Chapter5

I DIDN'T realize I was so good at glaring at someone until I met Roam. When he caught my ass after I did the whole James Bond thing, he brought me back inside the house and settled me in the kitchen. Now what? Was he going to poison me?

My eyes looked at him and I swore if my pupil--iris? Damn anatomy! Anyway, if it were lazerbeams, he would be dead by now but the bastard didn't seem to care. He even smirked as if I was the biggest joke he'd stumbled on. "What were you even thinking? You're in the middle of nowhere. If you managed to get out of here, you ain't gonna last 'til dawn in the woods."

I glared at him. "I'm a girlscout, mister."

He trapped a laugh by pursing his lips. "Yeah, right. As if assembling tents and singing camp songs are not the only things you did."

An exaggerated gasp escaped my mouth. "How dare you? We did more than that you... you..."

He raised both of his brows and folded his toned arms in front of his godforsaken chiseled chest as if waiting for me to speak my mind. Seriously, did heaven play favorites? How come this guy seemed to have all the good stuff?

"Hmm? You're saying something? I'm a what?"

My eyes squinted. "You're a..." I pursed my lips and curled my fists into a ball before I breathed in deeply. "Why are you holding me a prisoner? Don't you know it's rude to keep someone against their will?"

I saw his expression darkened. My heartbeat raised in fear when his jaw moved as if I hit the wrong nerve. What now? Was he going to drag me upstairs and chain me? Would I rot here and never see my Dad again? Because I swore I'd seen that look on a killer in a movie that traumatized me as a kid.

The thought of not coming home anymore scared me more. Imagine getting into a fight with the last person you wanted to hate and then be denied of the chance to see them again. I would never forgive myself if Dad would blame himself the way he took all the blame for what happened to mom.

My chest hurt and my emotions crossed my face. I wasn't sure if that fear reached my eyes for Roam to see but when he looked at me, his expression soften and he immediately turned away.

The microwave made its irritating beep sound but somehow, I was thankful it did or everything would remain awkward. Roam immediately grabbed the food and placed it on a plate before he headed towards my side. "Eat," he told me.

I looked up and narrowed my eyes even more but he just cocked his inky brow at me. "I said eat."

My teeth gritted. "And what's next? Sit? Roll over? Play dead?"

He sighed and rubbed his palm on his face. "I don't remember serving you dog food," he said then sat on the edge of the glass table. "Where the hell did you learn that sarcasm?"

I honestly didn't know. It just came out naturally as if Tilly possessed my body. Was I starting to grow the same feathers like Tilly's? God, I hope not.

"I'm not hungry."

He scoffed. "Yes, you are."

Looking at the piece of smoked chicken in front of me, my mouth watered and my stomach growled as if it had been years since I last tasted food. When Roam let out a soft chuckle, I gave him another deadly glare.

"Told you." He patted my head and walked out of the kitchen with his hands burried on his pockets. Thank goodness he was already wearing something to cover those perfectly toned muscles.

My stomach made another loud growl. Feeling defeated by hunger, I sighed and grabbed the fork and knife. On a second thought, I would need to have enough strength if I want to escape. I wouldn't stand a chance if my legs were jellies because of hunger.

After I finished my food, I stood up and was about to bring my plate to the sink but Roam stormed. He grabbed it from me and washed it himself. I was left in my spot, surprised with his chivalry. Was he for real? Last time I checked, he was holding me captive. What was he even doing? Did he abduct me so he could play nanny?

When he was done, he dried his hands and walked back towards me. He's so tall that I barely reached his shoulders so when he stopped a foot away from me, I almost broke my neck for looking up to see his face.

He stared at me with his serious eyes, but when he lifted his hand and wiped the side of my lips with his thumb, I shuddered with the sudden outburst of electrifying sensation all over my body. My knees went rubbery and my heart turned so wild I thought it would break my ribs.

"Did your undies fit?" he asked out of nowhere.

My face instantly felt hot and the butterflies in my belly died as embarassment took over me. "How dare you ask that!" I shouted, surprised that I did. Well it was his fault. That wasn't a proper question to ask a lady?

The corners of his thin, tender looking lips threatened to twist for a smirk. "What's wrong with that?"

I took a step back and shot him with a narrow gaze. "You're not supposed to ask that? I'm a girl and... and you shouldn't have bought my underwears in the first place!"

Oh, God I could imagine him at the department store, lifting the underwears, flipping it side to side to check if it's the right size. Dear, God. I changed my mind. Take me now!

His brows furrowed. "Why? Would you rather walk around wearing nothing underneath?" This time his lips curved to form that ridiculous smirk he was preventing earlier. "I won't mind anyway."

My eyes widened in pure embarrassment and shock. "You perv!" My breathing went deep and heavy as my fists tightened. "First, you snatched me, and now you're..." I groaned an irritated groan. "Are you even human?!"

He swallowed and looked up, trying his best not to burst into laugh. He took a couple of deep breaths before he met my furious eyes again. "I didn't snatch you. I saved you."

"It's the same thing! You're still holding me captive here."

"Just to keep you safe." He placed his hands on his waist. "It's for your own good."

I gritted my teeth. "I don't believe you."

He sighed while shaking his head. I swore I just blinked and the next moment, he was already in front of me, too close that I almost held my breath in shock. His eyes were a shade darker now and his clenching jaw told me he was pissed.

I gulped when he slid his hand between my arm and waist until it settled on my back. A gasp escaped my lips and my breath was trapped in my throat when he held my hand to place it on his chest.

"W--What are you doing?" I asked, almost a whisper.

His eyes challenged me yet I could not see any hint of danger in it as he stared right into my soul. "Feel it. Tell me if I'm lying."

Despite being confused, I couldn't find the courage to tear away from his gaze, as if he was hypnotizing me to focus on nothing but him. One this was for sure, though. This man in front of me held a certain power I had never felt on anyone before. It was as if he's got control over me, and truth be told, I knew I should be scared but I couldn't. No matter how loud I scream in my head to not be mesmerized by his hooded eyes, narrow nose, and sexy lips, I still found myself falling willingly into his trap.

Swallowing the lump forming in my throat, I tried to speak. "H--How am I supposed to..."

Before I could finish what I was saying, I felt a different kind of sensation ran through my nerves. Every fiber in my body felt warm, and my mind saw images of a man with a blurry face, telling me the same thing. Recognition hit me like a physical blow, and the nerve-wrecking sensation turned into pain I shouldn't be familiar with, but I was.

I blinked as my forehead creased. "H--Have we... met before?"

Roam's expression soften, but it changed back to furious instantly before he stared at something. His eyes suddenly turned gold, making me scream and pull away. My legs trembled as the sight of his eyes, but Roam just looked at me to give a warning.

"Stay here. Don't invite anyone in," he ordered before he stormed outside.

I fell on the floor, sitting on my legs. Tears trailed down my cheeks in fear while my heart was throbbing in a crazy manner. Even my hands were shaking as I raked my hair. What did I get myself into?

Chapter 7 Roam OVER THE PAST decades that I was waiting for my mate's return, there was never a moment in my life that I didn't think of her. Her soft lips that used to whisper sweet words in my ear to calm me down, her eyes that spoke more than she could ever utter, her hands that fitted perfectly with mine, and even the tiniest thing about her, it all haunted me even when I was awake. She was my nightmare and my sweetest dream, while my love was her calmest sea and the same ocean that drowned her... With a halfway empty bottle of whisky in my hand, I sat on the edge of the bed and watched her sleep. Her forehead wrinkled and she let out low groans as she dreamed of something, but no matter how much I was trying to convince myself that it's not possible for her to remember it all, I knew her bad dreams were about me. My hand held the side of her face as I looked at her with raw affection. I waited for so long and each pas

Chapter 10I COULDN'T help it. I just wanted to greet the morning sun when I went to the porch but after seeing Roam effortlessly cut the giant trunks of woods with his axe like he was Thor, I found myself staring at his sexy back like it was a once in a lifetime phenomena to have a sight of his majestic bod.His back muscles would flex with his every movement, yet with all the force I assumed was needed to cut such large pieces of woods, I wondered why he was not sweating as much as I was expecting? Not that I found it sexy when a man was doing manly stuff and their skin were sparkling because of their sweat. I was just... oh, right. I figured it out. Was it because he wasn't normal?"You nasty, nasty mind. Since when did you built allegiance with my stupid heart, hmm? Chapter 11ROAM made us dinner early. He tried to bring up something to talk about while we shared our meal but everytime it was my turn to tell him about my life back in my town, I would see him glancing at the clock as if it was a ticking bomb that would explode once the Sun was finally set."Sorry." He cleared his throat and drew his attention back to his pasta. "You were saying?"I heaved a silent sigh and reached for my glass of water. "I said many girls from my school dreams to be a werewolf's mate." I took a sip. "What exactly is that?"I saw the corner of his lips lifted for a sly smile. "It's uhm, like a soul connection. A unique one chosen by the Moon Goddess. Mates share a powerful bond. They get to feel each other's feelings, communicate thru their minds, and heal each other once the bond was established.""Huh. That's weird." I rested my chin on my fisted hand. "You mean to tell me that that's similar to lycan

Chapter 27I DIDN'T know my vocabulary was too small until I saw the majestic falls near the border of Zenios and Claivan pack. The inner borders were not entirely guarded by Deltas because Nirvana people follow their rules strictly. One of those was to never cross the border unless invited by the territory's leader. My eyes were widened like a kid who'd seen Disneyland for the first time. My lips were widely open as I stared at the beautiful masterpiece in front of us. No, I didn't really think there was a word that's already invented that could give justice to it.Not that I was being emotional but the sight of it almost made me tear up. It has freaking layers of basin-like white rocks where the bluish water flows from the top. Its sound alone was calming already. One of them even jumped on top of a table and did a "Magic Mic".Nimpha who, of course, was locked in her boyfriend's arms again, grabbed a mug sitting on the corner table as soon as we got inside. She threw it across the room, aiming for the Channing-wannabe.I gasped as I watched with a horrified face, but the guy caught it right before the poor mug hit the back of his neck. His expressive, sparkly perhaps, pair of honeycomb eyes similar to Lawrence, narrowed at Nimpha.
