Carden smiled and moved his face forward, maintaining some inches apart but enough for him to see her face clearly. His fingers, with a mind of their own, tucked her hair behind her ear and cupped her face.

Dalmi looked like a baby when she sleeps. Her eyelashes were thick and long, her nose was straight with freckles complementing its bridge and some areas of her cheeks. Her lips were also pinker than what he could remember.

With a frown on his face, Carden strides the way to their front door. He swore to himself, if this was his brother, he would punch him. He didn’t order something, and he was sure he didn’t call for maintenance, so who could it be?He shook his head, his jaw clenching hard as he grasped on the doorknob.“A freaking disturbance,” he murmured, still not throwing the person a glance. He was about to leave the door wide open for the visitor to come in, but the man spoke.“Mr. Thompson!” Jackie’s cheerful, fake girly voice greeted and waved at him, catching his complete attention.“Ah...yeah,” he greeted back, not sure about how he should react to his wife’s best friend. In his mind, it was always good if someone close to Dalmi visits her, but today, the timing was too bad that he couldn’t give her a smile.“Is Dalmi inside?” Jackie asked, peeking through his back as he tried to search f

It was already nine AM, and she was late for her first day of work, but Carden didn’t even wake her up.Was he that furious that he’ll never even care if she would struggle or not? Knocking on her door early in the morning won’t hurt his time, but he didn’t consider doing it.Dalmi heaved a deep breath and ran towards the dining room, expecting that he somehow left her food because as he just said yesterday, he was cooking for himself, so maybe he left something. But to her disappointment, there was nothing. What she saw was a clean dining table with no sign of a man who ate and the only thing she could do to release her stress is to groan and march away from that pla

“What?” Dalmi couldn’t hide the annoyance in her voice. Her brows furrowed, and her lips pursed in a grim line.Right when she woke up to ask him for lunch up to dinner, he was not around. Was he avoiding her?Of course. If not, then he should’ve been the one reaching out to her, right? She shook her head.“I’m sorry, Ma’am...but Mr. Thomson was-““First, you told me he was out for a business meeting and now, your boss went home early?” she sarcastically retorted and blew her cheeks.“Is your boss avoiding me? “C-Carden?” she gently asked and slowly walked towards him.The man was facing the door, his head bowed a bit, and his hand grips on the plastic bag. He seemed like he still didn’t notice Dalmi, so she took more steps and stopped right beside him.“Why are you waiting here instead of coming...” her words stopped midway when the mana tilted his head. “Casimir?” her brows furrowed.“Dalmi! At last!” Casimir smiled widely. The woman, on the other hand, forced a smile after seeing who he is.She expected her husband to be the one on the door, and to see that it was another man, she felt a bit disappointed.“What are you doing here?” she asked and seized his body. He was wearing the same color of polo and pants that Carden wore earlier, and she could hardly see the difference of their back that she didn’t notice.Casimir, still with a smile on his face, raised the plastic bag at the leve

"Are you done spending time with the tenant downstairs?" Carden angrily asked when the woman entered the room.It was almost ten pm, and she should be out by six pm. That alone made Carden as pissed as he is right now.Dalmi sighed and act as if she didn't hear anything. The noisy roads of Manila drained all her energy that she didn't have time to argue about anything right now.She wanted to take a rest. However, she still thinks walking past him without even talking for a second might make him more annoyed, so with small, lazy footsteps, he went towards him and sat beside him.Carden couldn't take his eyes off his wife. He could feel anger surging up in him when he never sees a glint of response in her face.He was expecting her to deny it, but the woman only took a deep breath and lazily unlocked the straps of her shoes. With a blank expression plastered on her face, Dalmi glanced at her. It was past eleven, and Denver and Dalmi were already in a deep slumber; however, he still couldn’t get himself to sleep. He was standing on Dalmi’s veranda, his back leaning on the wall and his eyes gazing at the deep, night sky. His disheveled hair kept on dancing with the cold wind as if it was upbeat music that won’t stop his hair from moving sideways, but he didn’t mind, for the only thing he wanted right now was to enjoy the peacefulness of the night.Up until now, he still couldn't believe that everything was falling into their right places. Denver accepted him as his father, he and Dalmi were fine...and they’re gonna sleep on the same roof tonight. The kid just said that he didn’t like it in front of Carden, now that he was gone, he was searching for it?“I thought you don’t like it? Chapter 137Dalmi’s jaw dropped when she saw how Denver put the spoon down and crossed his arms like a grown-up man. The kid, who obviously looked like he enjoyed the first two scoops when he was tasting it, now looked as though he had tasted the worst banana split he ever had.“I-is he serious?” She shifted her gaze towards Carden who just picked up the spoon and sat at the seat where Denver sat earlier. He picked a portion of the desert and acted as if she was now in front of him.“Carden! Aren’t you offended that your child didn’t like what you did?” she furrowed her brows. If her son was already weird, she already knew that he got it from his father. Instead of thinking as to why Denver had to walk out, he just eats the leftovers! She glared at him.“Why? Should I be sad that Denver walked out?”“Yes! He just said he doesn’t like it!” she retorted and crossed her arms.

I promise I will wash off every memory from that man until he accepts me as his father.”That
