Armand's P.O.V.

I watched as Doc poked the needle into Artemis’s arm and injected the sleeping medicine.

“I’m sorry my love. You need to rest. I promise you are safe.”

I said just before her eyes closed. I laid her back down on the bed and sat back down. Jax shut the door as Doc took his place in the other chair again.

“I apologize Alpha. I know we need answers, but that panic attack was not good for her or the pup.”

Doc said as he ran a hand through his hair. I gave him a sad smile

“I understand Doc. I just wonder who it was that traumatized her.”

I said as Jax walked over and stood at the end of the bed. Doc frowned

“It could possibly be someone that looks like Jax since she was staring his way.”

Jax turned his head towards Doc with wide eyes

“I would never!”

Doc let out a snicker

“I did not say you did Jax. I said it was possible that the person looked like you.”

-“H…hello?”-

I heard a soft feminine voice in my mind. Tafari let out a pleased howl in my mind right after the voice was heard.

~”It’s mate…She wants to talk to us both”~

He said with a wag of his tail in my mind. I smiled and replied

-“Hello there”.-

There was silence for a few moments before I heard her reply.

~”It’s nice to meet you both. I am Arya. I am Artemis’s wolf.”~

She said with a soft voice and I could almost visualize her in my mind.

“It’s nice to meet you Arya. I am Armand and my wolf is Tafari.”

I said letting my joy seep into my voice.

~”Mate, Arya. My love. It’s a pleasure”~

Tafari said before letting out a happy yip. I heard a giggle come from Arya before she spoke again.

~”Tafari and Armand. I want to tell you who hurt Artemis. She has gone through so much. She is a beautiful human inside and out. I am only sorry I wasn’t there for her sooner. She has been tortured her whole life. There is only one year she can’t account for which is the very first year of her life. I think she was kidnapped when she was one years old. She is almost 17 now. I only came to her when she turned 12. That is when things began to get way worse.”~

There was a pause from Arya before she growled lowly.

“You don’t have to tell me Arya. I love you both either way.”

I told her before she let out a sigh.

~”I appreciate that Armand, but you need to know. This isn’t going to be easy on either of you. She knows things because I helped her, but there are things she doesn’t know. She never had clothes. He kept her locked in that cell her whole life. He only fed her to keep her alive. They had still injected her with wolfsbane and silver every day and neglected her. There are so many unspeakable things that they did. I can not even put into words what was done. Her life was a hard one far before she got me.”~

She let out another sigh. Tears formed at my eyes and Tafari let out a small whimper.

“Alpha, are you alright?”

I heard Jax ask with concern in his voice. I looked up at him and then back at my mate.

“Her wolf..She’s talking to Tafari and I now…she is telling me what has happened..”

I said as more tears slipped out of my eyes. I tuned the room out again as Arya continued talking in my mind.

~”I know this is hard to hear, but this is the life she has lived. That sick pig did worse things to her. After that pup died he whipped her with pure silver chains and put a pure silver muzzle on her. She was only given stale bread and water for almost a month. He still came and took advantage of her every night. He told her that her family abandoned her and didn’t love her. He took everything he could from her. I kept her from getting pregnant until she turned 16. That poor pup suffered as well. The guards poured pure liquid silver down her throat mixed with wolfsbane and then raped her. She didn’t even know she was pregnant. She was out for a week. When she woke up she was covered in blood, bruises, cuts, and in terrible pain from the miscarriage she was forced to endure. That one almost took her life. He cut her with a dagger down her back because of that. He never blamed his men. They were at fault. I wanted to rip them in pieces, but she has never shifted. We couldn’t. She was always left bleeding, chained, and injured. She only escaped because she was thin enough in the wrist area to slip out of the cuffs. That jerk leaving for a day is what ensured she got away. She killed the guard that came to feed her that day and ran. We were in some human town in a another state when she got the clothes she had on when she was brought in. Poor girl didn’t know that being naked was frowned upon. She scared a human woman so bad. The woman had pity and gave her the clothes. That jerk is here though.” ~

I blinked in surprise and looked up.

“Who is it?”

I asked

her and Tafari let out a low growl that escaped my lips startling both Jax and Doc.

~”I don’t know his name. She was only allowed to call him Alpha. I think it starts with a N?”~

She said and I shot up. I glared at the door. I let out a louder growl than before as I made my way to the door.

“Alpha?”

I heard Jax ask as he followed me. I ignored him and ripped the door open. My eyes scanned the area for Alpha Nate and his Beta Craig. They were nowhere to be seen. I let out another growl causing Alpha Wyatt and Luna Claris to look at me confused.

-“ANYONE THAT SEES ALPHA NATE AND HIS BETA….CATCH THEM AND DRAG THEM TO THE CELLS!!”-

I roared into the mind-link before walking back into my mate’s room and sitting back in the seat next to her bad.

“I’m gonna murder him..”

I growled out as my voice mixed with Tafari’s. I was fighting to not shift right here. He was here and he had hurt my mate. I wanted to rip his head off. I heard a soft voice in my head and took a deep breath.

~”My love. Artemis needs you. Her panic attack was from seeing him. You have to calm down. Please. You will scare her if you lose your temper now.”~

I took another breath and bent down to put my head on Artemis’s arm on this side of the bed. I took a deep breath to inhale her scent to calm myself.

“Alpha?”

Jax asked as he took a tentative step forward. I huffed and kept my head on my mates arm

“what?”

I asked after a few moments of silence had passed.

“Was it Alpha Nate that hurt our Luna?”

Jax asked causing me to look at him with a grim expression. I took a moment to answer

“I think so..Arya said Artemis panicked because she saw him. He was the only Alpha here other than Alpha Wyatt.”

I said blatantly. Jax frowned and shook his head.

“And we missed him..”

He finally said with frustration. I arched an eyebrow

“He left the territory. I just got confirmation from border patrol.”

He said still frustrated.

“Make sure all border patrol and warriors know that he and his Beta are not allowed on our territory again. If they attempt to enter…kill them on sight..”

I said and he nodded before leaving to speak with everyone. Doc looked at me and smiled

“I have some good news Alpha.”

I looked at Doc

“What is it?”

I asked curiously. He stood and asked Alpha Wyatt, Luna Claris, and their son Titan to come in the room. My curiosity peaked when they entered the room looking confused.

“What’s going on Doc?”

I asked as Doc stood to the side and pulled up a screen. He looked at the computer than at all of us with a wide smile.

“I got the DNA and Paternity tests back for our Luna!”

Doc announced causing me to sit forward in my chair some.

“Congratulations Alpha Wyatt and Luna Claris, it’s a girl”

He joked and their eyes went wide. I looked down at Artemis and smiled then back up at Alpha Wyatt.

“Wait…this is…this is our little girl?”

He asked while staring at Doc. Doc nodded and showed us that they were a perfect match to Artemis. Luna Claris let out a happy sob

“We finally found our little girl…and she’s alive..”

She said as she stepped closer to the bed. Alpha Wyatt stared at Artemis and took in her features. She really did look so similar to Luna Claris, but with Alpha Wyatt’s hair color and nose. Titan smiled as he stepped closer to the bed

“So this is my long lost big sis?”

He asked with a wide smile. I watched as a few tears left Alpha Wyatt’s eyes.

“I never thought I would see my firstborn again..”

He said as he took the empty chair Doc offered. I smiled and took Artemis’s hand in mine.

“So I guess I can call you father-in-law then”

I said as I looked at Alpha Wyatt. He looked at me and let out a chuckle

“Just Dad will be fine, but you hurt my little girl and I will wage war young man.”

He said with a smile. I chuckled

“Sir, I would die before I intentionally hurt her.”

I said honestly. We sat talking about how to break the news to her and other things for some time. It was dark when they left to get some rest. I laid my head down on Artemis’s bed and fell asleep.
