Could Tally say she was mistaken?

She obviously couldn't because once words were uttered, they could never be taken back.

If she tried to take back what she said, she'd essentially be refuting everything in front of Markus. That would just land her in more trouble.

After some thinking, Tally nodded. "I swear, everything I just said is true."

"So you're saying Kathryn lied, am I right?"

"What did he mean by 'Am I right'?" Tally wondered, feeling like she was going mad.

Markus' gaze was so sharp. She felt that responding with either a yes or a no could both be the wrong choice!

Finally, she gritted her teeth and said, "I don't know what she said, but what I said is all true."
