No Escape:
Dinner was silent as Alice waited in the corner for them to finish, eyes casted at the floor. Her arm was still aching but the ointment Loretta placed on it was making the pain bearable. The chairs began to move about from the table and Alice cringed hoping they would just leave her alone and go about the remainder of the evening. They had made her suffer enough, today
Her father was passed out up stairs. He apparently threw a giant fit after he branded her, drank way too much and was carried up the stairs. Every now and then you could hear him, wake up, groan and then it was silent.
“How did it go with Eliza?” Sarah spoke up, setting her fork down and patting her mouth with a napkin.
“Fine. She loved the roses and Alpha enjoyed the cigars, we smoked one together and began talking about the pack.” Jame said proudly, pushing his plate away.
“Excellent, you will be Alpha soon enough. We are so proud of you.” Sarah beamed.
“We need to get rest; the banquet is tomorrow and then of course a ceremony. Once you officially mark Eliza everything will fall right into place.” Sarah said standing up.
“I need to go double my outfit for tomorrow, you should do the same. You need to look sharp and like an Alpha.” Sarah nodded at him before she excited the room.
The plates were left at the table as her stepmother left. James lingered back a second longer. Alice kept her eyes on the ground. She hated the way he stared at her when no one was around. Ever since she entered her teenage years and began developing breasts, he would consistently look at her when his mother wasn't around. His gaze made her feel disgusted. He would even accidently walk in on her in the bathroom back when she was allowed to use the bathroom in the house. She waited silently acting like she didn't feel him looking at her, like his eyes were not wandering over her body. Scarlet was growling at him from inside of her.
“James go set out your clothing.” Sarah's voice came down from the hall like she knew.
James looked at her one last time before disappearing. Thank god she thought. She brought the dishes over to the sink and began washing them staring out the window at the moon in the sky. She sighed trying to push back the wave of emotions she was feeling. The pack was filled with single and troubled wolves. The Alpha stuck them there to keep an eye on them or they were going through training. She didn't want to be around more boys like James. She was used to sleeping and existing in poor conditions. Home life here wasn't any better but at least there was only one James. Alice finished wiping the dishes dry. She set the last dish in the drying rack and paused to listen.
The house was quiet, she could hear her stepmother's snores and her father’s overly loud breathing. She smiled to herself as she walked to the back door the cold cool air of the night rushed into her brushing against her skin. Her arm with her newly fresh burn stung, she flinched seeing it weeping from the bandage. She needed to clean it and rebandage it. Alice walked into the forest and followed the path she knew all too well. She could hear the water flowing and it called to her.
She walked out into the clearing, the river flowing moving gently almost still like with moonlight dancing off of it. Her body instantly calmed. She sat next to her favorite rock kicking off her torn and dirty shoes dipping her toes into the water. Her arm stung and she knew she needed to attend to her arm. She slowly began unwrapping the bloody bandage. Wincing the whole time she was doing it. She hadn't looked at it, she didn't want to see the numbers, didn't want to see what her flesh looked like. She didn't want to deal with what it meant.
The blistered numbers stared back at her and she felt her chest cave in. She squeezed her eyes shut as hot tears flooded her eyes. Why! Her mind screamed. She doubled over feeling like she was going to vomit, like her chest was collapsing.
A father isn't supposed to do this! How could he! He didn't love her! How did she lose his love? Why! She felt the air rush out of her lungs.
She wanted to scream, her body shaking as silent cries rippled through her body. She held herself with her good arm trying to calm down. The blister scraped across the fabric of her shirt and she flinched. The involuntary flinch caused her to move and fell into the river. Her knees scraping the rocks. Her arm plunged into the water, the cold shock of the river water hitting her skin brought her out of her crisis. She crashed to her knees letting the river wash over her. she tilted her head back looking up at the dark blue velvet sky that flickers with the tiny lights of the stars. Her eyes settled on the big white full moon. The word please whispered in her mind, pleading.
“Please save me.” She whispered to the moon, begging the goddess to save her from her fate.
“No one is saving you.” A cruel voice came from the river bank.
Hearing his voice she felt like the world just hated her. What did she do so bad that she deserved this. Maybe if she didn't acknowledge him he would leave. James kicked a rock and skipped across the water hitting Alice in the chest, water splashing up into her face.
“You're not worth anyone's time,” James sneered, staring at her.
“I know you're thinking that You’ll turn eighteen tomorrow and maybe find your mate. Runaway like cinderella. If the moon goddess has even given you one. Your mate will take one look at you and flee. You're worthless.” James said, his eyes wandering over her body.
Alice tried to chase his words from his mind. A sickening thought entered her head: what if he was right, what if her mate rejects her. She stood up dripping wet. She made her way to the river back out of the water, trying her best to avoid James. James watched the wet clothing clinged to her body. Even though she was thin, far too thin she still had curves. Her breast bounced as she walked, the wet fabric showing every outline. He remembered wishing she was so beautiful, he hated that he was attracted to her. She stumbled again and ended up closer to James. She took a deep breath not wanting him to see her weak and walked past him.
James reached over and caught her wrist. Alice stopped hoping if he got to say the last insult, the last degrading thing he could think of, maybe he would just leave her alone and she could go back to hell.
“You're wasting your time asking the goddess for help.” He said, still holding her wrist tightly.
“James, just let me go.” Alice said defeated.
He felt himself become harder as she said his name. He wanted to hear her scream his name. Images of what it would like to be on top of her flooded his mind and he couldn't fight what he wanted anymore.
“You should ask someone who could actually help you.” Jame said his voice deep and suddenly filled with lust.
Alice was confused by his tone, so she turned to look at him. What was going on? Was he serious? Did he know someone who could help her?
“Who?” Alice asked her eyebrow together in confusion.
“An Alpha.” James said, pulling her wrist gently to make her step closer to him.
“The Alpha isn't going to help me. It’s his fault people are enslaved in the first place. It was his idea.” Alice said, shaking her head at James.
“He won't be Alpha for long and lucky for you, you know the next inline Alpha.” James said with a small smile.
“You..you would help me?” Alice said her voice was small, trying to fight hope that maybe after all this time her step brother did care for her and would help her.
“I might consider it…if you helped me.” James said stepping towards her, he licked his lips as he said it.
“Help you? What would you need help with?” Alice said the way he was acting was hard for her to understand.
“Don't get coy Alice. You know you could definitely help me with something you have.” James said, his voice getting more and more breathy as he talked.
“Something I have?” Alice said tugging on her wrist.
“Yes, something you have, that you haven't let anyone have. Something no one has touched.” James said, holding on to her wrist tighter.
“Let go.” Alice said alarms going off inside her head.
“Give me your virginity and I will let you be Eliza’s and our house maid. You won't ever step into the pack house.” Jame said quietly, as he licked his lip again.
“Get the fuck away from me James.” Alice growled, pulling on his her hand hard this time.
“Don’t be stupid Alice, i am your best chance.” James said, yanking her back into him.
Run: As he pulled her towards him Jame’s hand slid to her side capturing her waist. His other hand, holding her wrist, grasped her hand harder. He turned her hand, bending it downwards, and brought it towards him. Alice let out a small gasp as she felt something hard beneath her hand. James pinned her hand against his hard member. Alice tried yanking her hand away from James' pelvis. James growled as she struggled against him. The more she tried to pull away the more she pressed against him. She could feel him underneath her hand. She began to hit him with her free hand trying to step and pull back away from her. James' hold on her was too strong. Her closed fist blows to his chest weren't even phasing him. “Yeah you feel that. You’ll be feeling that in you soon.” James whispered a sick smile on his face as he moved her hand against it, forcing her to rub him, a groan escaping his lips as it happened. Alice grabbed a hold of him and began to squeeze his member hoping that she wou
The Red Dress: “Alice!!” Sarah screamed at the top of her lungs, she stood in the middle of the kitchen fuming. “Did the dumb girl run away?’ Sarah asked her eyes darting to Karl and James. James shrugged and Karl held his head hung over. The screaming was hurting his head and he couldn't even begin to process what Sarah needed. “Alice!!” Sarah screamed again this time banging on the counter top as she stomped her foot. “For the love of god Sarah.” Karl groaned, cradling her head. “Don't Sarah me! Your damn daughter is fucking everything up again.” Sarah said anger coursing through her voice. “Alice!!!” Sarah yelled her voice bouncing off the walls of the house. Alice’s head sunk forward and then jolted back as she heard her name screamed. She brought the knife up ready to defend herself. Her head hitting the shelf in the closet. She still held the knife tightly in her hand as she tried to understand what was happening. She saw light from under the door. What time was it? She
Spilt Wine:The steam from the pans on the stove stung her brand. She didn't get a chance to wrap it. Any type of heat made it ache. She had lost the ointment loretta gave her when James tried to rape her. She shook her head as she leaned over checking the oven. She could hear the noises coming from the hall. From the sounds coming from the hall, All the guests had arrived. Laughter and music trickled into the kitchen. She felt angry thinking about how James and her Stepmother must be having a great time. That everything is working out perfectly for them. She gritted her teeth as she felt the heat on her brand again. She looked around the kitchen, taking in the other workers. She was working with four other people who haven't spoken to her since she got there. They were wearing beige colored outfits. She felt a tinge of regret seeing the color. She didn't think it could get any worse than being a beige, that was until she was given red. It was never even a thought in her mind that t
Meeting:Alice’s footsteps were heavy as she walked down the hall. She could hear laughter and music being played, while people ate and drank. Why was she cursed to suffer like this? How can they be so fucking happy when they allow people to suffer like this. The red dress burned against her skin as she felt her body begging her to react. She could feel her stomach twisting and her chest caving but she isn't acknowledging it. She wanted to be completely numb. She wouldn't let that bitch see her break, she decided as she turned down the hall. At the very end the master sweet door beckoned her. She gritted her teeth, maybe he’ll kill us and we won't have to go stand on a stage like some cattle for sale. No one is killing us and no one is selling us. Drop the wine off and then we will duck out the back stairwell. We won't even go back to the kitchen. Hell, we can climb out a window. Once outside shift. You know I am faster than all those soldiers. I will get us out of here. Lenore gro
No Escape:He pushed open the pack house hall doors. He was beginning to hate that he accepted the invitation. Garold had reminded him several times that he needed to keep up with his relationships with the other packs. He should have sent him instead. Garold, being the beta of the Black Mountain Pack, stayed behind in case anything would happen. He had Skarde and Njar with him and that's all. Most Alpha’s traveled with guards and more pack members but not Arkyn. He didn't need anyone else. He himself could take down a small army, never mind the damage Skarde and Njar could inflict. He was greeted with silence, it made himself smile. The music was cut off and everyone stared at them as they entered.“Ah warm invite as always.” Skarde smirked.Njar just grunted looking out across the crowd. The grunt was quiet but it caused the crowd to shift back away from them more. Arkyn hated weak people, looking at them trying to hide. Where was the Alpha? ‘Welcome.” A voice echoed out from th
Auction:“No.” The word fell out of her mouth as a last hopeless plea. She backed away from them pinning herself against the back door. The door knob falling out of her hand. She couldn't run. They would all hunt her. Her step mother would rally the other packs to find her too. It would no longer be a celebration auction but a celebration of death. She felt the blood draining from her legs. She could out run two soldiers but not an army. She felt her legs wobble. Lenore’s solution was the only one. What if it didn't work? We can't think about that right now. Lenore growled trying to get Alice to stop being so afraid. The men grunted and looked at her in disgust as they began dragging her. Alice’s legs buckled out from under her as the two men dragged her out of the kitchen. She couldn't feel body, her mind couldn't comprehend what was happening. She was trying to fight but everything was going limp. Her fingernails dug into their arms but it didn't even phase them. They dragged her i
Pathetic:The world went soundless and became fuzzy. She began to sway back and forth. Her mind struggles between fight or flight. There wasn't an option. There was no fight or flight option. Her mind was struggling and then finally caved. She felt her legs buckle and give away behind. Everything is going in slow motion. Something was moving quickly towards her. Something strong. The world fizzled into blackness. He smirked coming out of his room. He didn't even bother stopping to leave to put his shirt on. She took off running. He loved when they ran, his wolf inside of him going crazy. He loved the chase. He wiped the blood dripping from his nose as he power walked down the hallway following her scent. Each inhale makes him want her more. Adrenaline pumping through him like he was on a hunt. Loud noises of shouting echoed out from the hall. She was smart. She ran into a crowded place. No matter what, he would find her. Walking to the hall he saw them all huddle by the stage. Everyo
Corruption:James growled fiercely. Arkyn has insulted him and his pack. He was the future Alpha; he couldn't show weakness. His jaw clenched shut and he began walking off stage. His eyes glowing as his wolf was ready to shift. Images of ripping Arkyn’s throat out, the front of his chest drenched in wine colored blood. He went to step off the stage, his claws descending out of his finger tips.“James!” Sarah shouted at his back. James stiffened up his shoulders dropping and then arching back as he turned to look at his mouth. His eyes were full of anger as he looked at his mother. He watches Arkyn walk out of the hall. He had paused for a second in the aisle as if baiting James. After Sarah called his name, Jame watched Arkyn continue walking. James could see the smug smile on his face even though he wasn't looking at him. Sarah walked quickly to James touching his forearm lightly. “James we must tread carefully right now.” Sarah said her voice lightly trying to sing that she was no
Vow:Eliza paced the room, her hand resting on her belly. She was waiting ro Alice to wake up but part of her wanted to run, to flee Black Mountain. She felt the pull to him. She had felt it before with James. She felt sick thinking about it. She couldn’t stop thinking about his ruffled blond hair and deep chocolate brown eyes. She couldn’t, she had to think about her and her unborn child. What man would want to take on this? Especially with the child's father being their enemy even though he’s dead. She needed to just think about her and mend the relationship with Black Mountain, go back to Red River and make the pack better and new. A knock on the door tore her from her thoughts and pacing. She inhaled while walking to the door slowly. She put a smile on her face chasing away her thoughts. She knew Arkyn would come to talk to her at some point, she was still a little terrified of him but she needed to end the feud James had started and helping saving him in his pack sounded like it
Lenore saw Arkyn collapse to his knees. She dropped Norris’s head from her mouth and ran towards him. As he slumped over she slid underneath him bracing him against impact. As he collapsed onto her she shifted into human form, her hands wrapping around him as he fell against her. “Arkyn!” She yelled as she cradled him to her, blood pouring from his sides. Why wasn’t he healing? She kneeled in front of him. She was completely naked, blood covered the front of her, running from her chin like war paint down to her stomach. Her long black hair concealing her naked breast as she checked to see if he was still breathing. She watched his chest slowly raise and fall. It was slow, she needed to get him to the hospital now. She pulled him against her, her arms going under his shoulders. Her eyes locked on her destination as she began to drag him. She shut her eyes trying to focus all her strength on pulling him. Blood smeared across the white snow as she began dragging him. The battle around
Fight:The ground was littered with bodies, some dying others no longer in this world. Arkyn had several at his feet, Blood running down both his arms, a mixture of his own and the ones he had slaughtered. Arkyn growled, becoming frustrated as he could feel members of his pack dying in the battle. Conan pushed him forward. His Anger pushed him forward.Norris locked eyes on Arkyn, a grin appearing on his face as he watched him walk through the crowd, slaughtering anyone that attempted to touch him. He walked effortlessly, Norris couldn't help but be a little impressed at hsi skills and how easily he made it look. Norris twirled the bottle in his hand. He had been waiting for years for this moment. Not only would he slaughter his whole pack but he would make sure Arkyn died slowly and painfully. The liquid silver in the vial felt warm beneath his touch the glass, the only thing preventing it from poisoning him. Norris tucked it away, it had to be done in the most perfect timing. Ark
War:“Garold, I need you to take Alice and go.” Arkyn said, shoving Alice into Garold. “Go where? Arkyn we are surrounded, I am staying and fighting with you.” Alice growled angrily.“I..I can’t. I cant have anything happen to you. Do you hear me, even if I die here, that’s fine. This was how I was always supposed to go out but you, you need to live and you need to go.’ Arkyn growled fiercely. “I am not-“Garold, I command you to take her and go!” Arkyn yelled using his Alpha status to ensure Garold would submit.“Alpha.” Garold said, trying to resist the order.“Don’t …make…me…” Garold said his body twitching as he began sweating, pain starting to radiate throughout him.“Arkyn I am fine. I am staying.” Alice said, grabbing a hold of his hand.“Alice I cannot lie you die here or worse.” Arkyn said his eyes flickering to Garold who he knew any minute would have to cave.“Arkyn i would have died in a cell or worse if you didn’t come to Red River. I am not-As the word not left her mo
Fire:“That's it, there's the signal!” Curt yelled his body vibrating with happiness as he began to move. He stopped short looking to Norris. Norris sighed loudly and at Curt but inside his wolf was vibrating with pure adrenaline and rage, waiting and wanting to cause havoc and pain on Arkyn’s pack. Curt’s eyes glossed over as he informed the pack and they began to move out of the woods, like shadow figures of the night. The glow of the bright orange flames catching the wood on fire brighter the dark area. Conan lunged at Jonah sinking his teeth into his leg and tossing him towards the flames. Jonah let out a loud yell as Conan stalked towards him, teeth snarling and chopping. A loud bang pushed Conan back and the bright flash that lit up the area made everyone shield their eyes.Garold pushed through the crowd of men, all of them not reacting and all stunned at what just happened. Even Jonah’s men were not sure what the explosion was. Everyone was trying to get their bearings back.
Stand off:Norris paced the woods just outside Black Mountain. He was waiting for the signal or for Arkyn to arrive. He had been waiting for this moment. He really wished it had been his father. Not much was said about how he died. He hoped he suffered. Died slowly, painfully. Alone. Norris ran his hair through his short sandy color hair. His dark green eyes studying the entrance. Years of living in the Dark Forest made his eyes accustomed to the dark, he could see for miles. The weather was not bothering him either. No sunshine meant the forest did not get warm. He clenched his jaw waiting. “Alpha, any sign yet?” Curt said walking up to his side, his dark brown eyes scanning the entrance as he tossed his braid behind him. “No but there was a jailbreak for a second. I sent word to Jonah that the raven hair girl jumped out the window and broke Arkyn’s men out of jail.” Norris smiled a little. “A girl?” Curt asked his eyes scanning for a child.“No Arkyn’s woman, his mate. She’s eit
SOS:“Alpha, the pack is locked in the hall. Jonah is threatening to burn it down. We are outside just in front of the hall.” Njar rapidly sent through mindlink.“Pour mountain Ash on them, The mindlinking needs to stop.” Jonah said as he walked down the stairs from the stage. “There’s a pack helping Jonah -'' Njar was cut off as mountain ash was dumped on him, he flinched in pain, his eyes flicking to Alice regret in them.“Dark..Forest.” Skarde sent his voice weak even in mindlink, he heard the order of mountain ash and did not know if Arkyn would get the message. He needed to try. Skarde was covered with mountain ash, he crashed further into the snow covered. The men walked around sprinkling the dust on everyone to ensure no one would be able to communicate with Arkyn. The man walked towards Alice who was dosing out the mountain ash.“Never mind her, she is packless. She might as well be a rogue.” Jonah chuckled. The words stung, reminding her that she had wished that she had ac
Almost: “So just how did you escape?” Njar smirked as they reached the door to the dungeon. “Jumped.” Alice said a small smirk on her face as she pushed the doors opened and walked out into the cold air. “You were a bird or monkey in another life.” Njar laughed. “No …maybe a cat. Nine lives in all. Just remember to say thank you when i’m all done saving your butts.” Alice laughed as they began moving silently through the darkness heading to the hall. The hall was in sight, they were almost there. They were almost all free and ready to take back their pack. Alice paused just in front of the hall, something was off. Her eyes fixated on a large stage placed in front of the hall and a large stake in the middle of it. She tilted her head, her brain trying to understand exactly what she was looking at and when did it get there. “Surrender.” Jonah’s voice said from behind the group. They all turned and Jonah’s army slowly surrounded them. That was fine, they could fight and take th
Jailbreak: The cold wind blowing from the window sent chills running through her. Alice stood at the window, fidgeting with her fingers. She had jumped out the window before. It was more adrenaline than anything. She took a deep breath and pulled open the window. She looked down at the snow on the ground. It was just like before, she would have perfect padding she told herself. The only thing different is if she didn't do this it wasn't just her life she was trying to save but the whole pack. “Jump!” Lenore shouted in their mind. Alice took a deep breath and jumped. The wind rushing up at her made her inhale deeper. She squeezed her eyes shut as the white snow came rushing towards her. Alice relies on Lenore and her quick reflection. Lenore took over just enough not causing a shift but Alice landed neatly in the snow pile. Her Knee pressed into the snow, her hand bracing herself as her jet black hair floated down around. The snow scraping against her skin felt like tiny knives. Al
