Chapter 17:

Leia POV:

My eyes snapped open and pain shot through me. I took a deep breath and flinched. Wait.. I can feel my fingers twitch. "What happened?" I asked hoping someone was around. "Ah you are finally awake." Lillith replied leaning over me. "Where is Pythia?" I asked. "She is resting, how are you feeling?" Lillith asked. "Is there anything worse than terrible?" I replied. Lillith smiled but it was a sad smile. "We are working on healing the rest of your wounds. You'll be down for a few more days but we will help  you recover in every way." Lillith said. "Thank you but I really need to use the bathroom." I replied feeling the urge. "Okay, ladies, a little help. We need to carry her to the bathroom." Lillith said loudly, getting their attention. "Gently though, keep her even." Lillith added as they started to lift me. "I brought a wheelchair for moments like this." One girl said. "Good idea, set her down gently." LIllith replied. I looked down to see a blanket was covering me. "Why can't I feel the blanket?" I asked. "Because we have wraps on you, that is a weighted blanket to help keep it all in place." Lillith replied. "It's going to be a long healing process." Una said quickly. "Una! Are you okay?" I asked. "I am fine, I'm glad you are back in control. Now I just need to help heal you." Una replied. It made me happy to see her up and moving again, she looked better than she had in a long time.

As Lillith  pushed me down the hallway and I took in my surroundings.  It wasn't the best looking house but I was still grateful for their help. "Hey.. Is Pythia going to be alright?" I asked, feeling a little guilty. "She will be fine, she just needs her rest, that's all." Lillith replied softly. We got to the bathroom, Lillith stopped pushing me and waved off the others. "Alright, try not to use too much of your muscle." She said wrapping one arm under mine and lifting me. "Hold on to the counter, we are about to get to know each other in ways I would have never thought." Lillith laughed. I couldn't help but laugh, I mean of all things she was about to see.. This was not one of the things I would have preferred. "So how long until I am able to walk again?" I asked. "A couple days or so, we will work it slowly but your wounds are still fresh." Lillith replied, turning her back to me so I could have some privacy. When I was done she helped me get back in the chair and covered me with the blanket again. "I'll change those wraps when we get back in. Would  you like me to call your family?" Lillith asked. "No, not yet. I don't want them to see me like this, you know? My mom would be so heartbroken and I feel guilty enough." I replied feeling the sting of tears in my eyes. "Things will get better, you shouldn't feel guilty. Be happy that you had so many people hunting you down, even those of us that don't really know you. Sure you made a mistake but we learn from those mistakes." Lillith said softly.

She was right, I made the biggest mistake of my life because I was so wrapped up in my own feelings. "I know, I didn't think that would happen but I won't be doing that again." I said. "Then consider it a lesson learned. I'll leave the remote right here for you. I'm going to go get you some water and food. You must be hungry." Lillith replied. "No need, I've got it right here." Pythia said. Lillith didn't say anything back, she just backed out of the room. "How are you feeling? Happy to be back in control of your body?" Pythia asked. "Yes, very much so. The pain isn't as bad as it was earlier. How are you though?" I asked, looking at her. She looked overly exhausted. "I will be fine, don't you worry. I do have something that I need to talk to you about though." Pythia replied. "Okay, I'm all ears." I said. "So they had Julie the pack doctor come look you over while we were both passed out. Your wounds will heal but I am making you some cream to help erase those per say but, something happened while we were making the cuts to your body." Pythia replied. I could tell by the look on her face that it was something bad. "What happened?" I asked.

Pythia took a deep breath before she looked at me fully. "Your uterus was cut and we couldn't save it.. I'm so sorry Leia.." she said with tears in her eyes and I felt my heart sink. "Wha..- What does that mean?" I asked, trying to control my emotions. "You won't be able to have children.. Other areas were cut but it wasn't nearly as bad. We didn't realize your uterus was cut until Julie saw it." Pythia replied. I can't have children... I looked down and pushed the blanket off and pulled the wrap away to see a large gash that had been stitched up, the unshed tears I was holding back came rushing out as I gently rested my hand on it. I couldn't have kids.. There was no way of it even being a possibility. "Una.. Did you know?" I asked. "I did but I am trying everything I can to heal it but I don't think I will be able to." Una whispered, breaking my heart even more. "Can anything be done?" I asked, looking at Pythia. She lowered her eyes and shook her head and I was no longer able to control my emotions. "I'm so sorry.." Pythia whispered as she wrapped me up in a hug.

So many things were going through my head at once. How was I going to tell my family? My future mate? "It's going to be okay.. Somehow it will be." Pythia whispered as she rubbed the back of my head. "Hey.. If I could give you mine I would. You are still so young, I know this is something hard to handle but I'll be here every step of the way." Pythia added. "Pythia, we need to change her wraps." Lillith whispered. "Just me and you. Everyone else is to stay out." Pythia replied leaning back. She stood to her feet and gently pulled off the rest of the blanket. I kept my head up so that I didn't have to see any of it. I don't think I could right now. "Why don't you find something to watch?" Pythia whispered. I just shook my head and looked forward, I was completely numb inside and out. I could feel them taking everything off and replacing them. I could hear them talking but I couldn't fully listen. "We are going to be okay." Una whispered. "How?" I replied feeling my chest heave a little. "Just have faith." Una said. It was hard to have faith right now, I couldn't blame them for what happened, they did what they had to do to help me. "All done. Do you need anything for pain?" Pythia asked. "Uh, no I think I'll be alright, thank you." I replied.
