eric said, his voice low and serious. Leonard rests his back on his executi

Leonard's arms enveloped Jane, holding her close as he inhaled the sweet scent of her skin, now freshly cleansed from her bath. The stress of the day melted away, replaced by a sense of calm and comfort. “Are you okay?” Leonard's voice was laced with concern. Jane was surprised by the urgency in his voice. After understanding he might have been filled in on what happened today, she felt touched by his care and concern for her. Jane's surprise turned to warmth as she wrapped her arms around him. She chuckled as she said, “I’m in front of you breathing fine, of course, I’m okay. Leonard's beating heart calmed down seeing she could still joke after everything. “At least she is fine.” He reassured himself. Leonard's grip tightened, his face buried in her hair. Her fragrance, a subtle blend of vanilla and sweetness, soothed his frazzled nerves. As Leonard held her close, Jane felt his tension ease, his chest rising and falling with deeper breaths. His relief was palpable, and she

We don't have to rush. Whether we do it now or later, that doesn’t change you are mine.” He chuckled, making Jane who was feeling guilty relax a bit. He gently pulled the towel back over her body, covering her. Jane's hands remained wrapped around his neck, securing his gaze from roaming about her body as her fingers traced the curve of his jaw. “I'm sorry,” she whispered. Leonard's smile was soft. “No apologies needed, Jane. We'll take it slow.” He leaned in, his lips brushing against her forehead in a gentle kiss. “We'll take the step whenever you are ready,” he whispered. Jane's tension eased, replaced by gratitude. She felt safe with Leonard and trusted him. “Thank you,” she whispered. Leonard's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. “For what?” “For unde

“Dad, it’s not what you think.” Catherine left her husband's embrace, staring at her father-in-law warily. “Ivy framed Jane for stealing a diamond necklace at the mall yesterday,” Catherine explained. Sir Edward's gaze flickered, but he still appeared unconvinced. “And you believe Ivy who I single-handedly raised since childhood would do such a thing?” His tone dripped with disapproval, not believing Ivy was such a person. Reginald, who was observing their word exchange, stepped forward. “Father, we can discuss this later. Let’s not jump to conclusions based on someone's statement.” Taking hold of his father’s hand, Reginald helps him to the sofa in the lounge. “Come on Dad, let’s sit and talk about this.” Sir Edward snorted, pushing Reginald's hand from his grip. “I can walk by myself.” He angrily said as he used his walking stick as support, before walking away. Catherine sighed before following Sir Edward to the lounge room, together with her husband. “Won’t you explain yo

Go take a shower and prepare for work.” Leonard's grumpy voice sounded. “I’m the boss, I can go to work anytime I like.” Jane nodded, making Leonard's eyes shine in happiness thinking she agreed with him. The next thing Leonard heard was “You being the boss doesn’t mean to have a bad attitude to work. If the boss is late, the employees will follow suit. You need to set a good example, Leonard,” Jane said, her voice firm but playful. Leonard's grin faltered, surprised by Jane's unexpected lecture. “You're scolding me?” Jane's eyes sparkled with amusement. “Someone has to keep you in check, big boss.” Leonard chuckled, pulling Jane into a gentle hug. “You're the only one who can get away with this, you know that?” Jane smiled, her voice softening. “That's be

Singapore. Bank Group Headquarters. 10:00 P.M. At the top floor of one of the tallest skyscrapers in the Marina Bay district in Singapore, Leonard, who was sitting poised behind the expansive mahogany desk in his office, was a picture of refined elegance. His broad back was a testimony to his rigorous workout routine. His slender fingers danced across the keyboard of his sleek, shiny black laptop, the words flowing onto the screen with lightning speed. As he typed, the soft glow of the desk lamp cast a warm, golden light upon his chiseled features, illuminating the sharp planes of his face and the intense focus in his eyes. The city skyline outside, a dazzling tapestry of twinkling lights and towering skyscrapers, seemed to hum with energy, a subtle counterpoint to the quiet intensity of Leonard's work. Finally, with a soft click, Leonard shut down the laptop, his fingers stilled on the keyboard. He leaned back in the plush, black leather armchair, his eyes closing in a mom

Jason's grip on the phone tightened as he anticipated whatever the Banks wanted to say. He just hoped they hadn’t found anything about his daughter’s previous marriage.“Hi Jason, how have you been?” Reginald's cheerful voice echoed in the silent living room from the phone. Jane shifted her butts on the sofa impatiently.“I’ve been good Reginald, thanks for asking.” Jason tried sounding as calm as possible. Reginald's cheerful voice continued, “Great, great! I was calling to discuss the rehearsal dinner for tomorrow. We've finalized the details, and we are using the ‘fruitful palace’ restaurant. I will send the details to you later.”Jason's tense shoulders relaxed slightly as he realized the call wasn't about Jane's previous marriage. He glanced over at Jane, who was watching him with bated breath. He gave her a subtle nod, and her face relaxed, relief written all over it as she sagged back on the sofa. After speaking with Reginald for some minutes, the call comes to an end.Jane’s

His daughter, who ran away from home just because of this marriage, was in front of him declaring her love for the same man she escaped. This is unbelievable.Jason shook his head, still trying to process what Jane just said. “Jane, I don’t know what you are playing at right now, but let me tell you, I won’t let you try anything stupid this time around,” Jason said, his voice firm. “You always hated the idea of getting married to Leonard and now? Jason took a step closer to Jane, his footsteps heavy, “what changed Jane, what changed.”The aura emitting from Jason was so strong that Jane took a shaky step back, trying to be as far away from her father as possible. “Dad,” Jane's shaky voice tumbled out. As she entered the study, she saw her father standing by the window, his back facing her. The room was dimly lit, with only a few rays of sunlight peeking through the blinds. The air was thick with the scent of papers and ink, a familiar smell that always brought her back to her childhood memories of playing with her father in this very room. This was the first time she was entering his study after her disappearance. Everything was just as she left it.The study was cozy, revealing its masculine space, with dark furniture and grey interiors, burgundy carpets that muffled her footsteps. The walls were lined with floor-to-ceiling booksh

Leonard picked up the phone, his brow furrowed at the caller ID. Rachel, his assistant, wouldn't have called him by this time if it wasn't important. Leonard taps on the green answer icon on his phone before placing the phone on his right ear. “Yes, Rachel, is anything the problem?”Jane felt uneasy at the mention of that feminine name. She didn’t know anything about who worked for Leonard, so she didn’t know Rachel was his assistant. She tried covering her unease by playing with the button on Leonard’s white shirt. As Leonard listened to whatever Rachel was saying, his brow furrowed even more. “What do you mean the Heart project has been compromised?” Leonard's voice rose, his words sharp with anxiety. “How did this happen? The team that was handling this project, didn’t they see this coming?” Leonard roared into the phone as his hand which was caressing Jane's hair froze midair. Jane felt a shiver run down her spine. She hadn’t seen Leonard being angry before. It’s like he was dis
