Max went into the room and saw that Dean was still under the desk. He smiled that way when he poked his head out from under the desk and he eased up a bit. Max walked slowly and then lowered himself to the floor and sat down in front of the smaller boy.

“Hello Dean.” Max said with ease that the boy looked at him with widened eyes. “I have to ask you a few more questions. If you don’t want to answer them that is fine as well. Just tell me.”

“Okay.” He said. Max noticed the way the boy spoke and knew that was the first thing he would need help with. He seemed bright enough that his mental capacities were there. Though Max couldn’t tell if it was being in the cellar or it was because of his parentage. It was going to be a long road with him Max already knew that. Though he knew Deanna wouldn’t really mi

As Max left the room with the boy holding his hand it made every other adult in the room stop and look at him. He knew they had thought the area was completely clear but it wasn’t and that had everyone of them do a double take. The acting supervisor of the scene finally cleared his throat, “Who are you and who is that?”“I am Detective Max Anderson of the Highlands police department. The guys here know me. This is my wife’s house now. This guy is Dean. It was brought to my attention while at the hospital and I got the chance to talk to one of the boys that he was left behind.” Max said as he chuckled. “The thing about my wife’s family is they really liked to hide things.”“You didn’t think it was necessary to talk to me before going into a secure area?” the man said and Max looked at him dead in the face and laugh

The Medics that were there at the scene looked over Dean quickly and he was sent via ambulance to the hospital to join the others. Max was in the car riding behind them. Though he knew he had to be there he also knew this was going to be a long journey ahead of him and Deanna. The blows would never really stop coming from her family though she had nothing to do with them.As expected the DA was calling him and he didn’t want to deal with the other man. Though he also knew that he had to give a run down to the man so everything could be halted for the trail. They had to find David’s part in this. It was never going to be finished though in Max’s eyes. David would never give them everything they needed. It was his sick way of controlling everything now. His mother had warped his brain. Nothing else would really matter to him but himself making everyone wait. Tha

“Did you need to have a conversation, my love?” Max chuckled as he lifted the other baby into his arms and he looked down into the face of the baby. Though he could see himself in the baby and the other that she was holding he could see small glimpses of her in them too. All he really wanted in life was knowing they would be as strong as their mother. He looked to her as he knew she was looking at him. She had her camera app open and was taking a picture of him with the small baby. He grinned as he looked back. “I haven’t been doing my job of taking hundreds of photos of you with them have I? this proves I am not the best father.”“It’s okay.” She said as she laughed, “I have made up for it.”“Oh no.” he said with shake of head. “But you see you take enough like with one or tw

When the babies both let out a whine and then followed by wails Max looked at both of them and smiled though he had been dozing on the pull out sofa bed when they had begun to make little sounds that made him stand and go to them. He picked one of the up and checked their diapers and both needed to be changed. He did it quickly and by the time he was done he saw that Deanna was blinking her eyes open. He looked at her and saw the changes that motherhood had already brough. He chuckled to himself as he couldn’t bring himself to look away from her chest.“See something you like?” she asked as she saw what her husband was looking at. When she reached out her arms to get one of the boys. Riley started rooting for her breast as soon as he was in her arms. Max laughed slightly as he watched his son try to get at her chest as well. She surprised him through when she

Kit had not disappointed with her help calling in a favor, Deanna was released the next day. Though she was sore she was surprisingly doing well even with the incisions. Kit called later and said if she needed any help to call and she would be there as soon as she could be. It was good to have a friend who was a doctor in cases like this. Deanna felt better than she had in months though. She knew understood why it had always felt different from what people had said.“I think I will have to go and talk to someone finally.” Deanna said as the two settled down for a minute in the comfort of their house. Areas had been set up and the introduction of their newest brothers had gone well. Deanna had talked about the babies so much they were basically ignored until one of them made a sound. The triplets didn’t even bother at the sight of Deanna breast feeding but Mich

Deanna was now relaxing as it seemed everyone else was dozing off. Michelle was now in her crib fast asleep. The triplets were in their rooms going to sleep. It was now just her and Max on the couch with the two babies in the swing.“We do have to talk.” Max said.“I know.” Deanna said. “I got a call back about the house. They are interested in a quick sale. All we have to do is go and sign the contract and next week we could have the keys and deed.”“I forgot how well money talks.” Max laughed, “Being I never had it like you do I really wouldn’t have ever known.”“Max be serious. • Breaking the Eye Wall   Epilogue

It had been one year since Max and Deanna Anderson found out about the death of David Watson which marked the ending of the saga of the Watson’s and the drama of the insanity that the family had caused. It was almost fitting that they were back at the Watson family house opening it to the public on the anniversary of his death. All of the kids were around them as they gave the first tour of the house. A place they both still hated with a burning passion.Deanna had learned to talk well in front of people as she had started to talk about her family and the things that had gone on in the house. She was getting better for herself as she talked about it more and more. Though Max was still a professor for the police academies he had slowed down his work schedule to help her out more around the house. The six children they had took nearly all of her time as she helped guide the

When the light of the day had faded Max and Deanna along with The Akechi’s stood on the porch waving off the group of men that had helped make the move and the unpacking go smooth. Mitsuhide and Max had disappeared for a bit of time and when they came back it seemed that Max could see straight again. Kit had pried the information out of Deanna as to why they both seemed like they were in a fog.“You know in the end it really is the best outcome. I understand that might be hard to hear but honestly it really is.” Kit said. “I had such a hard time accepting it when Randy used the bomb at the courthouse. I don’t think that many people should have been hurt or died because of the actions of a few but now I understand why he did it. He was ending the pain they caused but instead he caused more of his own.”“I get tha

Deanna sat back and waited for Max to say something or do something but instead he was lost in his own thoughts. He seemed to be taking this harder than she was. The one thing she could think of was he had seen her sister in the glass coffin and she hadn’t. The thought of that being her at some point had become one of his greatest fears though she knew that wouldn’t have happened. He looked over to her and took her hand in his. “Deanna I don’t know what to say.”“Then don’t say anything.” She said to him, “Words don’t really matter right now. The next day began as a complete blur of activity for both Max and Deanna. The start of it was the company that she had hired to open the letters wanted them to come and pick up the money. It was reaching into hundreds of thousands of dollars at that point and they didn’t want it at the building any longer. Deanna called and would have an armored truck come transport it to the bank sometime today. That was an easy fix for everyone involved. They made it to the lawyers and Deanna went in to get the keys for the house. She was in there for a little longer than she had hoped as they needed to go over a few more things about the case against David. He had gone radio silent while he was in the hospital. They were afraid he was trying to figure out how to break out though the police were not going to let that happen. He was the mos

Max ran his finger down her face as she looked up to him. “Yes.” He said softly. “Loni and her husband went to the hospital and got to spend some time with the boys. They wanted to know what was going to be needed for the two of them so they could set up the rooms for them. Deanna they will get all the love and attention they could ever need there. This is the best gift you could give to four people. Loni wanted you to know that she expects not wants you to be a part of the boys lives. You are their aunt and now cousin by marriage.”“Not another relation.” Deanna said. “I am just their aunt slash sister.”“Deanna everyone understands why you let go of them. It wasn’t because you didn’t love them or want them. It was that you wanted the best for them.” Max said as he gave her a squee

The next day they were getting the boxes ready for the first wave of things to be moved to the new house. Everything was set and they would be meeting in the morning with the lawyers who would have already bought the houses that were side by side. Deanna had thought about giving it to Mitsuhide and Kit well before she actually said it to Max. He knew that Mitsuhide would have his own issues with it but in the end he would accept it and they would have new neighbors. The thought of having a friend that close by was a god send to both men for the what if situations they knew they could run into with having so many little ones around. It would be good to have them close for that but also they would have each others back. Max still worried about David’s fans running about and that one of them could try to get to Deanna. Having Mitsuhide next door with his talents with a gun would be mind easing for h

The couples settled into a nice rest of the day with no talk of the craziness of the families they came from. They all tended to the children that were playing in the yard or taking a nap somewhere on the patio or inside. Life for one day was good as Deanna sat back and thought of everything that she should be doing. Instead she was enjoying talking to the couple and learning more about them. She was for the first time really starting to enjoy herself and she knew she was feeling better because of the mindset she was in. That was when she knew she could really just be herself with them and they would not judge her even on a bad day.Max was watching closely as his wife was sitting there and her mask was coming off more and more. Max and Mitsuhide were outside watching over most of the kids. The youngest set of twins were still inside. Mitsuhide was watching Max closely. “So how bad was it?”“What?” Max asked surprised he looked at his friend.“”When she woke up. I know you said she glossed over it but.” Mitsuhide said. He knew how bad everything had really been that day. Though he understood why Max had to get the answers that way no one thought it would affect Deanna like it had. The reaction she had to try and leave wasn’t something he or Max could have seen coming. Nor was the one that she was in labor. Even after watching his own wife go into labor he didn’t see any of the signs in Deanna.
