Anderson's POV

When I finally burst through the door, the cold wind hit me like a slap.

Seeing the boy still there, his back turned to me, I quietly caught my breath, careful not to let him notice. I did not want to startle him or make him panic—that was how I planned to handle the situation.

Spotting a makeshift seat nearby, I sat down and observed him.

He seemed unsure, hesitant about the decision he was contemplating.

I took a deep breath and finally spoke.

“So, tell me... what’s going on?” My voice was steady, hiding the anxiety I felt inside.

When he turned to face me, he looked confused by my calm demeanour. I deliberately avoided eye contact, keeping my gaze forward, trying to appear composed.

When our eyes finally met, his expression was a mix of bewilderment and curiosity.

"What did you say?” he asked, clearly thrown off by my approach.

I let out a soft chuckle. “You heard me, man. What’s going on? Why are you thinking about ending your life?”

I was not sure what he expected

Sarah's POVThe date was the last thing on my mind. All I cared about was Anderson’s decision—what he wanted from me in exchange for keeping my secrets buried. That was the only thing I was focused on as I led him to the spot I had chosen, Riverglow Hollow. He looked around, confusion etched on his face. “Wait, where is the place you picked for the date?""This place? Here?!" His voice was laced with disbelief when I told him that our destination was nearby and we would arrive soon.A scoff left his lips. “Who in their right mind would choose a place like this for a date?”I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms. "Apparently, me," I shot back. "Besides, a date is about spending time together, talking. It doesn’t have to be in a fancy restaurant or an amusement park. This place is perfect for that.”"Oh, perfect. Just perfect. I dress up in one of my best dresses, thinking we are going somewhere classy, and you bring me to... this. I could have worn something more... appropriate. Like hik

Sarah's POVI snapped my gaze away instantly, heat rushing to my cheeks.“What the hell are you doing?” I managed to choke out, my voice barely audible."Taking a swim, of course," Anderson replied. When I turned to look at him, that infuriating smirk was back in full force. Before I could say that I had not brought him here for that—just to talk and enjoy the river view—he dived in, slicing through the water with ease. When he resurfaced, droplets clung to his skin, trailing down his chest and abs. I could not help but stare, my mouth hanging open, as the sunlight danced across his wet skin, making him look even more ethereal. He ran a hand through his wet hair, pushing it back like he was trying to tie it into a bun, revealing his strong brow and deep-set eyes. The way the water clung to his body, the way his muscles moved with every stroke—it was impossible not to admire him. He looked like Poseidon himself, commanding the waves. The water rippled around him as he swam toward the

Sarah's POVMy heart was still racing as I stepped into my room, slamming the door shut behind me. The tension from the river lingered in my chest, making every breath feel too shallow and quick.Pressing a hand over my pounding heart, I whispered to myself, "What if it had been someone? What if they recognised Anderson and me?" The questions spiralled in my head, each one more terrifying than the last. The twig had not been broken by a person—it was a deer. For a brief moment, its wide, innocent eyes locked with mine before it darted back into the bushes.I let out a long, shaky breath and slumped onto my bed. I needed to end this. Whatever it was between Anderson and me, it had to stop permanently. Because if anything like today happened again, I was not sure I would be able to resist him. And that terrified me more than the idea of getting caught. I had to admit, his charm was irresistible even to someone like me, just as he had boasted. My mind betrayed me, flashing back to the r

Anderson's POVLying on my bed, I let out a deep, satisfied chuckle, still buzzing from the call with Sarah. She thought she could resist me? Adorable. The way her voice had wavered, the unspoken tension crackling between us—it was intoxicating. I had her exactly where I wanted her, and she knew it too.My mind drifted back to the river when she pulled my shirt over her nearly bare body—only her panties remaining—as she changed out of her dress to join me in the water, completely unaware of my hungry gaze. The sight of her reflection in the water had nearly ruined me. Her curves were nothing short of mesmerising and tempting—an hourglass figure that begged to be traced. Her breasts, full and impossibly firm, teased my imagination, making me ache to cup them, to feel their warmth before claiming them with my lips.I had planned to make her make the first move, to give her the illusion of control, but damn, the way she looked had pushed my patience to its limits. And with my cock alread

Sarah's POVWho the hell does this guy think he is, showing up at my doorstep, knocking like a maniac, demanding to see me—despite me making it very clear that I don’t want to?It has not even been a full twenty-four hours since our disastrous phone call, yet here he is.Since the only plan I had to stop him from blackmailing me with my secrets was not possible, I decided the best thing to do was stay away from him.Sure, it was a risk, knowing what he could do with them, but I was willing to bet he was only using it as leverage—to manipulate me into doing his bidding. If he actually intended to go to the police or whatever, he would have done it by now, especially with how many times I’ve refused him. I just hope I’m right. However, my neighbour made me rethink my decision when she shouted, "I don’t know who the fuck that asshole is, but if you don’t give him whatever he wants and make him leave, I swear to God, I’ll be the one calling the cops on both of you!"Sighing, I muttered a

Anderson's POVA few days had passed, yet, every time I recalled Sarah's facade of confidence that night, a smirk tugged at my lips.I could not believe she had the audacity to defy me because no one had ever dared to stand up to me after I issued a subtle or direct threat.Well, I had already put her in her place. Sooner or later, she’d regret that decision once things played out as I intended.Truth be told, I had no real plans of exposing her. If I did, I would have told Lucas by now. But I had to let her realise that I was still in control and that I always would be. That way, she would eventually give in to my demands, believing I was serious, which she had.Since then, she had been avoiding me like the plague. One time, we passed each other in the hallway, and she blatantly ignored my greeting. In class, she never met my gaze. It was amusing, really.Gliding effortlessly across the skating ground, I was lost in my own world, barely noticing anything around me—until the noise abr

Anderson's POV I thought my last encounter with Amber at the party would be the end of it, especially since she never reached out like she said she would. Honestly, I had forgotten all about her until she unexpectedly showed up at my school. I was just about to get into my car and head home when the tinted window of a sleek black Aston Martin rolled down, revealing her. She grinned at me like she owned the world. "Hey, pretty boy. Miss me?" I chuckled in disbelief, shoving my hands into my pockets. "What do you think?" "Well, I don't really know. But I do." She admitted, eyes twinkling with mischief. I smirked. "Should I say that's expected?" Her smile widened, a slight blush creeping up her cheeks when I asked her what she was doing here. "I'm here for you, of course." That threw me off. "Me?" I scoffed, shaking my head. "How did you even get in when you are not a student here?" She leaned on the steering wheel, lips curving in amusement. "I have my ways around

Without a word, I sat up and reached for my clothes."What’s wrong?" she asked, the duvet clutched tightly against her chest as she sat up, her eyes searching mine.I pulled my shirt over my head, buttoning it casually. “What does it look like?”Then, I shot her a glance. “I’m leaving.”Her jaw dropped slightly, but she quickly composed herself and asked if I wasn't staying overnight. That actually made me laugh. "And why would I?"Her lips parted, then shut as if reconsidering her words."I just thought… since we have the mansion to ourselves…” she trailed off.Ah. So that was her plan all along. Clever. This was not just a random night of fun for her. The whole "we have the mansion to ourselves" thing made it clear this had been her plan all along, especially since it was susp

Anderson's POVI didn’t sleep all night. Not a blink. Not a second.Because no matter how hard I tried, my thoughts kept drifting to Sarah. It was more than just thinking about her—it was like an invisible rope was pulling me toward her.The more I resisted, the more I felt like I was betraying a primal part of myself. My chest felt heavy, like someone had dropped a stone on it and kept tugging every time I tried to breathe. And to make it worse, every time I closed my eyes, this weird feeling would wash over me.Something felt off. I couldn’t relax, and it made me anxious. It was like the stupid mate bond was sending alarm bells through my body, making my skin tingle with this strange urgency—my muscles were tense like I was about to fight, and even my claws were itching to come out—which made no sense.I mean, I’m a lycan, not a werewolf. I’m supposed to have control over stuff like this.“Is she in danger?” I could not help but ask myself in the middle of the night, sitting up in b

What do you mean?" My voice trembled, trying my best to mask my fear and panic.Alpha Derek chuckled. It was the kind that would make your spine itch. His gaze pinned me down like prey. "That tongue of yours,” he murmured darkly."It is one of the few things I find impressive about you.""But make no mistake, girl, if you weren’t my son’s… friend, you wouldn’t be standing here, breathing this air. You’d be in a cell, or worse.”I froze. That was not a threat. That was a promise dressed in velvet. Then he stepped forward, his aura crashing over me like a tidal wave.“Tell me,” he said, his voice turning cold and sharp, “who’s the psycho brave enough to mess with my city like this?”I squared my shoulders, trying to ignore how my heart thundered against my ribs like a war drum. This wasn't the dungeon. The stone walls and flickering torches were gone. Instead, soft morning light filtered through sheer curtains hanging over a window.I tried to lift my hand to rub my temple, but something cold and heavy pulled against my wrist. The metallic clank made my eyes snap open, and I looked down. The chain was still there. Shackled tightly around my ankle, biting into my skin.My heart leapt into my throat as memories hit me in fragments."What the..." I whispered."Did he figure it out? Sarah's POVThe dungeon was thick with tension.Alaric's gaze was locked on me, confused, processing what was happening. But I wasn't looking at him. My mind was spinning, trying to find a way out of this nightmare.Axel's face twisted with rage as he pointed at me."You lying piece of shit!" he growled, his muscles tensed like a coiled spring ready to unleash violence as he lunged toward me—only to be yanked back by Alaric’s sharp command."Stop!" His voice echoed off the stone walls.Axel froze mid-step, but his eyes burnt with defiance. "Just because Dad left you in charge doesn't mean you get to order me around like some pet!"He snarled, baring teeth that seemed sharper than they should be. "I have just as much right to act as you do!"His fists clenched so tight his knuckles turned bone white. "She's playing us, and you know it!"The air in the room suddenly felt colder.Alaric's fists clenched so tight I could hear the bones crack before he turned to face his brother slowly.“Y

Sarah's POV There he stood—Vincent Reyes, the notorious loan shark who owned some of the underground businesses in the city. He was the owner of the loan shark company and also a werewolf. His tall figure filled the doorway.Alaric's eyes flashed with irritation. "You are late, Reyes. The moon doesn't wait for anyone, neither do I."Vincent ran a hand through his slicked-back hair, offering a slight bow that didn't quite reach his eyes. "My sincerest apologies. Had a little... situation."When Vincent's gaze finally landed on me, my heart stopped. Time itself seemed to freeze as I felt naked, as if he could see right through me. His eyes narrowed, head tilting slightly as he studied my face. This was it. He would definitely know who I was and I was dead— even though I was sure we hadn't come across each other before. And now, he was going to tell them everything—that I had killed every one of them because of the loan I was yet to pay back. SARAH'S POVI woke up to a pounding headache, my vision swimming as if I had been knocked out cold. My body felt heavy, my limbs sluggish, and every breath came in short, shaky gasps.Blurred figures stood in front of me, their voices slurring together like an incoherent murmur as I fought to sit up, forcing myself to push past the weight pressing me down.I had to wake up. I had to figure out where the hell I was.A low groan escaped my lips as I blinked against the flickering glow of torches hanging on the walls. The dim light did little to help me piece together my surroundings. The last thing I remembered was walking into the loan shark’s office, determined to uncover the murderer’s identity through a ritual.I had overheard two students whispering about it at school, and I needed answers.I was in the middle of it when everything went dark. Now, as my vision cleared, I finally saw them.Alaric sat in front of me, legs crossed, his sharp eyes watching me like a predator sizing up

She should be here by now,” he muttered, glancing toward Gaines."Every second we waste..." He shook his head, the moonlight catching the beads of sweat on his temple."Every second we waste is another second closer to everything falling apart. If Derek connects those dots..." We just decided I should stay here overnight while he handles things.”I did not believe her for a second—it was as if she had another agenda other than just to spend time with me a bit before leaving the next morning like she had claimed. But before I could press further, she seamlessly changed the subject."We should have dinner together," she suggested, her tone light but leaving no room for refusal.I did not argue. I never really did with her or my adoptive father."Fine," I muttered, already rising to head to my room."I'll join you later.
