As Mia spoke, she leaned her body against Chris.

Kathryn found it sickening. She swallowed everything she wanted to say. Then, she stomped to the elevator.

She was so mad that her pace was out of control. But the moment she took a step, she broke one of the blisters on her foot. She hissed in pain.

She was in so much pain and misery that she cried.

Meanwhile, Chris' face fell when he saw her like this. He wondered if Kathryn was throwing a tantrum.

But just a moment later, Kathryn endured the pain and started walking to the elevator again. This time, she was clearly limping. The wound obviously hurt her a lot.
