Mitsuhide and Deanna sat on the patio as Kit and Max went inside with the children to settle them down for a nap. With nine children in the house it was more than a headache but they wanted to give the two a chance to really talk. Max knew that Deanna needed someone to get everything out to besides him. She was handling the anger better than she had been a few months ago when everything had exploded in front of her.
“So why didn’t you really sell the house?” he asked as his piercing eyes looked at her. Whereas as Max’s golden eyes were kind and often something that she could get lost in. Mitsuhide’s yellow golden eyes were haunting. They looked like they could see right through you at any given time. It was easy to see how he could get the answers from people when he wanted to get them.
“I couldn’t.” Deann
“The first thing we need to do is make sure all of your plans are sound. One thing around you might snowball and then all hell will break loose.” Mitsuhide said. “You have people here who will help you like we did. My team stepped in for this. When they found out about your case half of them wanted to come as well.”Kit started to laugh at that one, “They would. It is in their nature to want to help someone in their scope but we did manage to get them to slow down and hold their position. Max I am sure you know a few of them either personally or by reputation. However they are good guys and they will help out if we call them in. They are your back up to a back up plan.”“They are also rather good with kids. They are all basically giant kids anyway.” Mitsuhide said with a war
The group was quiet for a few minutes. Deanna was thinking and trying to remember anything that could help them figure out what she had walked into and the place that the horrors of the website Mitsuhide had found and where it was located. She couldn’t remember how she had got there in the first place. She tried to think but every time it seemed blocked. The thing that she kept thinking about was the maze in the garden. She didn’t know why she kept going back to there in her mind. It didn’t make any sense. Now she knew what the maze really was as well as the garden itself. It had been a place for her grandfather to spread the remains of his children in the name of saving Deanna from the curse of her birth. Deanna hadn’t gone into the garden since she had found out it was nothing more than a glorified graveyard for sacrificed children.
“What?” Max asked as he knelt down next to her.“I went right.” She said as a tear fell. Deanna looked at him. “The third turn. I went right.”“What did you see?” Mitsuhide asked as he leaned forward as he watched Max rub her back. She knew they were there. She knew they would be there for her.“The grass grew funny there.” She said softly. “It wasn’t right. It was a different type of grass then the rest of the rest of the yard. It looked fake. It was over grown as well. Everything was kept near perfect but that one spot.”“What was near the grass?” Mitsuhide pushed again.“A piece of metal.” She said as she looked at him. “Like an old fashion door knocker. It was circular.”
Max followed Deanna into the house. She knew the triplets would be waking up soon and wanted to be ready when they did. The two sets of twins were in the living room sharing a crib each. She smiled at them. “They all look like Mitsuhide except this one.” Deanna said as he pointed out Mason.“Surprisingly he looks like Kit.” Max chuckled.“It is hilarious that he does.” Mitsuhide said as he followed in the door. “That was the first clue as to who the person was responsible.” He looked at Deanna. “The night we found out and I was called into the center to be questioned Kit had one of her friends called in and they did and ultrasound of June. We saw their faces that night. They looked the same when they were born. That is also how we found out the next set was identical. But that night started the questions for both of us and only one
“You know that is how mind control works?” Mitsuhide said softly. He was watching the young woman in front of him. Though she was the youngest of the group by a few years she had an aura about her that matched his wife’s in making her seem much older than she really was. He smiled at the thought that he could only deal with one woman like his wife but this other one wasn’t all that bad to add to the mix. Mitsuhide thought Max had lucked out the same way he did.“What is?” Deanna asked as Max rubbed her shoulders softly.“To implant a simple idea and let it take root.” Mitsuhide said. “The more people you have around that believe the idea or help the idea the more it takes root. It makes it almost impossible for the person to believe that it was there in the first place.”“So what your saying is
Max watched his tiny wife as he drove knowing the van behind was following to the same spot of hell. She had gone quiet knowing there was something else to find at the house. She had begun to hate the house for everything that she was. That was hard because she knew the house wasn’t at fault for the actions of her parents and siblings. It was them who was responsible for that. The house was just a symbol of the horror that they brought forth to the world.Deanna was trying to remember something good to keep her mind from going into the place she really didn’t want to go. She had dealt with everything so well on the surface of the storm that people were amazed with her strength. She had been good at hiding herself and her feelings from everyone and even to a point Max. She understood why Max had called these two in to help. She liked them both. They were open and hon
When they pulled up to the gated house Max hit the button to open the gate. As it opened and he drove in he could see the reaction of the two people in the back of them as they looked around. Max shut the gate behind them with another touch of a button. He hated this place. He looked up to the house which had more hidden rooms built into the walls that no one knew about until one thing snowballed and everything went to hell.“Stop it.” Deanna said as he looked up at her husband.“Stop what?” he asked as he looked down to her.“If I have to learn to let go so do you.” She replied. Max had been affected by the house because he was the one who had to search it. Everything in it he had seen firsthand. He saw things even she hadn’t. He was glad about that much. Deanna had enough to deal with
They started to back out of the Maze when they heard the trapdoor open. “Get her out of here.” Max said to Mitsuhide and the two started to run as fast as she could go. Which wasn’t that fast.Deanna turned to Mitsuhide and said, “Go help him. I am fine.”“Not on your life, Deanna. This was my job from the start. I will take the cops back when they get here and both of us can have back up.” Mitsuhide said as he moved her to the circle of children and stood in front of her. Though it had never been said he knew his job was getting her through the next part. Which ever way it worked out.Mitsuhide and Kit shared a glance. Kit got up and went over to Deanna. Kit helped her sit. “It will be fine.” Kit said as she held her hand.“Nothing about my family is fine.” Deanna said.

It had been one year since Max and Deanna Anderson found out about the death of David Watson which marked the ending of the saga of the Watson’s and the drama of the insanity that the family had caused. It was almost fitting that they were back at the Watson family house opening it to the public on the anniversary of his death. All of the kids were around them as they gave the first tour of the house. A place they both still hated with a burning passion.Deanna had learned to talk well in front of people as she had started to talk about her family and the things that had gone on in the house. She was getting better for herself as she talked about it more and more. Though Max was still a professor for the police academies he had slowed down his work schedule to help her out more around the house. The six children they had took nearly all of her time as she helped guide the
When the light of the day had faded Max and Deanna along with The Akechi’s stood on the porch waving off the group of men that had helped make the move and the unpacking go smooth. Mitsuhide and Max had disappeared for a bit of time and when they came back it seemed that Max could see straight again. Kit had pried the information out of Deanna as to why they both seemed like they were in a fog.“You know in the end it really is the best outcome. I understand that might be hard to hear but honestly it really is.” Kit said. “I had such a hard time accepting it when Randy used the bomb at the courthouse. I don’t think that many people should have been hurt or died because of the actions of a few but now I understand why he did it. He was ending the pain they caused but instead he caused more of his own.”“I get tha
Deanna sat back and waited for Max to say something or do something but instead he was lost in his own thoughts. He seemed to be taking this harder than she was. The one thing she could think of was he had seen her sister in the glass coffin and she hadn’t. The thought of that being her at some point had become one of his greatest fears though she knew that wouldn’t have happened. He looked over to her and took her hand in his. “Deanna I don’t know what to say.”“Then don’t say anything.” She said to him, “Words don’t really matter right now. Nothing can undo what has been done. We do need to get to the house though. The movers are waiting.”“You still want to move today?” he asked somewhat surprised.“Am I supposed to gi
The next day began as a complete blur of activity for both Max and Deanna. The start of it was the company that she had hired to open the letters wanted them to come and pick up the money. It was reaching into hundreds of thousands of dollars at that point and they didn’t want it at the building any longer. Deanna called and would have an armored truck come transport it to the bank sometime today. That was an easy fix for everyone involved. They made it to the lawyers and Deanna went in to get the keys for the house. She was in there for a little longer than she had hoped as they needed to go over a few more things about the case against David. He had gone radio silent while he was in the hospital. They were afraid he was trying to figure out how to break out though the police were not going to let that happen. He was the mos
Max ran his finger down her face as she looked up to him. “Yes.” He said softly. “Loni and her husband went to the hospital and got to spend some time with the boys. They wanted to know what was going to be needed for the two of them so they could set up the rooms for them. Deanna they will get all the love and attention they could ever need there. This is the best gift you could give to four people. Loni wanted you to know that she expects not wants you to be a part of the boys lives. You are their aunt and now cousin by marriage.”“Not another relation.” Deanna said. “I am just their aunt slash sister.”“Deanna everyone understands why you let go of them. It wasn’t because you didn’t love them or want them. It was that you wanted the best for them.” Max said as he gave her a squee
The next day they were getting the boxes ready for the first wave of things to be moved to the new house. Everything was set and they would be meeting in the morning with the lawyers who would have already bought the houses that were side by side. Deanna had thought about giving it to Mitsuhide and Kit well before she actually said it to Max. He knew that Mitsuhide would have his own issues with it but in the end he would accept it and they would have new neighbors. The thought of having a friend that close by was a god send to both men for the what if situations they knew they could run into with having so many little ones around. It would be good to have them close for that but also they would have each others back. Max still worried about David’s fans running about and that one of them could try to get to Deanna. Having Mitsuhide next door with his talents with a gun would be mind easing for h
The couples settled into a nice rest of the day with no talk of the craziness of the families they came from. They all tended to the children that were playing in the yard or taking a nap somewhere on the patio or inside. Life for one day was good as Deanna sat back and thought of everything that she should be doing. Instead she was enjoying talking to the couple and learning more about them. She was for the first time really starting to enjoy herself and she knew she was feeling better because of the mindset she was in. That was when she knew she could really just be herself with them and they would not judge her even on a bad day.Max was watching closely as his wife was sitting there and her mask was coming off more and more. He loved to see her this way. It was the person
Max and Mitsuhide were outside watching over most of the kids. The youngest set of twins were still inside. Mitsuhide was watching Max closely. “So how bad was it?”“What?” Max asked surprised he looked at his friend.“”When she woke up. I know you said she glossed over it but.” Mitsuhide said. He knew how bad everything had really been that day. Though he understood why Max had to get the answers that way no one thought it would affect Deanna like it had. The reaction she had to try and leave wasn’t something he or Max could have seen coming. Nor was the one that she was in labor. Even after watching his own wife go into labor he didn’t see any of the signs in Deanna.
