Chapter 34— Tension, withdrawal, jealousy.

"I'm leaving," Rosalie mumbled and Alexander raised his head to her. His eyes darkened the moment his orbs rested on her face. After Collins left, she worked in her office.

Seeing her eyes puffy and the eye bag with the dark circles around her eyes, his chest tightened. "Rosalie," he called but she took a step backwards, her arms around herself.

"Bye, sir," she said and turned around leaving him in a state of dilemma. He was just about to explain things to her when Collins walked in.

He had to. He knew he should. But he couldn't. Not after the puzzle he was in.

Collins was back and would be on the watch at the moment. If he knew she was his weakness, things would take a new turn.

The door slammed close and he ran his hands through his hair. He shut his eyes and took a deep breath.

Everything was driving him crazy and making his head bang.

He grabbed the files and took his eyes to his wristwatch. He had a load of work to do.

The ringing of his phone made him stop all action at once. H
