Sasha's POV

I stood there, surprised by the turn of things. Gabriel had just said I was his girlfriend, and now Valentino was standing beside me, insisting firmly that I was his wife. The situation was getting out of hand.

Gabriel and Valentino locked eyes with one another, their gazes were as intense as they claimed me with authority and confidence. Gabriel's declaration that I could be his wife was especially surprising, considering we had barely known each other for an hour.

Valentino's expression changed and I could see very clearly how angry he was with the situation. He had made it known from the start that our relationship was strictly defined by a contract. But here he was, staking his claim in public in a way that suggested something deeper.
