Chapter Thirty Five

Luca let out his breath,

‘So do I’

Then it went silent and after a few minutes the two Wolves began to crawl back out through the undergrowth and she followed. It was pitch black and absolutely quiet, she knelt and hugged Tyler and Zyler,

‘Thank you’

She whispered and forced herself to stand,

‘Goodbye’

She placed a soft kiss on each of their heads and issued the Navajo command once more her heart breaking as the two silent shadows disappeared this time forever. Turning she headed into the woods hoping she was going the right way and did not look back, she couldn’t, tears streamed down her face. In the end she had to stop and lean against a tree letting the pain overwhelm her briefly. Dashing them away she carried on putting one foot in front of the other until she came out of the woods behind the compound.
