Artemis P.O.V.

I woke up to an irritating beeping noise. I growled at the noise before slowly opening my eyes. I heard a soft chuckle as my eyes took in the room. I made a confused faced as my gaze fell upon Alpha Armand.

“What?”

I asked softly as his eyes locked on mine.

“You just growled at the heart monitor…unless you were growling at me?”

He asked with a smile. I looked over at the machine making the beeping noise and scowled at it. I heard him chuckle again and my heart did a flip. I sat in silence for a few moments before I answered him.

“I was growling at the beeping because it annoyed me.”

I watched as he laughed causing his shoulders to shake slightly. I let my lips tilt into a slight smile. Something in me loved seeing him laughing.

“Can I leave yet?”

I asked once he finished laughing. He frowned

“Why do you want to leave so bad, Love?”

He asked while he furrowed his eyebrows. I stared at him with a blank face before I gave a soft answer

“He knows where I am now..”

Alpha Armand looked at me with a mix of sadness and anger in his eyes.

“He won’t hurt you ever again..”

He said firmly. I arched an eyebrow

“How do you know who he is?”

I asked in confusion.

“Uh..um…well…”

He stuttered as his ears turned slightly pink at the tips. I gave him another confused look waiting for his reply. His eyes met mine once more as he gave me my answer

“Your wolf told me..everything..”

~*”Arya!!!! Why did you do that??”*~

I hollered at her in my mind. I stared silently at Alpha Armand while I waited for her to respond. A few moments later I could hear her reply.

~”Ay, Chica, calm down….He is mate..There are no secrets with mates..We are safe here..”~

She said deadpan. I inwardly scowled at her.

“How did you tell him when I was asleep?”

I asked out loud. My eyes went wide as I realized I was talking out loud. Alpha Armand smiled as he replied in Arya’s place.

“It’s something mates can do regardless of if they are in the same pack or not.”

I made a confused face once more

“How?”

I asked tilting my head slightly to the right. He frowned a little

“It is how they can connect before mating and marking each other.”

He looked at my still confused face searching for something, but I didn’t know what.

“What is mating and marking?”

I asked after a few moments of silence. He let out a sigh and leaned back in his chair. Instinctively I flinched away waiting for a slap that never came. His face was fully red along with his ears.

“Well…um…mating is…when two mates have sex to make pups or just because…and marking is biting each other to let others know you are taken.”

He said after a few moments passed. I looked at the bed in silence as I thought back to everything Alpha had done to me.

“I didn’t want that though…”

I said while still staring at the bed. I heard as Alpha Armand leaned towards me

“Didn’t want what, Love?”

He asked before taking my hand into his.

“I didn’t want what he did to me…does that still count as mating?”

I asked looking back up at him. He gulped as our eyes locked again. His eyes held a deep sadness in them that I just wanted to wipe away. His voice was soft when he responded

“No. That was not mating my love. That was rape.”

I blinked and furrowed my eyebrows together

“What’s the difference?”

I asked softly. He squeezed my hand

“Mating is consensual and something you want. Rape is forced sex..that one party involved did not ask for.”

He said while still squeezing my hand.

“Oh..”

I said softly.

A few moments later Doc walked in and I looked at him.

“Good afternoon Luna, it is good to see you awake.”

He said with a cheery smile as he took the empty seat near a screen.

“H…Hi..”

I said as I stared at him.

“How are you feeling dear?”

He asked as he turned to face me fully.

“Um…hungry…and I want to leave..”

I said honestly. He gave a slight chuckle before he responded

“You can have lunch in just a few moments, but you can’t leave just yet.”

I scowled when he said I couldn’t leave.

“I apologize Luna, but you were injured pretty bad, so I need you here to make sure you heal properly since you haven’t shifted yet.”

He said just before the door opened and a woman pushed in a metal cart with a plate of food on top. I stared at the woman and the cart filled with suspicion. Doc and Alpha Armand watched me as I moved away from the food.

“It’s safe to eat, Love.”

Alpha Armand said as he picked up the plate of food. I watched him closely with a glare towards the food.

“I…I don’t trust that..”

I said as I moved further back into the bed under me when he brought it closer. He let out a sigh

“Want me to prove it to you?”

He asked when I looked at him. I nodded and watched as he picked up one half of the sandwich from the plate and took a bite. I waited for a few moments then leaned forward a little when nothing bad happened.

“They don’t put poison in the food here?”

I asked with wide eyes when more minutes passed and nothing happened to him. He made a horrified expression at my question.

“Of course not, Love…did that happen to you?”

He asked as I leaned a little closer towards the food. I looked at Doc and the woman who was turning to leave the room.

“Yeah….I was always so sick after eating…”

I said before slowly reaching and taking the other half of the sandwich off the plate. Alpha Armand was frowning and so was Doc.

“Artemis?”

Alpha Armand asked causing me to look at him curiously before I took a bite of my sandwich. Mmmm, Ham and Cheese. I was so distracted by the food that I didn’t hear the question that came next. I closed my eyes as I was enjoying the food in my mouth.

“Artemis, Love?”

I heard and popped my eyes open wide. I felt my cheeks warm so I  knew they would be red.

“This is the best sandwich I have ever had..”

I said softly. Alpha Armand let out a chuckle

“And these aren’t the best there is..”

My eyes bulged as he said that.

“You mean there is better than this?”

I asked in disbelief. He smiled and nodded

“Yes, Love, there is far better than this. I will show you once you are out of here.”

He said. I smiled letting hope of better things enter my mind.

“We have some questions. Are you up to answer a few?”

He asked me softly. I thought about it before nodding and taking another bite of my sandwich. Doc spoke up then

“Thank you for answering our questions Luna.”

He said and I looked at him.

“Why do you keep calling me Luna?”

I asked him. Doc smiled when he answered

“That is what the Alpha’s mate is. The Luna. You are pretty much the mother of the pack.”

I frowned

“But that means everyone will die…”

I said softly before looking at the sandwich in my hand

“…Everything I was mother to died..”

Doc frowned before asking me a question

“So you know what happened then?”

I looked up at him and nodded.

“Yes,. I lost them all..”

I said softly with a frown. Doc looked at me with a look of sympathy.

“That was not your fault. Sometimes things like that happen.”

He said. I took a bite of my sandwich and swallowed it before I replied

“I think it was his fault…he must have weak sperm since he is a weak guy.”

Doc gave a shocked face at my reply and Alpha Armand snickered. Arya laughed in my mind. I gave a confused face

“What? He had to be weak if he had to chain up one little girl just to have his way..”

I said then took another bite of the sandwich.

“You were chained?”

Doc asked as both males looked at me. I shrugged when I responded

“Yes..for as long as I can remember.”

They both looked shocked when Doc asked his next question

“Did anyone know about you?”

I nodded

“Yeah. Beta Craig did…He was nicer to me than Alpha was..”

I said honestly. Then looked at the bed

“He did things to me when Alpha wasn’t around though..”

I said with a frown. Alpha Armand let out a low growl causing me to flinch away slightly.

“Sorry Love.. I didn’t mean to frighten you.”

He said softly realizing I had flinched away. I let out a breath before continuing to talk

“He wasn’t the only one. The guards had their ways as well. I tried to fight back before Arya showed up in my thoughts…That was a

mistake. They would starve and beat me..”

I said before eating the last bite of sandwich. Alpha Armand handed me the other half and I looked at him confused.

“Eat, my love, you need it more than I do.”

He said causing me to smile.

“Th…Thank you..”

I said as I wrapped my hand around the sandwich gently.

“Didn’t anyone try to help you?”

Doc asked after I had a small bite of the sandwich eaten.

I looked at him and shook my head no. Both men frowned and let moments of silence pass as I ate.

“How did you get out?”

Alpha Armand asked me when I had finished. I smiled as I remembered killing that guard my eyes taking on a glint of happiness.

“Alpha got dumb and left his precious silver blade on the floor when he was called away. I waited until he had been gone for a long while and then slipped out of the cuffs and broke the ankle ones. That hurt so much because of the silver and wolfsbane that coated them. Then I waited for the guard to bring me my food and slit his throat from behind.”

I gave a wider smile as I continued to tell them what happened

“He was so surprised. I shouted surprise when he turned around then I shoved the blade into his heart before I left with a shrug. Then I ran until I couldn’t run anymore.”

I said with a triumphant smile still on my face.

“It was kind of fun…”

I said causing both males to look at me confused. I shrugged

“Hey…his surprised face was hilarious.”

I said before my face went serious.

“It was nothing compared to what I plan to do to Alpha…”

I said deadpan. Doc and Alpha Armand both waited for me to say more, but I sat there silently.

“What do you plan to do Love?”

Alpha Armand asked after a few moments of silence. I looked at him then replied

“Oh not much..”

I said, but didn’t finish the sentence.

Alpha Armand and Doc tried to persuade me to tell them, but I refused and they gave up after a few moments. They both asked questions and by time they were done the woman from before came back in and took the empty plate away. I frowned as she left

“Can I have more?”

I asked as I watched her walk away. Doc let out a chuckle

“Good to see you have an appetite. I’ll see what I can do.”

He said as he stood up.

“For now, I am going to let you rest. Thank you for answering my questions.”

He said as he headed towards the door. He paused and turned to face me

“I know you may not have asked for it, but would you like to see your pup today?”

He asked. I looked at him confused

“What pup?”

He smiled sadly

“Ah..you must not have known…you’re pregnant..”

He said softly. I looked at him in silence before I looked down at my legs.

“Ah great….another one…”

I shook my head and frowned deeply.

“You have options Luna.”

Doc said and I let out a growl.

“No…No I do not…”

I said letting anger seep into my voice. Alpha Armand took my hand in his once more causing me to look up at him.

“We don’t mean killing it, Love..”

He started, but I interrupted

“No..I don’t have any choice…I refuse to kill someone innocent just because they were made by a monster…and I wouldn’t give away a child just because of who their father is…that would hurt the child…I know what it’s like to feel unwanted..”

I said as my eyes met his. He smiled

“Spoken like a true Luna..”

He said letting the pride show on his face and in his eyes. Doc smiled at me then turned and left the room. I let out a small yawn. Alpha Armand smiled

“Get some more rest, Love, I will wake you when more food is brought.”

He said before placing a gentle kiss to my forehead. I nodded and yawned again before laying back in the bed.

“Will you stay here while I sleep?”

I asked softly after my head hit the pillow. He smiled and replied

“I’m not going anywhere my love.”

I smiled and closed my eyes drifting off into instant sleep.
