Chapter 3

Adam couldn’t able to sleep either, he got up to go on derive and keep his mind at peace.

He was driving alone on the dark roads...trying to get rid of her thoughts...the girl had infuriated him to new level. He was losing his senses in his anger. He clutched the wheel of his gypsy and gritted his teeth thinking about his fiancé.

When all of sudden, some girl collide to his gyp, making him press the break.

She fell on the ground and goons stop at the distance. One man walked behind him, but seeing Prince Adam jumping out from the gyp, he took his steps back and all ran away in fear.

Georgina was about to faint when Adam grabbed her from her arms, “Who are you? And what...” His remaining words stays in his mouth only seeing her face, Georgina...?

She was relived seeing him before her eyes, he again saved her she thought and hugged him.

Adam was stunned for awhile, then realizing what’s happening, he pulled her apart rather harshly.

“What are you doing on this lonely road, at this late hour of night?” He asked bite rudely.

She was scared and fatigued after running for her life that couldn’t utter any word in her defence.

“Answer me damn it...” He shook her violently.

“Water...please, give me water.” She mumbled and he clam himself down. He turned to his gypsy and took out the spare bottle of water before handling her. She drank it in one go, she was so thirsty.

He looked around and dragged her in his gypsy before starting the engine. He was not in mood to tolerate her, because of her had been out in the night and here also she came as if chasing him.

Georgina felt better after having water and having him beside her made her feel safe. She smiled softly giving him admiring look; she knew her love is so strong which brought him here to save her.

Adam was driving the jeep silently while she kept looking at him with soft smile plastered on her lips... She recalls their earlier encounters. Adam looked at her and thought to tell her the truth today that she shouldn't expect anything from this relationship as it’s not a relationship but a deal.

His jeep was moving...but he couldn’t able to say anything and they reached her home. She got down and muttered soft thank to him looking at him, “I may take your leave now.”

Adam looked at her feeling her gaze upon him. She stops in nervousness, then turns to look at him. She was about to walk inside when he stopped her as he noticed her blouse torn. He took his coat from back seat and covered her bare shoulder with it before escorting her to her home.

Georgina smiles happily and walked inside with him beside her.

Carol family were so worried about their daughter when both Adam and Georgina stepped inside her house together.

Everyone was shocked to see them together; Mr. Carol asks Georgina, “Where you had gone in the middle of night, we were all so worried.”

It was Tina his brother’s daughter, who informed them about her being missing in the middle of the night. Tina stood at the corner having hidden smirk on her face.

Georgina was tense about what to tell her parents. Adam understood the tense atmosphere and her plight as he looked at her, then turned to her parents, “It’s my fault not hers as I wanted to meet her and gift my would be wife something. But when I meet her, I lost track of time while talking to her.”

Georgina looks at him in awe and thought, your lie is a truth as I too lost track of time when I was with you.” 

Mr. and Mrs. Carol were happy for their daughter. Mr. Carol thanks him and they called him inside but he was denial mood off course. He looked at Georgina suddenly only to notice her pleading him with her hazel eyes.

But he clearly ignores her pleading and excuses himself giving reason of late night.

Georgina looked at his retreating figure and thought; there won’t be any bad omen now as love itself is a good omen. She knew also that Adam is also very happy with this alliance so she doesn’t have to worry.

Grandma was worried for her grandson. She couldn’t sleep either and had got to know about his leaving at mid night. She was pacing the floor when saw him walking inside.

“Adam... what happened...where was you have been at this hour of night?”

“Why are you waking you at this hour, Grandma? You should take care of your health.” Adam scolds her instead.

“You tell me... where are you coming from?” “You are not either sleeping but roaming out at this hour of night.” She said cupping his face.

Adam sighed, “Grandma, I just went for the drive, not able to sleep tonight.”

“Son, I know you, so don’t try to hide anything from me,” she looked at him turning his back to her she continued, “listen son, I can still stop this marriage, if you just say me once. I’ll call it off right away.”

“I know it’s only for the deal but there is no feelings attached with this alliance.”

“You don't need feelings to make a relationship, Grandma...” Adam argued.

“Relationship without love is compromise; son & that girl at least not deserve that.” She tried to convince her grandson which she had not done before thinking about the girl. But today too she couldn’t stop worrying about both the children. The girl either wouldn’t be happy in this loveless marriage. She thought and today decided to confront him.

That girl is so shameless and selfish, when that doesn’t worry herself what is the need of thinking about her welfare. You don’t know her true colours grandma to speak like this for her. He thought ruefully and turned around facing his Grandma, “I have agreed to this alliance after thinking carefully and has already given my word so cannot deny this alliance now.” He remembered the promise he had given to his mother. He wouldn't back out now.

“This marriage will definitely take place!” He announces firmly.
