Raven's POV
April and I couldn't talk about anything else but the ball. We were excited because we were in the group that would do the final clean up. We could get things like clothes and even if you are lucky gold chains or bracelet that can be sold in exchange for money and that meant money to enjoy with. The rich spend lavishly. Some even deliberately give you money when you help clean the room they slept and carried their luggage to their cars. It is also rumored that some Omega girls sleep with people who come from other packs for money. Lina and her friend Queen had been accused of the act often times. But since there was no rule against doing that, no one has ever said anything against them. It was also rumored that Luna Laura offered some of the girls to visiting Alphas and other high ranking officers from other packs. It was all rumored, none established. April had once said that none of the girls Luna Laura used would dare to tell anyone since all the Omegas knew exactly what it felt like to have the wrath of Luna Laura directed at them. The Luna was mean but no one dared say it to her face. 'I wish the Luna would pick me as one of the girls she would give to the foreign Alphas or Beta or whatever,' April said a day to the ball. ' What?' I screamed surprised enough to keep screaming. April quickly used her hand to cover my mouth in order to stop me from further screaming. We were in my own hut which was directly opposite theirs and of course her mother was in the hut. 'Why are you shouting like that, you want mum to come in here and behead me?' She asked as quietly as she could. 'So you know that your mother can actually behead you for saying that?' 'Look I know what I wish for is bad, like bad bad but look at Lina for example. Sometimes it is as if she is not even an Omega. Her clothes may not be that expensive but they are neat.' 'Have you thought that she might be getting the clothes from a kind hearted high ranking wolf?' 'That is a big fat lie. People have actually seen her buying cloths from those selling second hand clothes. I am very sure that she is definitely one of the girls Luna Laura uses to please men,' April said hissing like a snake. April hated Lina and her friends and she didn't do much to hide it. In fact, she had shown them how much she detested them several times. 'Ok fine. Let's say it is true she whores herself to non pack members for money to buy clothes. Why must you join them. If you sell your dignity because of immaterial things and your mate finally comes around, what would you do then?' I asked. 'I am just tired of the way we live Raven. My mum deserves happiness. She is a young woman yet she looks older than her age,' April said with tears in her eyes, she bowed her head in sorrow. I placed a placating hand on her bowed head. It hurt me to see her so downcast. 'Your mate is an Alpha April, you must be patient till he finds you,' I said but my voice seemed off. It sounded so unlike me. 'Who talked just now,' April asked raising her head in surprise. 'I did,' I answered. 'The voice didn't sound like yours,' she said not believing me. 'I was the one who spoke April, stop being dramatic,' I said rolling my eyes at her. 'Why would you say my mate is an Alpha? Have you joined those who keep day dreaming about something that can never be?' She asked looking at me with feigned annoyance. 'Do not think what I said cannot come to pass. There is always this regal aura around you sometimes that mimics that of a Luna,' I tried explaining myself to her. 'You know what? I think this whole ball thing is beginning to get into your head just as it got to me,' she said. 'If I am day dreaming positive things because the ball got to me, then it is good. You thinking of whoring yourself to Alphas and other high ranking wolves from other packs is pure undiluted madness,' I said making April close her eyes in shame. 'Mum can never hear of this Raven, ever,' she said pulling my right ear. 'That is painful April, stop,' I cried out. 'Is your wolf that weak that you can't take this little pain?' April asked and laughed. Ever since I got my wolf, April has been tormenting me. The things she wouldn't do to me before, are things she does now. According to her my ability to withstand pain should be greater than before. 'It doesn't pain at all sis,' I said laughing. April dropped my ear immediately as if it was too hot to hold. She looked at me with something caught between fear and surprise. 'What?' I asked her when I saw her face. 'Who spoke just now?' She asked with the same expression. 'If you are trying to spook me it won't work,' I said to her thinking she was trying to scare me. 'I am serious, Rave, if it was you that spoke, it didn't sound like you at all. Besides you never call me sister. It then suddenly dawned on me . It must have been Rave my wolf. I got angry at her. How could she ask me to keep us as a secret when she was trying to communicate with April. We both shrugged the matter off. We continued talking about the ball. What we knew the very rich wolves would wear and the amount of food we would be able to bring home and eat. April's mum called us to come for food so we had to cut our discussion short to heed her. Food was nothing special. Be it breakfast, lunch or dinner but since April's mum worked in the kitchen, there were days we were able to get left over of some well prepared food. We ate in relative quiet since April and I had practically discussed all we could about the ball. I glanced at April's mum and saw a kind of unhappiness in her eyes. She was like that every year before the ball and during the ball. After the ball and everyone had returned to their packs, she would then cheer up. While I was younger I had always thought it was the work load that came with the ball that dampened her mood but on closer look it seemed there was something attached to the ball that made her sad. I wanted to ask her but I didn't want to worsen things for her incase she had something bothering her. So I decided I was going to ask her after the ball tomorrow. If only I knew what tomorrow held, I wouldn't have made any plans of my own.Raven's POVEverywhere was agog with people going and coming. The kitchen was busy. I had taken time to wash my dress in order to ensure that I looked presentable. The whole pack was ready for the ball that would happen later in the day.Guests had started arriving in beautiful cars and attires that would make one salivate and wish for a better life.I was in the middle of hard work, so I had no time to admire people. I couldn't afford to get caught staring at guests. In the process of arranging dishes into a rack, Maggot had come into the kitchen informing me that the Luna wanted to see me. I asked Maggot where the Luna would be and she answered with disdain that the Luna was in the general waiting room. My heart was in my mouth as I walked towards the general waiting room. I knocked gently on the door and I heard someone tell me to open the door and come in.I entered to see the Luna sitting down like the royalty that she was on a sofa. The sofa was green in colour and it contrast
Raven's POVI stayed in my hut the rest of the day. I waited for April to return from whatever chores she was doing around the pack. My heart was in turmoil. I was angry with my wolf. How can she insist that we stayed till the end of the ball? I couldn't help but doubt her words about her being powerful. I kept a strong lid on our link so that she would not try to communicate with me. 'Raven, are you in there?' I heard April's mum call from outside. My heart immediately started racing. I wasn't expecting her back yet. Of course she was assigned kitchen duties and I knew she was supposed to come home and clean up before it was time to start serving the guest. I was not expecting her to be back soon.I opened the door and met her at the entrance of her own hut.'You are back so early,' I said trying to keep my emotions out of my voice.'Yes. That would be because I told Maggot that I had to ease myself,' she said.'I see. Where is April? I have been waiting for her all day?' I asked, t
Raven's POVI stood near the general waiting room nervous and scared witless. I didn't know what the consequences of what I did earlier would be.I had stayed indoors all through. When I was sure the ball would have started, I left the room and walked to the kitchen wearing two clothes. I wore the one the Luna gave me first then I put my Omega uniform on it.My plan was to pull the uniform off when the time was right to go to the general waiting room.I knew that the Luna instructed me to come to the general waiting room after the ball but I couldn't stay still.Besides I wanted to at least have the image of Bella in my head as I die. The kitchen was full of Omegas running helter skelter to get things done. I looked around sadly. I should have been in the kitchen trying to get things done but I was picked by the Luna to do a special duty that was more dangerous than asking me to walk into a raging fire. With a raging fire, I know what awaits me but with the Luna's special duty, I do
Alpha Roy's POV I didn't want to be dragged to a ball I had refused to attend for years. It was all baseless when we had a Luna rites to perform very soon. My twin brother Roman had insisted we honoured the invite before we performed the Luna rites. Roman attended the ball every two years. It was his thing to have fun when he could but I wasn't like that. I was the serious one. Although we were twins, we differed on a lot of levels. He didn't take life too seriously while I loved thoroughness. We had searched for our mate ever since we turned eighteen to no avail. It has been nine years since then. We were told since we were toddlers that we would have the same mate and we never doubted it. Growing up, we were interested only in the same girls. We shared girls and they often liked Roman more than I, for obvious reasons. I decided that we should pick a chosen since the pack obviously needed a Luna. I was the one who picked Elena. She was the daughter of one of the high ran
Raven's POVI walked to the door and knocked trying not tremble as a voice from inside asked me to hold on. I wished my wolf would just agree with me to run. It was better to try and fail than not try at all. Whatever it was I faced that night was going to be her fault. The door opened to reveal a male standing in nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist. He had clearly just had a shower. His hair was wet and water ran down his body. I felt like catching the droplets with my mouth. I immediately caught my thought when I heard a growl from the male in front of me. I quickly recovered and cleared my throat.'My name is Raven, I was sent by the Luna,' I said not looking into his eyes.'You must be kidding me,' the male growled and pulled me by the hand into the room before closing the door.I started shivering from fear. I heard a door open and close then another voice said,'What is going on here?' He asked. Then I realized I was in the room with two grown male. And from the pow
Alpha Roy's POV'Why would you say we would send for her?' I growled at Roman the instant Raven closed the door.'I intend to take her with me whenever we are going back,' Roman answered.'What? Are you mad?' I asked looking at my brother as if he had totally lost it.'No, I am not mad. She is our mate for crying out loud.''And so. You are going to take an Omega back to the park and introduce her as our Luna? Are you crazy?' I asked Roman.'I should be the one asking you if you are crazy. Raven is our mate, we can't possibly leave her here. She is obviously not safe here.''I am not taking that from you. I would not be disgraced. How would I present an Omega to the pack as our mate. Her wolf is even so weak that our scent doesn't affect her,' I said angrily.'Are you sure about that?' Roman asked 'Maybe if you had not been trying to tear into her throat she might have been able to pick on our scent.''You asked her yourself if she could perceive the connection, she said no.' 'The gi
Raven's POV'What is it child? Please tell me,' Bella pleaded with me.I had been crying for what seemed like hours. My sob had even roused April from sleep. They both tried to calm me down to no avail. When I had cried to my heart content and there seemed to be no tears anymore,'The Luna asked me to serve men in their room,' I said.'What?' Both April and Bella shouted together.'That wicked bitch. How dare her do this to you. She had you abandoned here when you were just a toddler. And now this?' Bella said as angry tears sprang to her eyes.'Oh my days. Are you ok?' April asked looking at me from head to toe as if searching for any mark that could indicate that I was hurt.I nodded. I didn't know what to say. The look on their faces made me think of my foolish act of not telling them the truth.'I asked you what was going on but you lied to me, Raven.' 'I am sorry, she said if I told you and April anything, then I would be putting your lives in danger,' I explained. 'She threat
Raven's POVI followed the soldiers into the pack's house silently. At a point, one of the soldiers laid a hand on my shoulder to stop me from walking further. 'The Luna sent a message. She said when the Alpha asks you where you met the twins, you should say you ran into them when you were delivering toiletries to the guest house,' he said looking at me pitifully.I nodded at him. He then pointed in the direction of the Alpha's office. 'Go straight then turn left, it is the the second door by your right. You can't miss it,' he said and they left me to find my way to the Alpha's office.I have never been to that part of the Pack. I only clean the kitchen and some of the rooms downstairs. Only older Omegas are allowed up the stairs.I walked according to the direction of the soldiers. The Alpha's office door could not be missed. It was big and black. It was the only black door on the corridor.I knocked and entered when I heard a voice say I should come in. I entered to find the Luna
