Writer's POV

Eleanor changed seats with Emil. The way to her mother's place was too complex to explain and she was in a hurry. She drove straight to her mother's place and parked in front of the house.

"Are you sure people live here and you aren't mistaken?" Emil asked her as he got down. He took a sandwich with him and ate as he walked to her. "Would you like some?"

"You think I have an appetite? Father also said the same thing when he first came here. I wonder what Mother would be doing inside. I'm sure she's not ready for what I am bringing. Emil, I need you to greet her naturally and pretend nothing happened. I don't want her to have the slightest hint."

Emil nodded. Eleanor went to the door and knocked. "I would break the door if you don't open up." That was what Lina told her to say anytime she came around so she would know that it was Eleanor. The door opened and Eleanor immediately faked a smile and she was good at it.
